Well,I just had nothing better to do and decided to download and update to the newest busybox 1.19 using Busybox Installer.I m on Floyo 0.15 with the latest baseband etc etc. After doing that, the phone restarted and never quite managed to boot into Floyo again.I just flashed the 015 baseband again using X10 Flash Tool but still nothing.I get stuck at the white SE logo.
No xRecovery,no nothing. The phone just doesnt boot. Its stuck on the logo.
I know I screwed up.Maybe someone can help me?
Thank you in advance!

seriously, when u're using xrecovery u should not update busybox..coz xrecovery rely on the first busybox u've install..
And actually it's written on first messege in topic, where you get xrecovery. It depend on version of busybox =\
Why can't you read whole 3 first posts of topic?
Reflash phone via SEUS and next time be careful.
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
Obviously I missed that!
Also every post refers to a busybox version that doesn't exist.
1.7.1 is NOT 1.17.1!!! ;-)
No easy fast fix anyway. :-(
If anyone gets at this point,
its Seus repair time.
Then X10 Flash Tool for rooting
and xRecovery installing and
then you can restore your ROM.
Thought it be good to share.

I had exactly the same problem yesterday, PC companion doesn't work for me, so i tried SEUS, and it works !

ok guys i have completed this for all you rogers customers
this was completed on a rogers locked streak
these are the steps i took
i rooted mine using universal androot (real easy !)
installed fastboot drivers
nandroided using clockwork recovery (the one that worked for me was 1.8.1.7)
then i flashed back to stock recovery
then flashed 02 1.6 (build 4399)
then flashed 02 2.1 (build 8105)
restored apn setting
now im just gonna see if i should do the hyde's 2.2 but from what ive read apps go missing in market so im gonna have to ask around
but yea for all you rogers heads it has been done !!!!
Good job, That's the exact way that I did it. It only took 10 hours or so to finally figure it all out. The one good thing about it is, it was good learning. I came from using HTC phones, they are super easy to flash ROMS with. This streak is a little harder, at least having flash over so many times.
yea i came from a g1 so i know the deal
I sent you a PM asking if you have your nandroid backup handy. If you do can you mirror it somewhere to help me out? I can't find the Rogers build 7921 anywhere to download.
can you make into a update.pkg ?

I actually don't know, but for backup reasons (warranty) it would be nice to have. I can look into making it a pkg for flashing without clockworkmod. Thanks
Ill send it to you by pm gimme a bit

Hey there! I'm so close I can taste Froyo.... but:
Would love the help of some of the more experienced here. I'm at at dead end.
Goal is to get to Custom 1.4.6 Froyo ROM. Currently I get stuck on a blank screen after trying a O2 1.6 (4399) update from a restored stock recovery. I can restore my nandroid 7921 backup but it come up with a number of errors so not feeling to solid about that. Also says baseband unknown (see below).
What I have done so far:
ii. Rooted with Universal Root (I think - rooted for sure, not sure exactly if it was UR or another, but it said it worked(after 2 trys))
1. Setup Fastboot mode with no problems (no driver problems just worked)
2. Installed clockwork recovery v1.8.1.7
2b. Backed up using nandroid
3. Used fastboot to apply dsp1.bin (720p video) and amss.bin (baseband?) updates for 1.4.6
4. Flashed DJS Froyo 1.4.6
Result was installed fine but on attempted boot the classic stuck at Dell logo. Pretty sure I left it long enough (about 15 min or so). No luck.
5. Restored 7921 backup. Worked but LEDs were flashing (baseband miss match?) and received a 'battery error' (battery charging disabled).
Then saw this thread realized the path to take = Rogers 1.6 -> O2 1.6 -> O2 2.1 -> DJS Froyo 1.4.6 so have set off on that path.
6. Installed Stock Recovery with Fastboot
7. Attempted to flash O2 1.6 (4399). result was a blank screen for a long time (left about 15 minutes)
Soooooo....
Just to prove to myself I wasn't screwed I have since fastboot installed clockwork recovery and restored 7921 nandoid back-up. Only problem seems to be an error stating "sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext." It boots now but has that battery error still about not charging.
What I believe I should be doing (goal is still to get to DJS 1.4.6) is:
1. Restore recovery to stock recovery and flashing O2 1.6 (4933)
2. Flash O2 2.1 (8105)
3. Fastboot the recover to clockworks
4. Flash to DJS 1.4.6
But not sure how to get past my blank screen after restore of stock recovery and attempted flashing of o2 1.6 (4933). Have tried 2 different stock recovery images and 2 different o2 1.6 (4933) pkg files.
Would appreciate anyone who can show me the error(s) of my ways.
Thanks so much.
Cheers.

yep you should of flashed 02 1.6 first then 02 2.1 then upgraded to 1.4.6
if you can still get to recovery then you should be able to get things running again
my advice would be to try to get your baseband back to normal , not exactly sure how maybe you could find an alternate , also i think that you sd-ext could be solved by re mounting it in clockwork recovery ,ill do what i can to help you , baseband flashing is new to me
Hi guys i just installed this ROM Vibrant_AOSPish_JK2 on my vibrant and all was perfect. Then i tried to condition my battery. Turned off phone with power cable connected and tried to go into recovery mod but phone stuck at vibrant screen. I pulled power cable turned off the phone and turn it on regularly and all was fine, then i turn it off again without power cable connected and it stuck again on vibrant screen. Then i went to ROM Manager and boot to recovery same thing happened phone stuck on vib screen. And now i cant turn it on anymore it stuck on vibrant screen every time. I tired to pull out battery... What should i do? Thanx in advance
Are you using the three button combo? If so and its still not working, try downloading quickboot from the market.

With the phone hooked up to the computer pullout the battery, sim, & sd card. Then try to reboot into recovery with the volume rocker & power button. Hope that works, good luck!
You need to install busybox to be able to boot into recovery in that Rom

I can't turn on my phone thats the problem... I tried the magic combo without luck... I had busybox installed. Maybe the problem was because i didnt have cwm properly installed. I renamed cwm installation folder to update.zip and that run it from 2e recovery. After that i can access cwm but need to repeat the procedure every time.
Finally i succeeded with Odin to solve my problem. Now im on stock rom again. Only this time i installed cwm 2.5.1.2 trough ROM manager but phone still goes to default recovery i dont know if this is normal? I want to flash to Froyo Rom where i can find clear tested version? Thank you guys for replaying and trying to help

I'm running cwm 2.5.1.2 also, and rooted with froyo+voodoo lag fix on vibrant, phone's running great, just trying to get rid of bloatware right now, my recovery boots fine, I wiped everything then reverted back to stock 2.1 when I had issues then updated through kies to 2.2, ran super one click root, and ran voodoo through odin, got rom manager from market and recovery worked perfect. hope this helps

the problem is, the AOSPish JK2 rom doesn't install busybox properly. You'll have to reinstall AOSPish jk2, then before rebooting, install busybox from the market. then it'll work. (the EXACT method has been described in the AOSPish jk2 thread many time, but hasn't been updated in the op)
I know for the busybox process i did that but something went wrong obviously. I repeated the process and for now everything is ok recovery is working. Thanx for help guys i appreciate that
Hi
I have a Xperia X8. When I bought it, the phone had Android 2.1, So I decided to install Froyo 2.2 following all the instructions from this forum. (Unclick, unroot, xrecovery, etc) The installation was success and I was using 2.2 until today.
Well, today I tried to install 2.3 gingerbread using the same way that I used to install 2.2 (In fact I just put the new framework in the phone's SD card and then I installed it using xRecovery)
Ok, It installed successfully and after finish, I reboot the phone (always on xrecovery)... Here is the problem: It rebooted and It shows the typical SE logo for a few seconds, and It reboots again doing the same **** lot of times... I don't know whats wrong...
So I have to do a restore from xRecovery and get back to Android 2.1...
Then, I tried to install 2.2 (thinking that the 2.3 was the problem) and happened the same problem. Its really annoying, and I don't know what more to do... I tried using "Sony Ericsson PC Companion" and nothing happened.
People I hope you can help me, 2.1 really sucks...
Thanks

pull out your battery, put it in and repair with SEUS. and never reinstall busybox on custom roms
DO NOT update busybox. The version you installed previously would be v1.15 or something. Running the supercharger script has nothing to do with it. The busybox thing happened to me as well Repair with seus, root it, install xrecovery (the earlier version) and restore your backup..
I've recently upgraded from Froyo Pro to GingerDx V019. My phone was working perfectly alright. I loved the rom, it was fast and almost bug free.
My phone was having CWM 3.2.0.0 so I decided to upgrade it to 4.0.1.5 I downloaded the file CWM-recovery-4.0.1.5-e15-Amend.zip and flashed it through XRecovery. After flashing, when I rebooted the phone, my phone refused to start. It just got stuck at Sony Ericsson Logo. I removed the battery and started it again but problem is not solved.
Guys please help me to recover my phone back.
the problem is that gingerdx is not compatible with the newer cwm
you have to restore the older cwm
simply flash the update.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=616283&d=1307259517
in recovery then your phone should boot again
PS: sorry form my bad english and tell me if it worked
If you can enter xrecovery, flash back GingerDX v013 or you can restore the backup that you have make one. Last method is to use SEUS Companion but you must have a really good broadband connection to download its but then you need reroot back your X8
Thanks djnilse and phoenix883 for the replies.
I restored my phone back to eclair 2.1 using SEUS. Re-rooted it and again upgraded back to GingerDx. The phone is back to normal now.
Other problem I'm facing now is playing video on 2.3. I tried 2/3 apps but none of them are working. Any idea which apps is suitable?
For video, you can try Moboplayer, but you need to convert if the format is other than 3GP or MP4 at 320 x 480 res, futhermore X8 is so bad when it play H264 codec. At least it must be above than 720p because we dont have 1ghz cpu. To download youtube video, you can use tubemate. Cheers
to play videos on your x8 with the integrated video player
i personally use the sony phones converter from dvdvideosoft.com
just select Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 in the options and the quality u want
(sorry that there is no link, cant post links yet)
i tried vitalplayerpro and rockplayer from the market both work flawlesslesy no need for wasting time in conversion i just directly drop movie on sd card and watch it
should have know this before
have wasted many time in converting
i gonna use this in future
thx buddy
) if you at least have tried, now you know
Sent from my XPERIA X8 using XDA Premium App
Well, VitalPlayer worked for me but for playing 3gp files only.
Rockplayer just get FC on my GingerDx V019.
I have the same problem. When your phone stuck after CFW 4.1.5 instalation at SE logo just go to xrecovery(pressing back button). When you enter the xrecovery than you must to install GingerDX v0.19 again. When you installed them than you must to click Reboot with CWM. When you reboot your phone you were entered in CWM 4.1.5 !

I tried all that, but my phone just refused to start or even go to XRecovery. That is the reason I'd used SEUS, to restore the stock os and upgrade to 2.3.
