just wondering if any one has flashed a fresh SBF and it fixed any problems you had?
if so...
what sbf?
what issues did it fix?
Thank you!
I flashed 1.2.6 and it cured everything that had been jacked up by flashing roms.

I flashed 1.2.6 also, and it fixed my issue where nothing would pop up at all when I connected my HDMI cable.
what are the diffrences in the official sbf and the leaked one?

I'm on the 2.3.320 leak, not going to .340 until an SBF comes out.

if you're on tranq 3.5.1 you're already on .340
I guess I am glad I didn't upgrade to .320
Sort of....
I had no idea Tranquility 3.5.1 had 2.3.340. I donate to several ROM teams (why not) and I am looking to see what Team DeFuse does with Fission 2.3->2.x build, hopefully it will include 2.3.340 soon. I really like the speed of their ROM.
so basically this .340 update is the same as the leak version? so if i manually somehow updated to this .340 am i able to use the latest sbf file?
3.40 is not the same as 3.20!
Personally, I'd like to know what the difference is between the two. I have the 3.20 leak and the 3.20 sbf but can I use them once i go to 3.40?
If there is any difference in .320 and .340 (beyond Madden of course) it isn't readily apparent. Someone can try doing a diff on the system files between Tranq 3.5.1 and stock .320, but the bootloader and kernel are the same. The baseband hasn't changed at all since 2.3.15.
When is the update going live?

As per Droid Life>>> DROID X 2.2.1 Update Will Be Available Tonight?
My question is, will I see the update?
I have flashed the leaked VRZ_MB810_2.3.32_1FF_01.sbf, I am not rooted and haven't removed any apps.
If u updated with TBH leak version you will have to wait for there patch or fix or whatever it is they are doing before you will be able to get the OTA.
I just got the DX update. I never signed up for the feedback network either. I pulled it.
Anyone know if we should hold off? dont want to lose root for good....
can you post the zip please?
Installed the update and lost root. It's also rebooting into clockwork recovery after powering down and back up. Reboot system option works. I was just rooted, no ROM or themes.

Afraid I don't have this. I do have a nandroid backup and the .320 sbf. Can I restore the backup or flash the sbf if need be? Don't want a bricked phone...
Am pretty sure that I am booting into recovery because of how koush's bootstrap works. It was installed and since I don't have root it can't complete it's thing. In this case it might be a good thing
Z4root is supposedly working, try that.

Why would you flash the ORIGINAL build's baseband on the latest build ???? Doesn't common sense tell you it won't work ????
To fix your issue, you need to flash either the DJ05 or the DL09 radio, which can be located under the android development section of this forum.
I think he meant that he's never flashed any radio newer than DH12, not that he downgraded the baseband. If you just flash the DL09 radio, you should be fine.

Yeah if you want the latest flash dl09 not dl05
if you wanna know what the difference between the two then google it lol but yeah

This gets flashed via Odin, in the PDA section.

This should be all that you need. If it still doesn't work, try flashing the full DL09 package, then installing your DL30 rom/kernel.
FYI for those having Text\SMS issues like sending texts and them showing up blank on the receiving end and not receiving texts, I installed DL09 (was on DI Radio) and it fixed them right up! My wife is happy she can use her Fascinate again she was stuck on her old droid all day and wasn't happy
Thanks for the help guys!!
Flash the DL09 radio using odin and you'll be in business. GPS is darn near spot on too!

Woops that came out wrong. I meant flash the latest build ON TOP of the original baseband.
Going on 2 1/2 hours now.. Nothing but problems... I got all the way to installing Liberty, restarted, and got stuck at the Liberty boot logo.. Now I'm having to SBF back to 2.3.340, root, back to GB leak, then try again... I wanna pull my hair out and throw my phone against the wall...
Did you clear data the first time?

Yea, I've done it all. Nothing seems to be working. Sbfing back to 2.3.340 AGAIN!
Are you trying to flash a deodexed or odexed version of GB? if so you need to flash a rooted version of the official ota updated before flashing the custom GB.
If you are SBF'ing back to 2.3.340, then you might as well give CM4DX (CM7 for DX) a try. The beta was released yesterday, but of course, there are bugs that still need to be worked out.
I'm really loving it though...
Isn't 3g broken on it?

I'm gonna wait until they fix all of the bugs. I just got Liberty last night, but didn't realize there was a new version for GB. I just posted a thread about an error I'm getting trying to sbf to gb. Anyone know what this could be?

Thanks!
Today my friend, who also has a Defy, called me up and told me that he bricked his Defy (motherboard failure according to him) because he flashed *sbf files about 4-5 times.
Is this true that this happens if we flash sbf files too many times? Because I've flashed sbf files about 6-7 times since I purchased my Defy (because it was soft bricked)
Please answer.....

which sbf did he install?
Tell him to install official Indian Froyo 2.2.2 from http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/HRXSSAXE/
Nope... I flashed sbf quite a few times...
But then I have not tried new 2.3.6 sbf... so hopefully ur friend hasn't flashed that...

He actually managed to get his phone repaired from the service center. It was hard bricked as per him.
I was just wondering that what he said about flashing *.sbf files was correct...

He said that he had tried ROMs like MS2GINGER but I don't know whether he flashed the 2.3.6 sbf. I never flashed any of the Gingerbread sbf files. And even I have flashed Nordic repeatedly because of soft bricking as mentioned above. Just wondering whether doing this again and again would take me into the same situation as him....
Flashing over and over again won't do any harm (using the phone causes more stress to the flash memory cells than flashing it).
The worst things that can happen are:
- you are flashing a non-downgradeable image (but then your phone would still work)
- you are running out of battery while writing the image: In this case your phone might not be able to charge the battery again. but even then: you can charge the battery using the mc-guyver method. (cut off the plug of some usb cable and attach it directly to the battery)
okay, so I flashed the CM7 (prefinal) ics rom and all was well for awhile till i decided i was sick and tired of it because it seemed really laggy and imcomplete, so I figured I'd go back to stock 4.5.91 and to do so, you have to (atleast to my knowledge) RSD flash it to your phone. So i did, and my phone is now in the infamous infinite bootloop. Now I know there are already a million threads on this, but this is the first one (ive seen) that has THIS problem and got to it THIS way. I dont know if CM7 prefinal updated to 2.3.6 and you cant go back or if you cant flash back to stock period. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
Did you do an OTA update to gingerbread?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
You should have flashed a fruitcake via recovery instead of rsd. It is safer. However I believe I also got a bootloop when going back to stock via a fruitcake. Can you get into recovery?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Yes, I did the OTA update to 4.5.91. If it matters (which I don't think it does), I was rooted and unlocked, I had the CM7 kernal + prefinal ROM installed, and tried to revert to stock 4.5.91 via RSD. Maybe its because I installed the kernal? And I can get to stock (worthless) android recovery.. actually scratch that, I can get to the triangle with the ! in the middle, but the menu wont pop up...
psshh is this a joke? I finally figured out to access the dumb stock recovery (yeah i know, its common knowledge) and formatted cache/system and it worked! What im trying to figure out is why it worked..... o well.
lol great i was going to suggest flashing.a fruitcake they are closest to stock without the pitfalls of rsd light
