Just did root manually on SPRINT GT - Galaxy Tab General

I used the method in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859712 and used the su named su-v3
I have a mac and was having trouble getting the Gtab recognized in Windows under VMWare Fusion
Im on build EA24

I had to redo most of the root procedure after the update to EB28, but I am rooted again.
Now to freeze some of these Sprint apps.

Help me with busybox?

Hi there guys and gals,
I just rooted my s5 running NK2 by Odining down to NCG, installing towel root and then Odining back up to NK2. I downloaded root checker which says I am rooted, I have downloaded es file Explorer and been able to write to SD, and I've downloaded TI backup and deleted all the Verizon bloatware on my stock samsung rom, but when I tried to install busybox, I get an error that reads "I am unable to verify if certain utilities this application needs to function are present and functioning on your device. This could be the result of a device being misrooted or a supersu error. Please try again".
I've tried rebooting the device,
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling busybox and haven't gotten any improvements.
Please let me know if you can help!

[5.0] [GalaxyS5] [Root] Rooted properly?

Hello everybody,
recently I updated my Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) to Android Lollipop 5.0, After that I downloaded CF Auto Root and it looked like it rooted perfectly, it rebooted in the screen with the red android pirate thingy and after that it rebooted my device with SuperSU installed on it. Then I started downloading some root apps to see if it worked. Root Checker said my device was rooted and then I downloaded GameCIH, it asked for root access and I granted the root access but when it was done loading it says: System Deny to Root. I searched the internet and found out that GameCIH doesn't work on Honeycomb or above, so i tried downloading SB Game Killer or Game Guardian, but both asked for root access but crashed after a couple of seconds so i tried re-rooting but when i opened SuperSU it sayed: There is no SU Binary installed, and SU can't install one. This is a problem! If you just switched to Android 5.0, then you need to re-root your device manually.
Can anyone help me with this problem, because I dont know what to do?
You use the latest ODIN to flash CF-ROOT ?
3.10.6 is latest iirc

Have you got busybox installed. Some apps need busybox. Install it from playstore and install busybox.

Root may have failed, need help please

This is my first time rooting. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, model SM-N900P. It's running Lollipop 5.0.
I downloaded Odin 3.09, Samsung KIES Captivate, and CWM Recovery. I followed instructions from an article on android.gs, called "How to Root Galaxy Note 3 N900 on Android 5.0 Lollipop using Odin".
I'm pretty sure it went wrong when I had to put the CWM recovery file into Odin. Beforehand, when I tried unzipping the CWM recovery file, I found the contents to be corrupted, so I assumed I wasn't supposed to unzip it. So i left the CWM file unzipped. It was called "n9005-cwm-recovery-6.0.4.7-kk(0125).tar".
So when I ran Odin i just selected that file, and Odin said it worked. My phone asked me if I wanted to root and I said yes. Everything seemed to have been working like the instructions said. And when my phone booted up, and I opened clean master, I found that I could now disable apps from auto-starting, a feature that requires root access. (I didn't actually use this newfound feature, so I'm not sure it actually works.)
But SuperSU wasn't installed, so I found it in the Google Play Store, and upon opening it, I was left with the message: "There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!" and the app closes if I dismisses the message. Also, I downloaded Root Checker, which told me I had not properly rooted. I uninstalled both these apps.
Am I just one missed step away from a complete root? Maybe I unplugged my phone from my computer too quickly? Or have I messed something up? How do I fix it? Do I just proceed to root again normally, or do I have to un-root somehow, or do I do a factory reset, etc? I don't know what I'm doing. If I've given too much information or too little, sorry haha.

1. The custom recovery you installed isn't for your device. Use this ONE.
2. You should downgrade your device coz Cf-Auto-root only is working till android 4.4.4 (KTU84P.N900PVPUDNH7). And root it with this FILE via ODIN.

So I can't do this on lollipop?

Rooting VZW Galaxy Note 3 on Linux?

What options are there for rooting a VZW Galaxy Note 3 running Lollipop on Linux? I do not have a computer running Windows.
I too have been looking for this. With my new-to-me VZW Note 3, I ended up borrowing my wife's laptop with Windows to obtain root. The ArabicToolApp doesn't require installation, only the adb drivers to be installed.
Dr.Android's FI_ROOTE utility looks like a compiled script. With sources it could probably be written to run equivalents in bash/perl or another Linux capable language. From what I can see it flashes the bootloader, runs some exploit, reflashes the bootloader before returing to the OS.
I used the towelroot app to root my note 3, then installed SuperSU. I kept my stock with root but you can download Safestrap for recovery and installing ROMs. I'm also still running KitKat not Lollipop so check to be sure this will work for you.
I tried towelroot and it just told me my device wasn't supported.
