I installed a Nexus One theme for 91PandaHome. I really fell in love with the idea they had to increase the amount of pages on the home screen to even 11 pages.
The reason why I don't use it at the moment is because the theme manager isn't able to use HTC Sense Widgets.
Is there any theme manager that does the same as I mentioned but is able to use HTC Widgets?
Or is there a way to increase the home screen pages on the Home Page?
I am running HTC Desire (Bravo) on my HD2.

My Question is... Is there a rom out there thats uses the regular android interface but has 5 screens, landscape home view, and htc apps and widgets.
Im kinda half way there I flashed the modaco rom but the touchflo overlay keep crashing so when ever i hit the home button and it asked me which i'd rather use the touch flo or home I chose home just to see what would happen. The result is I almost got everthing I wanted. I got a fastest ui ,the standard android, and all the htc apps, ie dialer, people, calender etc. All that was missing was the widgets and the 5 screens.
So is there like an htc rom out there w/o the touch flo overlay?
there is some kind of app thats called expanded or something like that that allows you to use up to 10 desktops...
But you had to be root for it to work...
I just started using GDE and have changed it to my default home, I'm asking if there is a way to block it from starting up, and if not a way to uninstall it altogether.
On a second question is there a way to use the HTC widgets like peep, home, ect.. and put them on GDE or home?
as with completely removing sense i dont know if its possible but sense ui is required for the widgets
1. click on search
2. in the drop down menu type "How to remove Sense UI / Rosie"
3. second result

Click to collapse
yes it did, i chose gde and i prefer it over sense, check out some of my screens over in the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584379&page=5 thread. only gripe is i cant use all those nice htc widgets
Apparently to your misery of missing the htc widgets in alternative home launcher htc widget are not classed as android widgets they are specifically written to run on sense.
Market widgets run on android so they can be shown on other home launcher, only shortcuts of htc apps applies but that's not you want and you get the point overall htc widgets and htc sense are made for htc phones.
I agree sense is too simplistic on the downside and I too use a market home launcher.
Maybe try an AOSP custom rom, usually come looking like the original android interface.
If your on a deodoxed rom yes it is possible to delete sense all together u need rootexplorer and an already installed home alternative such as gde then u go to root explorer then system apps then delete rosie utility apk that's the launcher sense uses then u can go through and delete all the HTC apks and yes if u delete the HTC lockscreen you'll be on the default android lockscreen I was able to do this on nfinites sense froyo rom

Ok, see here is an idea/question I had, and I don't see asked elsewhere...
So, lets say that on my normal stock home screen, I have a weather widget running the main screen, then a clock on the 1st screen, and 2-3 widgets on the 3rd.
Now, how about I install a home replacement like Home++. On THIS home screen, I put a clock on screen 2, network widget on screen 3, and a few widgets on screen 1...
When I am using Home++ and have these widgets running, are they the only ones taking up memory/battery/etc, or are the widgets from the stock home screen running as well.
In other words, when Home++ is running, does it shut down the stock home and all it's widgets/apps, or is Home++ an overlay, and the other ones are still running?
Thanks
well if you dont want the widget running on the stock home, just clear defaults and force stop on the setting>application info
I've heard different answers on this. I've heard that the widgets on stock home do not run with a home replacement, but I've heard a few people say that the home replacement ran faster after nixing the widgets. Try it out yourself and see!
Is it possible to change the number of pages on the home screen? 7 is a bit too many for my usage and it would be nice to trim it down to 5 or 3 and I cant find a way to do it... any ideas?
It is just one long homescreen (7 pages). Just use the part of it you want. Just don't swipe to the blank parts if you don't want to use all the space.
You can also try out some of the "launcher" apps from the Market. Some use Helix, or Home++, and I think there is a new one called ADW launcher.
look at launcherpro in the market. Best home screen replacement IMO. plus you can choose how many screens. Just no HTC widgets, but if you search you'll find some good alternatives

When I switch on - it always goes to my library page.
How does one change the default home screen? I haven't found it.
Also - I would love to find a way to change the location of the three menu keys.
I'd really like to be able to browse in landscape mode but to have those keys along the right side of the screen.
There are 5 desktop screens, the third one (ie the middle one) is "home". So just move the library widgets to another screen and put whatever widgets you want on your home screen.
Regarding moving the 3 soft keys, no way to do that in stock jelly bean as far as I know,I think you have to be rooted.

Thanks for this. I was hoping there would be a way to designate the home screen as with the S3
Nova Launcher from the Play Store allows customizations, including how number of desktop screens and which is the default. Plus a lot of other features. No root required.
