Yesterday I try updating the battery widget from HTC Hub. It uninstalled the older version but would not install the newer one. I kept retrying and it only downloads but doesn't install. I tried to install any of the other HTC Hub widgets but I keep encountering the same problem with all of them. Does anyone else also have the same issue? Can you try downloading a widget from HTC Hub and confirm. Any solutions? I really want my battery and tasks widgets.
PS. I'm unbranded and still on 1.32 so its not the new OTA update.
I have the same issue and I think it may be something to do with my current problem of having to force quit almost everything the first time I run it..

i wrote htc some days ago and they said its because of htcsense.com and hub features are so new..they'll need some time to fix the problems.
i could download "fake call" from htc likes..but not from htc hub.
same problem with all updates though.

Turns out all the widgets on HTC Hub are on HTC Likes, just use the search function to find them. They install just fine from HTC Likes.

I have been having significant trouble getting my new Aria to sync with outlook. After some hopeful searching I have determined that this is not an isolated incident. I have tried a few of the tricks and processes for syncing that others have had luck with, but nothing seems to work. Most people who get it working appear to be using version 2.0.38 and those with issue have version 2.0.33. It would be easy to determine if it's just the HTC Sync software version, but it is no longer available on the HTC site. The only thing I can find is version 2.0.33.
If anyone has a copy of 2.0.38, a copy would be appreciated.

That was it. It looks exactly like the section of HTC i was at and even the same link. Every time I tried to access it it took me to a support page instead of directly downloading. Wish I talked to you before I lost 3 hours of my life on that issue.

I've been having trouble with HTC Sync & Win7 also. I have tried version 2038 with no success. Even tried on WinXP and it wouold not sync, is it possible there is an issue with the phone?

I began to think that there were problems with the phone also when I couldn't get the sync to work. After rooting issues and the problems with sync I have chalked it all up to bad drivers sticking in windows.
If you installed any version of HTC sync other than 2.0.38 it will give you some problems. Try uninstalling sync and all drivers for the aria from windows. Start fresh with the 2.0.38 install and see how it does for you. I had to clear out everything and start clean after I go the link for 2.0.38 from the above post.
I no longer seem to have any problems syncing or going to boot loader.
One thing that worked for me was after installing HTC sync all my apk files now have a Google Android icon. So I double clicked em and it started an installer. Then as soon as I did that my HTC sync started working. I had been fighting with it for two days as well.
And the app installed no problem.

THe website does not take the serial number of my phone. I live in the US and my service provider (in the U.S.) is T-Mobile.
Any clue what I should do ?

They are no longer showing in the market so I'm guessing it has something to do with that.
Just a thought, but I''m thinking that HTC pulled all of their widgets from the Android Market and is moving them to the HTC hub.
It will be interesting to see once we can get some ported ROM's from the Desire Z if that is the case.
It's working on my wife's EVO not sure why it wouldn't work just on the EVO shift.
I don't think HTC ever had their widgets in the Android Market. I have the original Evo also and I remember a while back some of the Evo users ran into the same issue and it was a problem on htc end in which they had to send out a update that fixed the issue.
I assume everyone is unable to download widgets under the "get more widgets" area of the phone. If so, I'm 100% positive that this has noting to do with the market whatsoever. Me personally, I'm not having any problems with facebook sync or whatever. Although, just like other evo shift owners, I'm unable to download the other htc widgets such as profiles, tip calculator etc.
I'm just gonna sit back and grab some 3rd party apps from the market that does the same thing.

I know on my Hero I downloaded the battery widget and Today in History directly from the market.
HTC had several widgets for download via the market.
Actually, I remember the Hero having this issue as well. It was eventually fixed, but by then I was on custom ROMs.

My evo is charging now so I can't do it. Maybe someone with an evo can download all of them, find their apk's and upload them somewhere. Of course try to install a few on the shift and see if they work first.

Battery was tested and appears to work. Mirror if you want to keep sharing. From an Evo.
The last two have odex so I don't know how to deal with that so I included them anyway.

I was able to download the HTC widgets directly from my shift. Maybe it was just a temporary issue.
I've been googling around but haven't found any simmilar symptoms:
On my stock desire z after browsing certain websites (the desktop version of Pocketnow.com is one in particular) when I exit back to the stock sense home (rosie) I get the green htc logo and "Loading...". I know this is rosie crashing in the background and recovering.
I'm using the stock browser. I'm also rooted but haven't upgraded to 1.72 yet, and wouldn't want to unless I could be sure it will solve this anoying issue. And I also read about some nasty sms bugs being introduced in the newer version...
It's probably not an adobe flash problem, because I have it set to on demand and other websites that are heavy on flash don't cause this.
I have a lot of apps installed, but almost everything in the internal memory, so it's very probably not a widget on card kind of problem.
I do have the stock htc bookmarks widget (with webpage thumbnails) on the homescreen but the same happened when I removed it temporarily.
I could switch to an other launcher but I like the htc look and feel
Anybody else with simmilar problem? Any suggestions to fix this?
I had this problem and it was quickdesk causing it. Don't know if you have that installed or not.

No quickdesk, and i did a quick overview of my installed apps, and I don't think I have any simmilar task switchers (other than the one built into the pull down status bar on the desire z). But thanks very much for your suggestion!
I did another test however, the same thing happens when I use a different browser. Browsing pocketnow.com with XScope Lite resulted in the same sense crash :-(
Just had a notification that new widgets are available, battery, call mom, coin flip, fake call, notes, quick record, sand timer, tasks, tip calculator, today in history and daily challenge.
A system update would also be nice the same time.
Anyone else have it?

Try installing it via HTC Likes - it worked for me there, but not from HTC Hub. Failing that, i'd upload the apk if someone knows where it downloads them to.

Since the last couple of days I get a notification that the HTC Hub has updates for me. When I go in I see one of my plugins (Translator) shows an update. Even though I select to update , it keeps on showing that an update is available.
I experienced this issue before with the HTC Media link plugin too. To date there is no solution how to fix this.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
I saw this problem yesterday, I got a notification that the battery widget had an upate, went to download the update several times but it does not work, I eventually uninstalled the battery widget completley.
I'm in the same boat. I really miss my battery and tasks widget. Can they be downloaded from somewhere else?

and the same as yours: i get the notification that there are updates..so i download them, the dhd seems to install them but i get no "succesfully installed" and everythings the old again
