[Q] Baseband

My X8 still uses the .06 baseband. When I connect to SEUS, it says that is already up-to-date.
I found on development forum the link for downloading the baseband, but how can I update it? If something goes wrong, the ROM backup I made on XRecovery will be enough to revert?

No. It won`t be enough. Xrecovery is working on upper layer.

How to proceed to upgrade? And there is any "backup" to recover if something goes wrong? Without the .15 baseband I can't use any custom ROM, and as X8 won't have updates...

Flash your phone with 15 baseband firmware! I do it.

If you have X8i, flash X8i 015 baseband, and if you have X8a, flash X8a 015 baseband.

I cant get the unzip for baseband x8a for xxx15 it gives error theres something wrong? what program do u use im using winrar and winzip and I cant unzipped

[Q] MiniCM do not work for me

Every ROM's with MiniCM, do not work for me. They reboot constantly. When i use CM7 and other 2.3 ROM's they work perfectly..

Do you have latest kernel + baseband 015?

Did you wipe battery stats?
Did you do factory reset?
Did you format sd card before flash the rom?

In 'About phone' it says:
Kernal version: 2.6.29
Baseband version: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
And the other versions ( CM7 ) do work, so I dont think that it is the problem.

How should i be able to format sd card before flashing? Then i would not have the update.zip anymore.

Kernel version and baseband version are the same on my xperia, and I'm using miniCM!
Before 2 days one guy had the same problem!
First try to do full wipe in xRecovery! if not this help, my advice will be to format everything data system and cache in xRecovery (that will erase also your OS) and you must use Sony Ericsson Update Service to get back on 2.1 android, and root your phone again, put xRecovery again and flash miniCM! (you will do this on your own risk!
This advice helped one guy who has the same problem!

2.2.1 MiniCM works well with me. try to wipe all user data. you previous ROM might left something behind
CM7 by racht doesn't have camera, and I cant play certain 3d games with it. so 2.2.1 MiniCM is the best so far IMHO.

i think youve got to have a factory reset before applying different rom

[Q] After install one rom, gets Sim Card error

I've installed "REINCARNATION ROM SERIES pre-Final [JB UI & S4 UI]" and i have new "no sim card/there is no service" error.
This is my old post: I've got sim card error. Cannot use phone, messages etc.
Firstly i installed evo-x 3 rom and then i've got this error. I am really going to mad because i tried all stuff but there is no change.
And there is no IMEI too.
What can i do?

Have u an Nandroid backup !!
Use it!!
Or flash stock Rom via odin !!
And inter ur Imei number!!

I've just realized that i didn't flashed any kernel before i flashed ROM. Does my problem exist because didn't flash kernel, or not?

are you on DDMD1 baseband? DDMD1 baseband have IMEI and phone issue if you dont have a proper kernel, try flash DDMD1 kernel fix from yash98 thread or flash white kernel

I think so. I am Turkish and i use Vodafone-Turkey. So i thought that i have to flash our baseband. But i don't know how to do it. From Odin flash new phone file or?

Up!

Use the correct kernel for the rom you are using
If cm7 based use something like percys cm #2 kernel
if stock based use something like hells fusion #50
You have no imei either because you are using the wrong kernel or you are using an incompatible stock baseband
With sd card the rom's mentioned are for GT-S5300 - using them on other devices may cause problems
flash your stock rom via odin & test it's not a hardware problem first

Hello guys!! I was on evo x4 and wanted to install cm7.. So downloaded both the files ie cyanogenmod#2.zip(kernel) and RC(release candidate)...
I booted to recovery flashed cm#2.zip(kernel). Then rebooted recovery. Formatted sys, data, cache.. Mounted them all and flashed the rom... Reset data and rebooted but i always get bootloops when i do so... What is the reason?? I also got the same error while tried to installAosp 2.3.7...
Someone pls help!!!

You should always flash stock rom when trying to move another custom rom from to another.

It's because of your baseband
remove your simm card and see if it boots
if so change to a compatible baseband (flash a different stock rom firmware via odin)
there is also a cm7 help thread with all this kinda stuff

I'm not from India so I don't keep track of your basebands but I think it's ddlk2

im on DDMD1 and never get problem with 2.3.7 rom

But if you want to go back to stock based custom rom you will loose IMEI unless you use stock DDMD1 kernel or a kernel with a modded ramdisk for DDMD1 - which is why I don't recommend this baseband for beginners

btw i use white kernel on DDMD1 baseband and IMEI still there.

[Q] EVO X4 - Sim not working

I have tried flashing this rom( EVO X4) on my my galaxy y, but everytime i try to flash this rom, the rom boots up perfectly but the sim card card does not work.
The sim card contacts are been showed up in the contacts app, but the notification bar shows " EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY " and i cant call any one. And when I try calling it gives a message saying " NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK ". Anbody please tell me how to fix this sim card problem.

Hmm change your baseband version by flashing CSC of your region.

Try flashing a custom kernel..

iv noticed you are using ddmd1 - this is a new firmware so try the options below
change your kernel - if it doesnt work keep following instructions below
do you have imei? Dial *#06#
If imei is blank you need to change your kernel or flash the ril fix to contiue using your current kernel
This is because new stock rom firmwares use a kernel with a different ram disk so if you are using a new kernel and old rom or vise versa you will loose imei
try flashing the attachment in cwm with system mounted
as ever make any backups first in case you need to restore

Sorry for my english
I have flashed Evo x-4 rom in my GT-s5360 but the sim didn't work so I try to recover my IMEI with one of your .zip file and it's work!
But sim isn't still working. I tried to change csc :they are only India, Sri lanka and Bengladesh csc. Well, I'm french. What can I do?
