[Q] Dell Thunder

Sorry guys for invading the Streak thread.
So today, I got this Dell Thunder prototype, it's running 2.1, and like, its got the neocore, and the emlist software and stuff.
It looks like a cross of 1.6 and 2.1 android stock.
I have AT&T and I am wondering how to use EMLIST to get 3G to work?

UPDATE: I have finally rooted(Universal Androot), copied the filesystem, and taken pictures(lol).

absolutely we want every file on the phone..please.
seriously just in case.

get the output of mount command over adb and ill give ya comands to dump the system partitions

Edit: I realized I need to have androidsdk for the adb tools. So once I connect it to adb, What to type in? Oh, this phone doesn't work with z4root.

the real question here is how'd you get your hands on it?

On that note, you may have to hit the "Go-Root" button twice for it to work.

Craigslist. It was unlocked when I got it.

Does it work with AT&T 3G, or T-mobile 3G? And can we please see some live pictures of it?

Wow that's a nice phone. Engadget previewed that phone a few months ago. Can u take pics of the actual phone and post it here? That phone was rumored to b released with the Dell Lightning, the Windows Phone 7 version of the Thunder.

You know you could just go to the Android market and do a search for SIM manager.

Don't u think I tried that and its not on there, tried 4shared but its not instlling for my phone

There are a couple new roms in the development section,that,have fixed this for you. Go flash one of their roms to get netflix. Or there is a more complicated post in,the dev,section called workaround for netflix, but I think ppl were getting only,sound with,that so your choice.

i have a problem flashing other roms my data works really slow and i have the correct apn settings, i also tried the tread workaround for netflix but it didnt work.

How does data effect flashing..? Dl it on your laptop and push it to your phone..

Then to answer your own question, no. I'm sure if there was a simple work around EVERYONE and their brother would be posting it. Android Central, BGR, Android and me, and a couple of others.
If you've tried changing the build.prop and it didn't work. Then i wouldn't plan on it.

Root .sh method D:<

I cant seem to get rooted with this method?! Simple as hell but for some reason my phone wont perma root. I got visionary r14 select the first and third check boxes then hit temproot. Then (already put the proper root files on root of SD card)
I go to terminal emulator put in the commands then I get the not implemented error then it does it business. I turn off go into recovery as directed to check if s=off but nooooo s=on. Wtf? I'm using the unlockr guide. I already tried the xda one

Neither did mine, so use the TRUE PERMAROOT and ULTIMATE S-OFF guide. Uses gfree

Nahhhh I'm the original Hector-Zeroni. That Guy you're thinking of he's the phony. Well anyways I have a rooted g2x so no stress an when I'm like that its the best so I have one rooted one I can deal with that an no less and also this phone technically isn't mine so I don't wanna brick it and get in that mess

Only if the device the rom is for is a 4g device.

OP, this is an HSPA+ phone. If you can get 3G, you can get 4G (H). The icon just isn't in framework-res.apk. Most likely, the phone it was ported from was a 3G only phone. Hence, no icon.
Ordered my Nexus 4 on the 13th. Still waiting.

Right you are, you get the speed just not the icon. Sorry about that

So you can help me change the framework in this Rom so I can get the 4g speed in it. That's my only flaw in this Rom

Jesus Christ, the ROM maintainer just said the speed is the same. Also, no. You would obviously screw it up as it requires reading and you're obviously not willing to do that.
Ordered my Nexus 4 on the 13th. Still waiting.

:highfive: Read Educate And Develop (in that order preferably)

App for Google Calendar and Sync Fail
First of all, great ROM!! Excellent. My only concern is that I can't get access to my google calendar. If the Fliq calendar can do it, I can't find the setup other than buying the missing sync software, which I'd rather not do. I've tried multiple apps from the play store and even pulled the calendar.apk from CM7. No joy. Also, the calendar sync fails with a sync error. I've tried reinstalling the ROM after a full wipe and hard resets, no luck. I can't find anything here or online that seems to address this, but I figure I'm missing something simple. Any help. Thanks in advance.
Edit: Never mind. I found that if I put the file in for the Joy Calendar sync, everything worked fine. My wife loves the ROM. Thanks again.

Also Rom gaap doesn't work whenever try to download something. Have to use Blackmarket. Really love someone to continue working on it could be the next good Rom out there.... Just saying
