Cm7 Build 32 USB issues... - Wildfire General

I just jumped back to build 32 having signal drop issues and the new kernel now resolving the issue. But now I'm having USB problems such as mounting SD card and wired tether... help please or can someone shed some light on this situation?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App

Wired Tether will not work. It was intentionally removed because it was found that is was that which was causing signal drop issues. However, USB mounting should work fine, it does work here. Are you sure you have not flashed Jacob's HCDR Kernel? That will break USB mounting.

I was having issue in previous build (29 or early), what I do is just simply uncheck usb debugging and my tether works again. Until now I haven't tested my tether after updated to 31.
Edit: usb tether

Ill try that but needs to be fixed really... is this bug in RC3?

Nope I'm using acro's new kernel to fix signal loss but when I plug the USB in the mount screen does not come up.

The work-around doesn't work in build #32 *sigh* moving to RC3 and hoping I can mount SD there...

Miui rom and I love it. Finally my GPS works but now my TV out doesn't even recognize its connected. Any body have any ideas
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
maybe try looking in the topic where you downloaded the rom from it's probably something that doesn't work on the rom yet, I would suggest trying another rom if it doesn't

Well I use the stock app and T-Mobile says is free (for now). You could use other apps like Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether. You could also use the andorid-wifi-teather app http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/. I like the latter of the two the best.
If you don't use the stock tmo app, you should be fine... we won't know till Nov 14th tho...

ive seen a couple people saying they gotten wifi tether 2.0.5 to work fine (before permroot) but it doesnt seem to work for me (kernel does not support tethering)
How did you guys get it to work? correct me if im wrong but temproot/permroot shouldnt have anything to do with it cus its saying its the kernel... (unless this is the generic error message)
perm rooted, with s off, I just dl 2.0.5 pre13
Works fine...

Has anyone heard/figured out how TMo will be "stopping" tethering (update, account sync file, etc.)?
I will not accept an OTA (won't get one while rooted anyway) and have account sync turned off.

this ones a mystery so far... I just dont think tmo would announce the charge then make the change.... I would guess its already done (key word guess but who knows this change could of been made months ago... before the g2's release)
Anyone see a change yet or figure out how they are going to charge for tethering?

Desire HD camera not working

Hi everyone I need help, I am not a noon to flashing etc. However my camera and camcorder have suddenly stopped working, everytime I open either one it just freezes at a backscreen. I thought it would be a bug in a Rom so I switched but It's not working. Tried everything ...if anyone can help it would be appreciated

If you tried another rom with full wipe and the issue is occurring the next think to do is to flash an ruu file.

It night be the kernel

Fixed...for now...I switched to stock sense and it wasn't working, I turned my phone off for the night and when I woke up in the morning it was working. Will have to see if its working on other roms, thanx for the tips though

Have you concluded that the fix was leaving your phone off over night? I have the same issue and have tried a few different rom's none of which have fixed it. I was at the point of returning the phone to be repaired.
I guess I'm really asking, did you do anything else? Remove some software, try a specific rom?
It happened to my camera...but that might be due to the fact that the plastic cover in front of the lens has broken orf and the actual camera unit has taken quite a beating! Works now, I went for a run and when I came back it was perfect
Maybe the running jolted it back into position? Try the same thing xD
Could be that you need to go back to stock and make it like it came from the factory. I wonder if overclocking can damage the camera unit?
I just full wiped and went back on the stock rom, turned my phone off and woke up in the morning and the camera was working switched back to other roms and it was working on all of them.. Hopefullly this will work

if you have changed rom and the problem persists chances are it's hardware related. I have seen a dhd with similar problems, aswell as wifi problems and it was due to overheating. If you took out the battery it would work for a few hours but then it would do the same
Anyone still having any camera problems??

Im having this problem as well. Exactly like the OP. Not too keen on flashing back to stock rom however.
I did see someone mentioning problems with wifi in conjunction with the camera problem. I have this as well.
Anyone with a fix would be greatly appreciated

Been using the HD android revolution Rom for awhile now. Currently on 6.1.3 which includes pershoots kernel.

Usb mount issues

As much as I like XDA the search function is worthless!
I am running samurai kernel 2.0.8 and marcusant revival rom v1.
Plugging my phone into usb does nothing. On my phone other then show charging. No pop ups... PC keeps popping up with unreconized device... Drivers are installed everything used to work fine prior to acs 5.5 rom. Anyone else experiencing this issue or know a fix?
I previously had gps issues that would just not work no matter what I tried. Switching from acs v5.5 to marcusant revival v1 fixed gps on it's own.

Does it show anything in the drop down notification bar? Could be a bad cable. To see if it is hardware or software, backup, Odin to ec05 stock and check it. Even if it recognizes it on EC05 it could still need you to update the drivers.
Nothing shows up there....
Ec05 works great.
I think it's the lock mod. I can't change batteries either. It only boots using this one battery........

[Q] Wifi Tether not working on CyanogenMod7.2.0

I I just installed CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RCO-Epic last night. I have to say this is the first modded ROM that I am running and I love it.
But I cannot get Wifi Tether to work. I tried the Google version and also Barnacle. They both will run, ask for superuser, and they appear to start. But the SSID is not visible anywhere?
Is there anything out there that can fix this? Wifi Tether was working for me on the Stock Froyo (Rooted) but now wont work.....
Any help would be appreciated.

kernel: 2.6.35.7-gae7ed13-dirty [email protected] #1

Thanks!!
flash the latest nightly build
Check to see if your apps are saved to sd card, then move to sys memory(512MB), they should then be visible in your app drawer.......this is one possibility w/ your issue.
Also, as was suggested: reflash, could be a bad dl or bad flash.

Apps are not installed on the SD Card. Apps are visible in the app drawer.
The apps start fine and say they are running. I remember before I flashed with this ROM and using just the rooted Froyo I would get "Hotspot activated" and sort of a bullseye icon on the top. That does not happen, i only get the wifi tether icon on the top.
The build that I installed says on the first page the wifi drivers and such were fixed.
I am new to MOD'd Roms, if i install a nightly and it messes up, can i just re-install the original Modded ROM (both MTD), i konw that is a really basic question, but dont want to brick my phone.
You could also try the wifi tether that Flastnoles11 posted in the CM7 Discussin and tip sharing thread. It was about the 10th page so roughly just under post 100.

Why not use the wifi tether built into settings? That works perfectly fine for me.
