Hi, has anybody managed to successfully install windows mobile 7 on a British (virgin Network) hd2?
My phone is about a year old, here are some misc details:
RAM SIZE = 576mb
OS Version = 5.2.21913
Rom Version = 3.14.405.2
Radio Version = 2.15.50.14
I hope this helps.
If anyone has a good idea of what versions of the following should work; hspl, magdlr, radio, rom/os etc, then please help me out. Any help is much appreciated thanks in advance!

Essentially it should work on all phones. Its the principle. So don't worry about it and just do it. Also browse development searching for roms to find the one which best suits you and go for it. You won't regret it.
PS I don't think it will unlock your phone but you may be lucky
no simlock
idont think virgin uk simlock there phones.
good luck with the w7 flash, thats my next task, played about with android enough.

I have a British Virgin network HD2 and the WP7 ROM's all install just fine.
I started off with the DFT original ROM when it first came out and currently use the XBmod rom. Everything works as described through this thread.
I need to run the connection setup app and change the provider to Virgin to get the data to work properly but other than that everything works fine out of the box. Even the SD card supplied by virgin is recognised and used.
Any other questions give me a nod.
The only issue you may potentially get is the operator will show up as T-Mobile, I have flashed a few HD2s on Virgin Media with this showing up, there is no problems though everything still works fine, Virgin Mobile is just a virtual network sitting on T-Mobile's infrustructure.

I can confirm this.....
Except it's got the telstra rom on it that restricts certain settings/functions... but u can easily get rid of it...
I am using one here in the US. What a wonderful phone, thanks to our Aussie Bros that I can use this phone on att US./
Not locked.
any sim works on it but you won't get full internet pottential until you change the rom. I tried a 3 mobile sim when i 1st got the phone, i had reception straight away but no internet. but as soon as i got rid of the telstra rom & retried my 3 sim, everything set up in an instant just as with a telstra sim.
You might want to look at flashing a generic HTC rom, as it will pick up the new provider settings if your using another countrys sim.
First you will need to remove the spl and install a hard spl

I would download hspl2_run.zip and install 2.08
Then get the htc rom

1.72 WWE should do the trick.
Hope this helps.
Hi,
I bought a T-MOBILE HTC HD2 unlocked and use it with the chip carrier OI (in the city of Brasilia in Brazil), if I use the upgrade version 2.10.531.1 to 2.13.531.1 available on the T-Mobile, it can block my only device for use on T-Mobile, or continued unlocked for all carriers.
Software Information appliance:
the version
5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
manila version
2.5.20121412.1
rom version
2.10.531.1 (82076) wwe
rom date
02/22/10
radio version
2.08.50.08_2
Protocol version
13.54.50.07u
T-Mobile HD2 U. A. E. ROM with 1024 Mbytes
Bootloader:
PB 81 120 SS-B3
SPL-2.08.0000 x 8g
microspira (led) 0x05
Microp (touch) 0x40
For now, for personal reasons, I would try upgrading to the newer version is available at T-Mobile, but I'm afraid to lock the device to the other providers (eg HI I use currently). This possibility exists or can I upgrade and the unit will continue unlocked for all operators?
I appreciate any help.
Including how to put a new ROM in Portuguese, that is, if one exists. How is the procedure?
Pardon me if I'm posting in the wrong place or am doing something that is not in accordance with the rules of the forum. If you please notify me so I will not repeat the mistake.

i havent unlock and i dont want to lead u the wrong way but make sure your hd2 has hspl done allready and probably dont have to upgrade but the radio and u dont have to mess with the rom just my suggestion lol
sorry in advance u are allready hspl i think do ur research
it will be fine. changing the rom has no effect on sim/network lock.
Hi, I also have the t-Mobile HD2 & I unlocked it; but, I can't upgrade to T-Mobile's new ROM because it doesn't recognize my phone as a T-Mobile phone anymore. Is there a way around it in order to receive the new upgrade? The only thing I can think of is re-locking it to T-Mobile, upgrade, and then unlock it again. But that seems kinda crazy to me and where would I find the T-Mobile lock code. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

what does the red bit mean? do you mean when you enter your serial number into the t mobile website to get the update?
two things, firstly, thats very odd, normally when you unlock the network it has no effect on the rom lock. None at all. (Sure you are getting your serial correct? )
secondly, theres abound to be a mirror around here somewhere.
I have and unlocked Tmous HD2 that I mainly use in T-mobile network but when I travel to South America I use the phone with Movistar (Uruguay and Argentina sim cards). I updated the phone to 2.13 and it didn't lock the phone, the phone is still unlocked and the Movistar sim cards works just fine as they did before.
I hope this help you.
ok.
Okay folks, it worked, everything was right! Do not block my hd2! Many thanks to all.

buy a code or ask the operator who sold you it. there is no free unlocking.
I want to flash my HD2 but I am not sure if the simlock will cause any problems. I did some searching but i only find discussions about unlock your phone with a flash.
(Before somebody asks, I know, that a flash and a cooked rom will not unlock your phone.)
The most useful post i found is posted in the samsung forum: klick
It only refers to Galaxy S, but this might not apply for HTC HD2.
Could you tell me please: would cause a flash of simlock phones any problems (brick etc.)? I am referring to smartphones generally and my HD2 especially .
Thank you for your time and effort!
No problem at all, you can flash what you want.
Before flashing, it could be a good idea to check which stock ROM is on your device, in case you would have to go back for service issues. I don´t know what your HD2 from "3" comes with, I think I have seen in another thread that it is the HTC stock ROM - but with simlock, as you mention.
The only thing you might miss (don´t know if this applies to you) are sometimes some operator specific apps, or some pre-settings - especially for large operators which offer many different contract options.
But: At least basic settings for most operators in each country are existing in stock and custom ROMs. In the worst case, you´d have to make some settings manually.

Thank you for your answer. My HD2 comes with following software specifications:
OS-Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82) / WM 6.5 Pro
Manila-Version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM-Version: 1.66.407.1 (76641) GER
ROM-Date: 01/11/10
Radio-Version: 2.07.51.22_2
Protocoll-Version: 15.32.50.07U
The HTC download should be _HTC HD2_RUU_Leo_HTC_GER_1.66.407.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe
As far as I know this is the official stock rom and not branded. In my opinion there should not be any specific apps or pre-settings.
My phone is only simlock but not branded.
Yes, the ROM you mention is exactly the one you should/could flash in case you would have to send your HD2 to a service center.
I myself keep exactly this ROM as a copy on my harddisk... you never know.
Happy flashing then!
.51 ratio, no good to flash. better get a .50

I am sorry but I do not know what you mean with your post. What is . 51 ratio? Are you referring to the radion-version, which is instalt on my phone?
If yes, I have already flashed the lastest radio-rom on my phone. As far as I can remeber it's version is 2. 15.
Hi fellows,
I searched a while but could not find a solution for my problem...
I am using a HTC HD2 branded and "locked" by T-Mobile Germany.
Using my S/N I can not download original HTC-ROMs.
So my only option is using TMO-Roms from their website... :-/
I want to install NAND-Version of Android because WinMo is so embarassing. Especially the "Marketplace" is really NOT good... -.-
I tried to follow the manuals on your pages, but I can not find a hint for my problem...
Do I have to "break" anything to get any other Rom running?
I found sth. called "GoldCard" but... oh my god... Very complicated!
I hope you guys can help me.
It would be awesome.
Thanks a lot!

Hspl4, choose 2.08.hspl
can now flash anything, but use USB, not SD.
you will want to change radio first as things needed for android require high version radios. Go for 2.15.50.x radio.
If your current winmo rom is version 3.14 you wont need to change radio.
I've the same phone:
HD2 HTC with german t-mobile software, but it is not branded on the cover.
Also it says it has 512mb of rom and 448 of ram
SO I think it should be the EU HTC, and i should use rom and guides for the EU version
Can someone pleas confirm me it is the european version?
I don't want to brick my phone the first time i change the rom ahhaah
search the hd2 nand android forums and there should be a sticky for it
this was originally leaked by Football, here

Thanks... I saw this on Windows Phone 7 dev. forum and was going to mention it here, but you beat me to it! DL now, not sure if I am ready to flash yet. Any idea how I can get rid of HSPL on my HD7?
HSPL to SPL-XXXXX
i understand that if you install or flash your HD7 with the original ROM it will reset your SPL-XXXX , I hope that answer your question
Is this Rom will work tmous HTC hd7 developers unlocked?

IF YOU have hard-spl'ed your device
Then this can be done:
Download the RTM provided by Fotball, extract it with in 7zip, delete the spl_signed.nbh (not completle sure if this is needed, but I did it anyway...delete or not at own risk, as always)
flash the rom
And here is where the warning about hard-spl and SPL versions 4.xx comes in, if you want to go back to using hard-spl,
DO NOT DO THAT WHEN USING THIS NEW RTM MANGO ROM
You MUST flash back to your stock rom and then flash rspl+hspl again.
In my case stock rom is: RUU_Schubert_TMOUS_3.01.531.02_Radio_5.65.09.25a_22.45.50.21_Signed_SCHUBERT_RELEASE.exe

Any easy way to flash my HTC HD7 T-Mobile USA
all the processes listed so far seems pretty easy. you need some help with something?
Hi all,
Can I just confirm something here - I've read through the two threads, and its not immediately obvious.
a) if I have no HSPL at all - is this fine
b) if I have 7200.68 upgraded from developer version (without the new HTC radios etc) will I need to flash to an earlier version
I'm pretty sure I've used one of these to update before, seemed easy enough and I didnt install HSPL to my knowledge.
Cheers,
Everytinme I try and run this I get Invalid Vender ID.
It was an O2 Branded HD7 then used the no goldcard method to unbrand it with NOdO
Error 294 INVALID VENDER ID
BOOT LOADER SCEEN:
SPL-1.69.2250.0 (117833)
os version:
7.0.7392.0
Radio version: 5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10u
Any suggestions to get this working?

Hello,
Use this method.
Worked for me in NoDo and now with this Mango Rom
Thanks,
Santos
Where tethering (internet sharing)? how activate this options?
Upgraded from MS Developers RTM to this version am now getting screen corruption on lock screen (typically if the zune player, in sync mode is open behind it).
Anyone else?
Gordon.
PS Am using gold card method (used Zune update for MS update).
Are people using this leaked ROM and is it working well? I am considering an upgrade to it....
my Phone works great with this rom...battery drain is better than RTM,and my hspa signal is improved,as web surfing
I have the 707 region phone. Is it possible to update my phone by this ROM for 401 region?
Original RUU can't detect my current version from bootloader and lets me to press Update button (current version infomation is empty). I didn't applied any RSPL/HSPL. Can I just press update without a possibility to kill my phone?
Any other mirrors for the file?
Thanks

I have the TMOUS HD7, why is the 2100 UMTS band so slow??? any one knows the reason? The phone can manage to get the H signal from where I live, my operator has the HSDPA band 1 UMTS 2100Mhz(currently upggraded to HSPA+), but my phone only gets UMTS speeds no HSDPA
It makes me feel that the 2100Mhz UMTS band in the TMOUS is limited to UMTS speeds.
