HD2 rotation options and keyboard anomalies

i've searched for ways to open up other rotation angles as well as autorotation for any and all apps under the sun. most people suggest bsbtweaks and it really does do the job, but only rotates to the allowed 270degrees angle (thats -90degrees). effectively, it just adds the window class to the list of window classes that the built in HTC g-sensor mechanism will give respect to.
so i looked some more and found "changescreen" to fit the bill. after setting up exceptions, it works quite well to allow all other applications (except for the exceptions which include sense) to rotate to 90degrees, 180degrees (this looks way cool some times!), and the usual 270degrees.
HOWEVER, the point of this new thread is to discuss something that seems to be quite an attractive option if it can be made to work 100%. i've noticed that the onscreen landscape keyboard is MUCH more usable in the 90degrees rotation. this is because those damned cursor keys take up 0.5 inch of space that is balanced out by the hardware keys on the other side, thus placing the rest of the keyboard SQUARELY in the middle of your thumbs! contrast this with the experience on the default 270degrees rotation where the cursor keys and hardware keys end up on the same side, forcing the user to stretch out the right hand thumb to reach the middle of the keyboard.
the amazing thing is that keyboard really works 99% properly in the 90degrees orientation. the 1% catch? the little preview squares that appear while tapping a key seem to be using a buggy rotation matrix when the screen is in this angle! effectively, this makes the preview squares upside down and on the wrong side of the center line of the keyboard!
so for me, TWO things would make life much sweeter on the HD2:
1. keyboard preview squares should appear right side up and on the correct area near the tapped key in 90degree rotation.
2. i would also like to DISABLE the 270degree rotation altogether and force the HTC g-sensor mechanism to think that the 90degree rotation is DEFAULT. i know i can achieve this partially using "changescreen" but sense will still rotate ONLY in the 270degree direction in the album and music tab. with this tweak, one can rely on the built in mechanism and also be able to enjoy the keyboard in the more comfortable 90degree rotation.
any 1337 h4x0r222 with some 1337 suggestions/tweaks?
some updates...
first, there is another anomaly i didn't notice before pertaining to the thumb friendly scroller that pops up when touching a scroll bar. this popup scroller is also being drawn upside down and on the wrong side of the screen in 90degree rotation.
other updates include:
1. tried toggling HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation\LandscapeMode from 0 to 4, followed by soft reset, no joy!
2. tried toggling HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation\LandscapeFixed from 1 to 0, followed by soft reset...the right handed and left handed options in Screen under Settings->System become available but the g-sensor autorotate doesn't seem to respect the choice set here, so no joy!

[Q] Keyboard dock: Disable tap to click? (Solved)

I hate trackpads that enable tap to click by default. It's near impossible to keep from hitting it while typing, and I often click on things by accident even when intentionally trying to just move the mouse. To me it's an absolutely useless feature, especially with dedicated left and right click buttons already there below the trackpad. I realize I can disable the touchpad altogether via the hotkey, but that's unnecessary unless I have an external mouse plugged in.
Now normally on desktop operating systems, there is a configuration utility for enabling and disabling advanced mouse features. This is not the case with Honeycomb, and Asus didn't see fit to include their own third party app for handling it, either. What options then do I have, if any? Can tap to click be disabled?
Edit: There now exists at least one custom kernel that can permanently disable tap to click. Grab it here. There are no options yet for those that want to be able to enable/disable on the fly.
You can't disable tap-to-click, but at least you can disable the trackpad completely (top row of buttons between bluetooth and screen brightness).
Considering you can use the TF screen as a touchpad, this should solve your main problem; as it did mine.

or pick up a Bluetooth mouse.
Yeah, I ordered a Bluetooth mouse yesterday. It would just be nice to have some more control over the existing hardware.
There's an API to disable it, but not updated for 3.1 yet. Afaik it's being integrated into the custom firmware too...the thread's around here somewhere, lol... Sorry, too new to this!
Just wanted to update on this issue. A dev by the name clemsyn posted a modded kernel that disables tap to click. This permanently disables tap to click until you flash to a different kernel, though you won't hear any complaints from me.
You'll will of course need root and a custom recovery, and I run it alongside the PRIME! v1.4 ROM. Grab the kernel here.

[Q]How do I disable pointers or touch events on my CM7.2 Nook Color?

Nook Color running CM 7.2 just started showing X and Y coordinates for touch events and don't know where the pointer option is located to disable this. I've gone into the Developer section under the apps, and there isn't a section there to remove or disable this either. Where might I find the option to disable this feature of seeing the X and Y coordinates and crosshairs when you touch the screen?
In effect, my 4 year old, who's tablet this is, never said that this effect was enabled, and it only happened in the past week. He doesn't know how or where he enabled it, and honestly, that makes sense because the desktop is locked down. He only has access to certain icons for his games, can't get into the apps or settings without the password, and always has to bring it to his mother or myself. There is even a firewall with the same basic setup. It's locked down.
I've gone through what I believe an exhaustive check through every option and just cannot find the pointer options like I can on my other android devices.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for this. Even though this isn't where it was, I found an icon for Dev Tools, I went into Development Settings, and there was a pointer location/no pointer location drop down. Totally different from what everyone else kept telling me, but it just happened to be under another section and option.
Thanks for the nudges, otherwise I would have reset the thing and started over. It's been running for years, and now I know what he got into... .just don't know how.
Thanks again.

Not registering all input taps?

I recently picked up this tablet and overall I really like it. However, when doing games though (like clash of clans), it doesn't seem to register all my taps. I increased the mouse pointer speed, but it didn't seem to help. I read on other forums you could change the settings for the "increase tap sensitivity" but it seems the tablet doesn't have this option. Anyone have any suggestions or maybe a developer option / build.prop edit ?

[NST/G] Soliciting ideas for Quick Settings Tiles app

Version 1 posted here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-touch/themes-apps/app-quick-tiles-t3904002. Please direct all requests, comments, etc., to the new thread.
I've been slowly working up to an implementation of quick settings tiles for the NST/G, with my various menus for the Reading Now "button", WiFi, and Alternate Power Menu. I now have what I would consider a beta app which brings user-configurable (within limits!) quick settings tiles to the NST/G. As conceived, this app could be assigned to the "clock" (current WiFi Quick Setting).
Trying to stay within the typical scope of quick settings tiles as implemented on current Android systems, I've mainly looked at connectivity and display. I don't see any reason to create another "launcher", although I have made exceptions for display modes such as NoRefresh and FastMode.
These are the options I have now:
WiFi (long press is the WiFi settings menu)
WiFi + Sync (for GApps users; long press is the WiFi settings menu followed by sync)
FTP (accesses ES File Explorer Remote Manager for wireless transfer to and from PC or other devices)
Screen rotation
Screenshot
NoRefresh
FastMode2
Set Cover (sets screen"saver" image to current read book cover)
USB Host
USB Audio
I'm looking for other things that people might want while I continue to test and debug before I package up a "version 1". As of now, there are 8 spaces for options and you can arrange the tiles you choose in any order you wish, including fewer than 8 (i.e., blanks). In theory I could add another row (or remove one) but that is not a user-configurable option

Thank you for your work on this, it is greatly appreciated. I will install in the next few days and tinker.
A couple of observations (I don't know if they might be relevant to your app, in the sense that you might be able to implement these "tweaks" as a tile.)
1. Can NoRefresh be used Nook-wide? I know it has a whitelist, but can it include every single part of the system so it doesn't deactivate when you move around? For example, it irks me when I'm in eBookDroid and upon selecting the Outline (Table of Contents) NoRefresh deactivates, so I need to re-activate it.
2. The other one is the Screensaver. Why on earth isn't it possible to have a screensaver which just leaves the page which was active in the moment the Nook goes to sleep, maybe with a small translucent notice saying something like "Press n to Wake up Device"? This seems much preferable to putting up a screensaver with some artwork on it.
3. I haven't yet installed your app, but upon pressing a tile, if there would be a floating context menu (for example corresponding to different options for an app) it would be great, but it might defeat the purpose of simplicity.
In any case, thank you!

This is a common problem with NoRefresh on changing views. To my knowledge it's just the nature of the beast. Sometimes you can simply do the taps again and it will come back. Sometimes it gets knocked out completely and needs to be retoggled. That's what the quick tile is for. You would not want it "on", certainly, all the time. Besides not looking very nice it would consume a lot of extra juice.

Actually, someone did look into this. You can read about it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2694245

Not sure what you have in mind for context. The tile items are meant to be quick settings/modes/toggles all collected in one place. Essentially just a tap and you're done. Things like NoRefresh, for example, have configuration apps as well, but that's not what the tiles are for. And besides, at the moment I have no idea how to do what you describe
