Hi, unfortunately I"m back again with another problem ...
Randomly my camera locks (marked as gray) the other Focus Modes (Macro, Infinity, Auto) and keeps only the Continous selection. The same happens also with the Camcorder. Randomly.
The Camera app is located in the Phone memory.
And, ehmm, the Camera.apk I using is from the Cyanogen mod 6, that with the Continous AF in Video Recording (delicious )
Thanks for the answer.
If i'm correct, this happens only when u select a different scene mode instead of using "auto" option.
Yes, you are correct Thanks

Hi all,
I tried to put the flash (light) for a picture, and I have an issue... The flash is lightening before taking the picture, so it's useless ...
Do you have the same issue ?
When I turn my flashlight on it stays on until I turn it off.
It stays on, but it's brighter on the moment the picture is done.
I've tried to make photos in front of a mirror to see if it is lightening before taking the picture or not. In my device (HTC TyTN) the flash comes just at the right moment, so it's not useless, but the shooter sound comes about 1 second after the picture is really taken.
Do you have a lot of applications running? probably your device is running slow and that's why you're experiencing this. Are you experiencing the same issue just after a hard reset?
Yes maybe, I'm going to try the mirror test
I have the same problem
The flash light it is NOT syncronized with the capture moment.
I think the question here should be;
When is the capture moment?
Pressing of the button does not coincide with the shutter sound or flash lighting... This is probably as the flash lights when button is pressed, at which point the device starts image transfer and the shutter sounds after picture is complete (try moving camera after shutter has sounded and before)
I recognized yesterday when I shot some photos - flash was set at "auto" - that I got only had black pictures...
Anybody knows a solution for this issue?
move your finger off the lense?
sorry, I just had to...
have no idea. I'd say it could cause some software fail which could be fixed by SoftReset? maybe

What was your battery level like, I know when my battery level is low (sub 20ish percent) the quality of the camera and flash (and the final result) is reduced.
really weird, didn't put my finger on the lense and battery is full. if I make a picture with enabled auto flash, the first photo is always black. if I switch off auto flash and enable flash then I have a normal photo.
if opera is running I get memory error of the camera application, also if I have around 133mb of free ram.
I have finally moved on from my GS3 to a GS5 and as a few others I am dissapointed in the camera app - specifically the video portion. I have read around about the low light issues but my biggest issue is shooting video in lower light. My old GS3 which my wife now uses turns the LED on if flash is enabled on the camera whilst shooting a video but I cannot figure this out for the GS5 - anyone care to help?
thankyou
Turn the flash on first then start to record. It will come on automatically.

flash issues
So I found out the real issue is that the flash module is broken! I have tried the following:
- reset filters
- force close and app data in camera app
- full factory reset
- Super LED app and stock torch app
None of these have worked, cant find a teardown for the phone so I think I am out of options. The HR sensor works but the flash I am guessing is the big white square next to it.....any other ideas? there is a loud rattle coming from the area, but this seemed normal according to a few other posts.....
Yesterday i received system update (SKYW1905210OS01MP2). After update to the latest version camera become can't focus.
i tried to use manual focus or pro mode still can't.
Anybody facing the same issue?
Sorry it's of no use, I am on the same system build as yourself currently and tried to recreate the issue, but I've not experienced any issues with the camera focusing. tried with all the camera modes hdr on/off so on/off and ai on/off but the focusing always seemed fine.
Sure now I've typed this Al experience it tho lol,
In certain video modes (normal, short, timelapse) my Mi9T tilts and flickers the picture to the left on the screen. It's really weird because after installing any 3rd party camera software it works normally.
Any thoughts?
Update: meanwhile it turned out that the image stabilization is the culprit - with IS off it is ok but once I switch it back it happens again...
