I guess I will flash and see what happens.

Is this to get one of the Gingerbread ROMS (not CM7) from the i9000 and replace it with this kernel or am I lost?

Nope its cm7 but you wouldn't want it. It's not overclocked.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App

The kernel name in the settings says Trident. Otherwise, it seems to work great for the 5 minutes that I've been using it.

Ah ok I thought it was some reoriented kernel for the 2.3 roms in the i9000 no prob

What's the difference between this kernel and the Trident one?

At a minimum Trident is oc capable where this has stock voltage with UV capablility. I test bln and it didn't flash mylights. Its the free version. Is that accurate by peoples memory that it works even if the test doesn't?
This is my Captivate. There are many like it but this one is mine

So far so good, it hauls ass at stock freq, very smooth, ill see how the battery does today. Thank you

Do we really need that Troll as the startup image?
Just installed it so you will get feedback after some time.

So uhm I guess I got a trolljan? Because it just bootlooped. Repeatedly. Then, I tried flashing another kernel. that didn't work either. I had to flash CyanogenMod completely all over again.

Instead of reflashing cm7 as a whole was that other kernel you tried the initial cm7 kernel? Cuz that fixes bad kernel flashes with cm7 and miui 9 times out of 10 and then try flashing troll again it shud work
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App

ok maybe i'm dumb but why do we need this kernel if its the same thing as trident, just without oc? why can't a user just download trident, NOT oc it, and then uv as much as they want?

[ROM][2.3.4][Gingerbread JVR ODEXED] ♦ Apex JVR ♦ 08/01

Features:
This is basically JVR based Apex 9.0 minus home haptic minus deodexing minus lockscreen options minus overscroll glow.
If you want all these features Apex 9.0 is your stop.
This is not an Apex release. 9.0 is the official version out
Reason for keeping it ODEXED:
In layman terms deodexing on JVQ+ roms seem to break browser.
In theory deodexing might be breaking some other functions too but browser is most noticable.
Once this process is fixed we will start getting wonderful ROMs with fully working browser and what not.
Since this is odexed rom MODs are much harder to implement. However it seems to be noticably smoother.
Whats ODEXED? Framework & Browser

Factory reset/Data wipe before install to prevent being stuck in boot loop.

This is tempting, I've always been a cyanogen fan since my old mytouch 1.2 but I think ill stick with honeycomb 3.1 until a more stable version comes around. If the Rom I'm on keeps updating I may just stick with it though and flash cm7 just to check it out. Can't Waite for a release though to see what they bring seeing that this is a new development for them (the atrix)

I read somewhere that the fingerprint scanner SDK just came out, so its possible. However, because Atrix is the only device I know of with an FPS, and CM7 is for many devices, I would guess that FPS will not be in the beta release. It probably wont even be in the official release, but rather a mod released after the fact. Just a guess.
EDIT: Don't work on FINE MODE...

YOU DO NOT NEED TO OVERCLOCK THIS ROM! It runs very speedy at 1.0GHz, and you save a lot of battery life. Don't believe me? Try it out.
There was a slight glitch in this build and the Android Market was not included. Installing the latest GAPPS fixes this.
Themers! If you would like to create a theme for this ROM or a themed rom using this base, either PM me or drop me a line at
paul @cpcookieman. com (take out the spaces first)
Disclaimer: This ROM comes with no warranty. I am not responsible for any thing that happens to your phone or you when using this rom. Standard stuff for any rom. If you understand this, read on.
What this ROM is: A super slim, super fast Gingerbread AOSP ROM that is geared towards the best performance you can get, while not sacrificing battery life.
What this ROM is NOT: A Sense ROM or a themed ROM. You get very close to a vanilla experience without any themes or Sense to slow it down.
What about bugs? This ROM has been in private testing for about a month now and is virtually bug free. The LTE, Wifi, GPS, Camera, BT, etc. all work perfectly. The only real "bug" is that at the bottom of the Settings application it says About OMGB. I had to borrow the Settings.apk from OMGB. The correct settings application will be included in V5 if all goes well.
How to install this ROM:
Flash the 2.11 leak CDMA radio and LTE combo from here.
Wipe Data and Cache
Install the ROM from Recovery
Install the latest GAPPS from here.
Go through the setup wizard
Allow your phone 30 minutes to an hour to sync and create all caches for maximum performance.
ENJOY

None.
Well played cp. This looks awesome. Thanks for your hard work.
Take his word!!
This ROM is super light weight and stable as all hell! Trust him when he says don't over clock. Over clocking is over rated anyways.. This doesn't need it, it just works!

No gapps are needed. The Android Market is included with the rom, and you can download any other gapps you may want on there. This way you can be more selective about it.
Never mind, I can't read :-/

2.3.4. I started testing before 2.3.5 was out. That shows just how thorough the testing really was.
does the cm7 theme chooser and morphs work with this rom?
Strange, I had Gmail when I booted up, however I didn't have the market showing

That's really weird, I thought for sure I included it... I suppose if you have any problems, the latest GAPPS should work just fine. As long as they are intended for 2.3.4 and not 2.3.5.

Ummmm...I've had gapps 2.3.5 installed for a little while now....what issues should I look out for?
Does this support auto-dock-mode when inserted in the HTC desktop dock? That's the main thing missing from CM7 for me.
