Come on PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ the bloody forums before posting and this isn't development now is it.... to answer your question (which has been answered a million times already) NO you can not update your HD2 with the zune software and you will only be able to update your ROM by downloading a new one here, updating via the zune software will NEVER work.
Oh and the March update is NoDo which will bring copy and paste , the DFT are working on the NoDo update and are currently testing it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oH_x22NY6Yk) so it should be here soon.

Hi all
Everybody seem to be getting the update except for me :-(
I m using a debranded Orange(UK 2.73.61.66) Hero in India. And I rooted it and was running V ROM 10.3.2 peacefully. But I went back to my stock ROM(did RUU update) to get the official update. which is not happening at this moment.
So, first question, Am I supposed to get the update now..?? (Because HTC.com/uk site tells that its being released)
Second, whats that date trick again..? which everybody seems to be talking
And Sorry for creating a new thread, Didn have patience to search through all other threads

forward month and the year. Restart and wait.
You should have 405 prior to getting 2.1. Rather, you have 61...
You don't even need to restart - as soon as the phone figures out that its internal date is over two weeks after it last checked, it will check for update again. Mine did within 30 seconds after changing the date.
Only reason why this might not work is if you advanced the date before - in that case, you need to advance it even further.

Thanks for the reply guys. But was just wondering whether there is combination of brand and place to get the update. Like if u have Orange branded and u need to be in UK or something like that. (Coz I m in India, Strangely Indian versions have already received the updates)
FYI I have advanced the date to August..!! Still no luck :-(
If I read the numerous thread correctly, Orange UK users with carrier-crippled handsets don't see the OTA update at all yet. Someone correct me please if I'm wrong, though.
There is already a thread ** Official 2.1 UK UPDATE Thread ** .
Keep posts in the same area regards to this update then everyone can find it.

Yeah. Its true that they have not released the update for Orange Hero's. But I have seen threads where people did mention of receiving updates for Orange Hero.
So was just wondering

Doesn't NoDo sound a bit defeatist! should have be called CanDo....
I don't think NoDo is out yet. All the Devs got were updated SDKs.
The Mobile OS update is still unreleased to public.
i dont get any update in zune
You need to do a 'Check for Updates' in Zune on your PC. That's how I updated mine.

Zune software update has nothing to do with any forthcoming update to WP7.

NoDo stands for "No Donut" not "do" as in you are doing something. It's a shot at Google for naming all of their ROM updates after desserts.
Anyhow xbmod and the other guys are already working on this since a few days.

Depends on what you mean by "new version". MS did not release their March 2011 update until like March 30th, so I doubt anyone would have the latest WP7 cracked ROM on the 24th...the date of your post.
There are lots of ROM's out there from the February 2011 update (v.7008).
I haven't seen anyone who has posted the latest March 2011 update ROM yet.
New Bada 2.0 roms and a Mango release this week.
This is what they said 3 hours ago. Maybe it is i8700xxki1..what do you think about it?

yeah, rumours are that it will be out oh thursday
According to me it is KI1 and it has new radio/firm/boot as kh2 with the "only" difference it has official Mango and no brand. Really hope so. Thanks again SamFirmware

Edit 2: Official answer by SamFirmware "Moderator post to fast something. Communication problem. That why we removed. Sorry." No ROMs coming this week. Thread can be closed.

Communication problem? Maybe some English lessons would help them cause I can't make any sense of what they said there.

Their English is not one of the best, but please try to understand. English is difficult for everyone who comes from all the countries except for uk/us/australia etc...i understood everything they said so we don't need to insult them.
Anyway the final mango ROM is coming in 2 days via zune. Why not just wait for it?
That is not a rom. First of all a rom contains new firmware/radio and bootloader, the "thing" that should come in 2 days is an "update", Mango 7720.68. Secondly Samsung said one month ago that before Mango update they would have released a firmware update to let us receive Mango. Before that we won't be able to get Mango, so I think we will have to wait for long time yet..
just think a second, all the people that don't know this forum and are not able to flash the phone how do they could update, the official mango release for everyone and every brand of cell phone will come through Zune
brands like samsung...htc...they have the rtm and customize it for their phones then they send it back to ms and will be released through Zune

Radio and bootloader ARE updated through imageupdate, check package MODEM - it contains both radio and bootloader.
One would assume that they would make one big update containing all of this stuff - Omnia 7 can receive Mango update, we already tried it with the XXKH2 ROM's .pks that was with it. Update through beta to RTM and deploy that PKS to install the OEM part of the upgrade. Worked fine.
So you are saying that omnia 7 will have Mango even without drivers update right? I have KC1 now i hope this is enough to get Mango

I would like to ask one question regarding samfirmware website.
Why is there no direct way to find windows phone roms?
When you go to toolbox section, and firmwares, there you can only choose bada, symbian, windows mobile, but no windows phone.
Where do you guys put all the latest wp7 roms?
Windows Mobile is the same section als Windows phone 7

Coming from build 7712 it looks like you might need 2 updates to get to the latest mango build.

Also, the official mango release might not be avaliable for everyone, but there are ways around this...http://wmpoweruser.com/simple-trick-to-force-the-mango-update/
I don't know if either of these things will help, as I started from a clean install and updated (eventually) to mango, with no problems.
It might be helpful if you put what else you've tried and, I don't want to moan, but shouldn't this thread be in Q&A?
