Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App

You can change your world region. When you do it, your tab will factory reset and wipe everything.

where do you know this code from?
btw: u can alter the code by simply navigating (with a file manager that knows root) to /system/csc and edit.the salescode.dat to what you want, reboot and you have the new region without data loss

That is true and doing that will change what is available to you in the samsung apps, and I am sure other things too.
CWP, XEU, KOR (they have to be upper case letters) are a few to play with.

I saw the code in the phone thread for SGT, thanks for the list. I will issue a thanks when i get home

These are for all phones, so some won't work with the tab.

thanx for the codes.
just used the last one for GPS testig. If you go to Apliccation Settings using this code you can turn on Skyhook. Anyone has an idea what this can mean?

Good stuff! Mods should consider "sticky" this.
Anyone tried playing around with the GPS setting? Saw one segment about accuracy, it stated "50". Will increasing or decreasing the value improve the GPS connectivity?

Great info, OP. Thank you for this.
Comprehensive list of codes for Samsung phones here: http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/WEBPROTECT-samsungmobilecode.htm, obviously this is for all Samsung phones and some might not work with the SGS.
Also explanations for some codes here: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f258/samsung-galaxy-s-working-codes-1046184/
This thread does need to be made sticky! we need an expert to tweak those settings!
is there a code to get into the sim lock menus

i will update the list
This is the first thread I've rated, I gave it a 5.0, I encourage everyone else to give it a positive rating so it can get attention and maybe get a sticky.
This is so good.
But, I have one quesstion.
Where did u get all those codes??
While everyone certainly appreciates this thread (and please rate it so!), this thread will most likely not be made into a sticky. In my opinion no forum should have more than 4 or 5 stickies, so space is tight.
This thread is referenced in the FAQ as the answer to question 25, 'what are the secret codes', and thus users searching for these codes and who read the FAQ (as they should) will find this thread anyway.

Like to add this for GPS :

I am from India, GPS works only if under clear sky that to after few minutes.

there is a code to change the default language.. good if you do not want it to start in russian every factory reboot/firmware update.
I can't remember the code.. anyone have it?

[REF] SGSII "Secret" Codes to read IMEI, Product Code, Change CSC, etc...

The following codes can be dialed in the dialer in order to perform various tasks. I have classified the codes by category for easier retrieval.
!!Entering the service menus may void your warranty. Only use these codes if you know what you are doing!!
Those codes have been in use on the Samsung Galaxy and although I have not tested all of them, those I did still work.

Note sure if the other thread doesn't have appropriate tags, but it doesn't pop up in the search, suggestions of similar threads or google.
The main difference between both threads is I have sorted the codes by purpose.
It seems some codes are only in the other thread and vice versa. Hopefully these can be joined.
Yes that was my intention as the original was not tested .

Will these work on the 7.7 tab or only on original 7 tab?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
These are generic to android. Some will work on all devices, if they have a dial pad. But that doesn't mean any setting can be changed.

Hey Amigo, I still enjoy my at&t tab. But I use a gs2 as my phone and tether the tab for reading, web surfing, etc. I always look at the new tabs, but this one is very hard to surpass.
Very cool... Thanks

Nope, that's because it's a generall list for android and some features aren't available on the Tab...

Use the dialpad.... If not on the screen look in the drawer for a "phone" icon

Hmm, some of this look useful, will give them a try just out of curiosity.
Hello All,
Does anyone know how the engineering menu is enabled and if these codes are valid for all Samnsung Tablets? How about the Galaxy 8.9 LTE?
Thanks,
GeN
very cool. thanks
Thanks for the codes, but somehow only a few work on Samsung Galaxy Tab2 (P3100) india
I was trying the WLAN test but it didn't worked out.
Don't know what is wrong with my tablet, it won't turn ON wi-fi after some update or don't know what went wrong exactly.
did Reset from Stock recovery and it didn't worked out.
Service center in my town doesn't have diagnostic tools or even the ROM and are hopeless and helpless.

Among all those 58 key codes, there is one which is very important for every new owners of SGS3. That key is *#0*# which is a general test to find out basic current state of phone’s LCD. We knew that LCD is the most important aspect of a touch-based smartphone. Anyway, just give it a try..
