Go in to Applications > Manage Applications > Market > Clear Cache. Then reflash and you should have it. The Market is constantly being updated by Google though, so it might not work with the newest market.

Android Market Force Closes

I'm having a problem downloading and updating apps from the Android Market. As soon as the download is complete and the phone tries to install the Android Market force closes. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? My N1 is rooted and running CM 5.0.6.

Go to settings>applications>manage applications>market then clear cache and uninstall updates.
Come back to home screen then go into market, accept the T&C's and download your stuff.

Thanks man it worked. The only thing is that I have to do it every so often. It also takes a lomg time for anything to show up (i.e. searches, downloads, and just browsing)
Thanks
Worked for me too
Thanko you!
Finaly!
I didn't need to uninstall updates. I fixed this by just clearing the data in the application. But yes, if an application hangs at install it seems to screw up the Market app.
Mhhh. Yesterday had an app (Volume) that was stuck on installing an app ... for hours.
Thanks! Fixed my issue.
Thanks, worked great

Am I missing something? When I goto settings>applications>manage applications>market I can clear data and clear cache but I can't uninstall anything.
I cleared both the cache and data but once I except the terms of service it FC again. And I still have the issue with FC after every install or uninstall.
Anyone care to chime in here? I'm still having issues with the market crashing even after clearing data and cache.
Also I notice the market will crash after I set my USB connection type to data (connect to the computer).
WTF!? i have tried partitioning/formating the sd card and reinstalling cm6.1.1 and everytime i login to my google account and go to the market IT ALWAYS CRASHES! i dont have anything but 2 purchased apps that are not installed. clearing data and such does not help. even tried to reinstall cm6.1.1 with and without hdpa gapps but the problem is still there. i have flashed roms countless times and this is a first. makes me want to get a blackberry now.
Worked, but now I have the old version. Does it upgrade itself?
I've installed new rom and when market updates it crashes. I did wipe chace, unistal update and yes it works. I get back my old market. But after few minutes it updates itself to new one and I'm back at the begining.

Where is your Market update installing to - /data or /system?
Sorry but I'm new here. How can I see where updates are? Do I need to go to recovery and find market folder somewhere in -data or -system?
You can use a file browser and look in /system/app and /data/app to see if the Market is there - however, a better option is to use Titanium and use the batch options to "Integrate updates of system apps in ROM".
Once the Market is back in the /system it should behave a lot better...
-data/app folder is empty. I found Marketupdater.apk in -system/app. I'll try this Titanium and report back how are things.
Ok I've fixed it. You just need to select english language in settings and it dosn't crashes anymore.
PS: Sorry for bad english.

This is the solution for most market FC issues. Someone should pin this.

Metamorph crashes market

I'm trying to install Metamorph (and hopefully reskin the entire phone), however, each time I download it, the market crashes when it tries to install.
Any ideas?
Update: This occurs on any app that I try to install.

How to turn off Market auto DL

Is there anyway to turn off the automatic market downloads that occur whenever you flash a new rom?
Whenever I wipe everything clean and install a new ROM I like to start with a fresh slate and selectively install apps... I HATE opening up market and seeing that its already auto downloading 80+ applications

When you flash a new ROM and it takes you to the setup screen just 'skip' setting up your Google account and it won't auto d/l, or you can go into settings/applications/ and force close the market app as well.
I do the former mostly, and use Titanium Backup Pro to batch reinstall my apps..Or sometimes I'll just leave the phone on the desk and come back in a 1.2 hours and it's all done. Either way works.
I have the opposite problem. It won't auto install any of my apps on a clean rom. Anyone know why?

[Q] Paid App will not Download from Android Market

Hello I am using TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 v2.4.1 this is an awesome ROM but I have only one issue and that is 1 app copilot will not download and install. I have and HTC HD2 running TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 v2.4.1 and it says downloading in status bar and that it stops and no message why. I can install it using other Android Roms just not this one but this ROM is to good to give up. Any suggestions on what else I can try or is there a log file where it would show me why it would not download? Thank You
This sometimes happens with Android Market. I wouldn't worry, just keep trying. You might also try rebooting your device, if that doesn't work, go to Settings > Applications > All Applications > Market > Clear Data and Cache. Then restart market and try again.
Yesterday morning, I had this same problem but 20 minutes later the 5 apps I was trying to update all downloaded without a problem.
PS - You do know that you can only install Copilot on one device at a time? If you want to transfer the licence to another device, first you have to 'Deactivate' it on the old device.
RE - Paid App will not Download from Android MarketArrow
Thank You giving it a try now.

market, download list is empty

Finish updating to version CM6 1.0.2 and entering the market, appeared all applications that had on the movil, but after installing a new app, it turns out that the above are gone and there are only 4 app's on Market dowloaded list of where are they?
i also have the same problem b4, so right now i always back up my market updater first and then market app using TB. i think the problem is i oftenly use ATK while market still updating online...
if ur still in eclair try this : close market first maybe use atk, then go to manage app, clear data / ca cache for download mgr, checking svc, all Gmail & Gtalk, and clear cache for market. if it dont work try to clear data for market..
if ur market still doesnt show any app that u already install(should be installed&download from market).. sometimes it needs to update online (not sure how long) ..
if ur using custom rom, checking svc wont available at manage app, and gtalk & gmail only shows 1 app each. at eclair gtalk & gmail appear as 2 app each..
sorry 4 my bad english.. just trying to help..

my market also didn't show some apps (stock 2.1) but it was a google issue. My best guess is that they're having problems with market while opening the buy options to new markets.
My problem resolved it self after a week or two from showing no apps to 2-3 apps, and then after a week or so they were all there. Be patient =)
Premium versions of Titanium Backup and MyBackup root have an option to link apps to market.

i suggest u to backup ur ROM first, then try to restore ur eclair Rom (if u already back up), then try to do what i told u b4, after that try to download again.. if its succes, back up market updater and then ur market using TB. then u could restore ur Last ROM again. i did this to my friend who use floyo 0.25.. and its work.. still, just a suugestion

Try to clear data and cache. I did this few months ago and it helped.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928080&page=2
in that app, select the market app (in the lost list of apps)
a popup shows, select wipe data
when done, press the back arrow, then menu, then market doctor
follow the prompts to restore broken market links
go to the market, accept the disclsore
everything should be okay now.
thx for the link.. now i dont need to back up my market data again...
