Hi, I just updated to the Gingerbread leak, and I was restoring my previous apps, when I load a couple of homescreens, now I can't get the stock launcher back. I actually kinda like the stock launcher, and want it back. Is this possible?
Couldn't you get Home Switcher from the market and select it to launch default from there?

I can launch it, but not set it as the default home
If you're able to launch it, could you:
Open Home Switcher.
Launch the GB home.
Once launched, press the softkey home button and check the "launch as default" box?
Sorry, I didn't flash GB yet so I'm just throwing out some ideas. Not sure why you couldn't set as default in home switcher?

The reason I asked was that it wasn't present in the default home lists. And I kinda accidentally uninstalled it, so now it's gone. I guess I'll stay with LauncherPro/ADW.
can any of you guys upload a system dump of this rom please?
Pretty sure you can just extract the apk you need from the leaked gb rom zip file.

I did that, it didn't work. I tried moving the files. It didn't work. I tried installing it. It didn't work. I tried rebooting, it didn't work.
You could probably reinstall the GB leak without wiping and that should reinstall the launcher properly for you.

Why can't I find Helix launcher in the market??
because we have 1.6
helix is for 2.0+ device only.
You'll need to google it. Download the apk, put it on your sd card and install from there. Make sure you download the version for donut ( android 1.6)

Here, try this link.... Helix Launcher Donut 1.2
Put it on your sd card and then use astro to install it
Hello,
I have downloaded and installed Helix For Donut on my X10. However, it's now running in parallel with the original Home application.
Is there any way to stop Home from launching at startup (without uninstalling it) or killing the process? I am using Advanced Task Killer and Quick System Info to kill my processes but it doesn't appear on them as a process.
If I uninstall Home, is there any way to reinstall it if I want it again?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Wai Shing
I don't think you can uninstall Home. Basically, set the Helix as default and it should be good to go. When you click the home button, it will at first ask you which one you want to go to. Click HelixDonut and press the checkmark on the bottom to make it as default.
Oooh, I see. Thanks very much.
See here for Live Wallapers.
Not in Sense yet

As far as I can see, Live Wallpapers are not going to work until someone bakes a custom rom. The Live wallpaper picker just force closes on selection. So, unless I failed at installing the live wallpapers and the picker...

What launcher are you using? Did you try ADW or Launcher Pro? did you also load livewallpapers.apk?
I loaded livewallpapers.apk and the livewallapaerspicker.apk
I tried with Sense and sweeterhome
But I think I need to load the .SO files from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=647837
But I have to find a different SD card because I can't get into recovery mode with my 8gb sd card.
(I left my 2gb at home)
ADW gave me the same problem.
I was able to adb remount since I pushed your clean update
But now I am getting "out of memory" when I try to push the SO files.
So I guess I will have to do the push in restore mode.

Let me know if you can figure out a way to get it running in Sense. I still haven't gotten my Aria (due to show up on Monday), but the lack of wallpapers is the one thing I was disappointed with.
Well I have live wallpapers working on my aria right now in alternate launchers like adw and launcher pro.
Pulled the files from a custom rom that adds live wallpapers for legend then rebuilt them into a rom I'm working on stripped of at&t crap. Did not replace the rosie apk since at this time tha just crashed htc.launcher.
This is a fun little phone.

Hey Bob, did you find a way to fix the non-market apps toggle in settings? I am working on a modified spare parts type deal to do that now, but if you already have a fix, I am all ears. Funny, AT&T didn't like the name Liberty. How fitting that they chose not to use it.
we really should open an IRC channel
The real question is there a way to do Live Wallpapers & Sense at the same time.
I know I am being picky, but I want my tech the way I want my tech.

There is a way since the rom i stole the stuff from was for the legend and Sense its just the version of sense that was in the rom is not compatible with our rom.
I havent even started looking into the Sense APK file yet but figure with live wallpapers working correctly i just got to figure out how to disable normal wallpapers in sense to make them work.

I havent worked at all on the market toggle, i figure since we can sideload the settings.db file and it works its very low on my care list. All i worked on today was stripping out what i didnt like and trying to make a nice clean rom that had all the default files i wanted in it (google voice, pandora, etc..). Just happened to also play with the live wallpapers and found it worked on the way home when i tried a new launcher.

Yes, Please and Thank You
Yeah all the files are on my work machine so I will do that in a bit later. Will put it into a zip able to be recovered into an existing rooted aria so anyone can add them.

Update file for adding LWP to Aria
6/28/10 - Updated to allow LWP in the Sense UI
* This assumes you have your phone rooted and have access to the Clockwork Mod to allow updating your phone with unsigned zip files *
1.) Put the file onto your SD Card in the root directory
2.) Access the Clockwork Mod
4.) install zip from sdcard (option 5)
5.) choose zip from sdcard (option 2)
6.) Click on the file you downloaded and put on your sdcard
6a.) If you run into an error when installing shut off your phone,, unplug it from the USB cable, then reboot it back into Clockwork Mod and start again from step 2
7.) Once done installing, go back one menu and reboot system
8.) Upon reboot you can now choose Live Wallpaper in the wallpaper options
*Issues*
The only issue that I know of at this time is you have to use the settings/personalize/lock screen wallpaper option in order to change the lockscreen wallpaper
If you have any issues let me know, I tested this on a fresh clean stock rom flash then updated to add in the LWP.
*Files*
Clean install of the LWP packages
Select this if you want to install the LWP on a clean install or install without any LWP
Update install of the LWP packages
Select this if you used the previous version with LauncherPro and Home Switcher. This will remove those packages and update to the Sense Enabled LWP.
Thanks! I just flashed it and it works great. There's Absolutely no loss with performance with it either.

* if this file downloads under a different name just rename it to aria-lwp.zip, first time using Mediafire *
Ok lets see if this works =)
1.) Put the aria-lwp.zip file onto your SD Card in the root directory
2.) Access the Clockwork Mod using the rooting methods in the how to root your aria thread
3.) Go to the Partitions Menu and select the first option (mount /system)
4.) Go back to the main menu and choose to install a zip file
5.) Choose the option to install a zip from the SD Card
6.) Click on the aria-lwp.zip file
7.) Once done installing, go back one menu and reboot system.
8.) Upon reboot the home menu should pop up asking you to choose which home menu to launch. Choose the LauncherPro option.
9.) Go into the wallpaper options and choose your live wallpaper, it should work with no issues.
10.) Set up your new launcher, refer to any Launcher Pro threads for more info on this nice replacement launcher.
At anytime you can use the home switcher program to go back to the HTC Sense launcher if you want to use that instead. Same with setting up which launcher is used by default when you press the home button.
If you have any issues let me know, I tested this on a fresh clean stock rom flash then updated to add in the LWP.

Any chance we'll ever get this working in Sense?
Well, that didn't work.
I am still getting force quit
I might needs to do a clean flash.
Ok, I got stock to run, but I also want to get rid of the lockscreen and make it default as well. Any ideas?
Ok, reflashed with the clean install and it worked.
hello ,
can somebody please help ..I am using CM7 AmeriCanAndroid 051211 build and it happened may be due to my fault that i used the old data.img from the previous version. i set my launcher pro as default and it started crashing . I need to set it back to AWD Laucher so that i can atleast get the options to work on the problem.
The launcher pro is crashing but I am sure AWD launcher will work fine .. Please let me know a way to either go the the settings menu or any way where i can atleast start my phone.
download this
install it with droid exploer
press your home buttom
select awd
update it.
done.
thank-you much...
for future reference when something like this happens, you go into settings/applications/manage applications and search for the app you set to default, or the launcher app, open it and clear defaults, then in your case you press the home button and it will ask you again which launcher you want to use, and you could've selected AWD launcher.
so what if you can't access the phon's settings sincs everything just keeps crashing?
as a last ditch, you can boot to recovery and format the data partition. that has all of your settings so, you will have to go through the first run setup, but that should fix your problem if it's just a setting issue.
good luck.
Hi all! I installed romanian orange rom bvkj4, which contains crappy apps and a launcher selector app, along with an orange launcher. i select touchwiz to be my launcher, but when i press the menu button, the launcher selector appears and then i have to select touchwiz again. What can i do? I could delete that app, but i unrooted the phone.

Why? Root it and delete the launcher that you don't want, then it shouldn't ask which one do you want to use as default.

Doesn't it give you the option of setting default launcher?
When you press home-button. it should come up with a pop up for all launchers installed, including a box to tick for the launcher preference...

Reinstall 'ReLaunch' using ADB and then a pop-up will show up asking you to chose the default launcher.
You can also use "Legacy Launcher".
Remember to set up 'Relaunch' under the "home" button in 'quicknav' using 'Nook Touch Mod Manager' once you have it up and running.

Amazing , thanks! Was coming from the 1.0 version Nook that had the floating android menu over the top so wasn't really fully understanding how relaunch was working. This is sooooo much better (floating menu used to get in the way a lot). Managed to get relaunch back up with a restart and have now set the quicknav button to it
