[Application] APK Edit- Edit your apps - Galaxy 3 General

With this little program you can simply change icons of your android application.
It even lets you change the applications name.
But wait mike..... there's more.....
It even lets you edit the text used in applications.
Thanks goes out to:
Brut.all for creating Apktool, the backbone of this little project.
Requirements:
Java & .Net Framework 3.5 (Why build on one platform if you can build on two? I know, I know....)

ChARMeD - Disassembler for ARM CPU

Hi,
This is the program i mentioned earlier,
IT IS STILL IN BETA
so it has a problem here and there,
but i had only three days to work on it
when i get a chance from work and university i will try and add the analyzer *gulp* etc
let me know if it looks useful, pm me or post reply
(oh and if anyone is interested in hosting on the web pls let me know too)
(i hope posting this here is ok)
thanx for ur interest toenailed
latest version available at
http://carolos.za.net/
charmed on ftp
hi,
also put charmed.zip in root of ftp
tnx .. carolos
i was looking for a Good dissassembler from ages now ......
i will try it and give my feedback later.. ( )
anyway i will split this post ..
and put it in Developing and Hacking section ..
so other can see also your app ..
tnx again .. n looking forward for your future upgrade especially the analyzer .. .. tnx so much
-toe
it works!
It seems to work pretty good! Great job man!
carolos,
will it be too much to ask you for a small program to delete files and/or folders for WM2k5? Something like the old AutoRun.exe-Config.txt program; where you can list the folder/file names in a file for deletion.
If not, does this already exist? Could you point me there?
Thanks.
hi acmorfe
hmmm...
to tell you the truth
i started playing with windows ce 2.0
then i left portable devices until recently (about a month ago)
because i got a phone that has windows ce 2003 se
so i am a bit rusty
but if you want a program that does it on the phone itself
there was like ms cmd for pocket pc or something like that
i think you could possibly make it run a .bat or .cmd file on execution
and i think you can add the that to the registry of your ppc
i wont be able to write anything anytime soon...
because
1) i dont have the ms sdks
2) they are too big to download
3) internet access is really expensive here
sorry i hope info helps, good luck
Charmed BETA 0.2
hi,
gee 59 downloads already...
well i hope everyone who downloaded beta 0.1
will download beta 0.2
added 17 mnemonics
and fixed some mnemonics that were too restrictive
for full info look at help

Re: Charmed BETA 0.2
Why are you developing this program? You cannot make anything that would be as useful as an IDA (www.datarescue.com). You'd better spend your time on IDC scripts or developing a processor module for ARM if you don't like IDA's builtin disassembler (which is really great in 4.80).
didn't everyone at one point in their live write their own disassemblers?
http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/disassemblers/
willem
@mamaich: I just wanted to point out the same thing.
the only sence of making a disassembler - is to integrate it into a really useful program for all PocketPC developers: a good and stable debugger.
http://www.datarescue.com/idabase/wince/index.htm
i beta tested it, i works very nicely, much better than the evc debugger.
willem
@itsme: Very nice. How are we supposed to wait till "Q2-Q3 2005"?

Carolos, thanks anyways.
Guys, what programming language would you suggest that i study for programming stuff for PPC (WM2k5)?

hi again,
c++ (embedded c++) would probably be the best
because you can do anything u like with it
but there are other options
c# and visual basic (visual studio 2005)
but they rely on the .net frame work, which is kinda like the java Virtual Machine, only microsofts version, it allows them to port applications to any os easily (even mac probably if there is a .net vm for mac)
good luck

charmed was intended to be a debugger...
but disassembler must be finished first...
oh yah and ida is not 250k
i knew about the new ida with remote debugging
even before i started charmed
but its not free!!!
Charmed BETA 0.3!
hi
toenailed requested some upgrades
charmed now has an export to .html and .txt
and a search
yay!
does anyone want this program???
please post if you think its useful else
its gona stay at 0.3
it was never supposed to go beyond 0.1 anyway
i wrote it for my own use and 0.1 was good enough
Thank you very much. I like it. As you said, IDA is not free, hence the reason I don't have it. Now to just figure out how to make small changes. Thanks for your hard work.
@carolos: Why don't you start a new project at sf.net? So others might help and someday it may become better than IDA - who knows.

GSlide 0.3 - Now with MortSupport :)

Hi Everyone
Try my new GSlide version which has built in MortScript plugin support
http://81.93.138.210/GSlide
I bet you can make some cool things with this
Also please try to make some skins. Still have some bugs in the skinning support but it works pretty well
Give me comments!
Ciao,
Lars
hallo, just found this. a smooth and fast fingerfriendly file explorer. very good.
but here are my problems:
- can´t open a txt-file file or xml file, but need a text editor, is it possible to link these files to totalcommander ?
- the app crashes (unexpected error)when i try to open the "windows" folder and "own videos"-folder ?
- what are these functions/apps at the right bottom ?
thanks for help. if you want i can do a skin for it.

It actually used Word Mobile by default when i tried openning a text file.
it runs very very smoothly. nice interface. very simple and straightforward.
obviously just a beginning as there's no copy, paste, cut... advanced config and other options. maybe a small kinetic toolbar throttlelauncher like with the most important actions on it?... just throwing stuff in the air.
very very cool.
nice start...
implement what already been stated + maybe some smoother transitions.
I love your program. It'll probably be a free alternative for Resco Explorer in the future. Keep developing and listen to user feedback.
One feaute request: I'd like to have the option of row height. This program will mainly be used with thumbs and not everyone has the same thumb size.
@nir: i know i can open txt-file with word but i rewrite xmls and txt-files for programming.
anyone elso has a crash when opening windows folder ?
Hi
Thanks for your feedback!
First of all, replace the old installation with the new 0.3 version.
Regarding opening files:
By default GSlide uses shell execute, which is to say the default windows association for the file type.
By adding the MortSupport feature i have made it possible for you to add custom actions by writing or modifying scripts in the actions folder. Read more on the site
GSlide has problems with large folders such as the windows folder. The memory runs out. This can be handled by paging the directory (splitting it up into several pages).
Regarding errors for the context shortcuts, its mostly due to different file paths in the operating system. In the swedish version for example My Documents is called Mina Dokument... Go to the /GSlide/actions/ folder and edit the "GSlidePath.mscr.inc" file which is the place where all system paths are stored. There you can change the paths according to your config.
Regarding skins:
Lot of updates have been made such as,
- row height
- background color
- font
- font weight
- etc...
I will keep updating GSlide with many cool things Help me to write cool script actions! Post to web maybe?
Dont forget to use the latest version!
Ciao,
Lars
New API script for all GSliders
I made a new, more logical API include to make developing of actions easier.
I have also added a "copy file" and "delete file" action as proof-of-concept.
the GSlideAPI script is pretty nifty if I might say so it implements a Object-Oriented looking code style to MortScript. check it out
Ciao
Just tried it and it seems to run pretty smooth. I am sure this is just the beginning for this app. With time this could be something very useful and great. Good job so far
Some suggestions for new versions:
- possibility to show the taskbar
- scrolling looks good, BUT it is a little bit difficult to stop the list and click on the right file - perhaps you could build in a gesture to stop (e.g. short tap on screen => stop)
- of course such basic things like "rename", "send" etc. (file size...)
BUT GREAT WORK! GSlide is a tool which fills another gap for a fingerfriendly Windows Mobile
Thx
Melkor
edit: Nevermind
Updated version coming shortly
hi
New GSlide on the way soon. I have been focusing on getting friendly with MortScript for the last couple of days
I will make a new actions menu with improved usability and make it possible for an action to span several steps (such as copying or moving files to other directories). the pure UI bling and skinning related stuff will have to wait a bit
Please give me feedback concerning the MortScript API.
Ciao

Interested, yes !
(is it a .net lib?)
Yep, interested if easily used in .NET.
What are you basing your library off of? Direct X, GDI, Open GL, ect.
And what language is it written in?

It is C++ library, but we can create DLL and write .NET classes for easy usage.

We'll create DLL and write .NET classes for easy usage - it is not a problem.
Our library uses standard WM libraries: DirectDraw and ImagingAPI.

a bit offtopic:
For AlphaBlending and semitransparent PNGs ImagingAPI not so fast on WindowsMobile.
I have tried compare: ImagingAPI vs AlphaBlend with loading PNGs using libpngce.
Loading a lot of graphics ImagingAPI wins (i'm think linpngce not so fast with zlibce) but drawing semitransparent PNG with AlphaBlend API faster that using ImagingAPI. Also exists solution use ImagingAPI to load PNGs and then draw it using AlphaBlend, but this way uses more memory and a bit more time for load images because AlphaBlend need perpixel modification of bitmap for semitransparent image drawing.
ps: comparing using two devices: Diamond and Touch HD.
pps: easy to find ImagingAPI C# wrapper for loading and drawing transparent images (perpixel semitransparent images most interest, because simple transparent like GIF can be loaded and drawed using more fast API)
pps: But your library will be very useful for developers, i'm think. Also i what to test it, if it be on public test (for free software )

We are using ImagingAPI for PNG loading only. For semi-transparent blitting we are using our optimized C procedures.
We going to prepare a library for publishing in a week. I will update the post.

Nice, waiting for the release
Nice idea, i think lots of developers on this forum would be interested in such a library, since they have very good and potential ideas that can be developed and they wont have to worry about the visual effects and concentrate more on the core functionality... nice work!
waiting for the release
I'm also interested.
This would be amazing! Please share! Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the reply
put me on the queue!
Any idea when this is going to be released? I am patiently (not really ) waiting
Count me in
Me to this would be ever useful
Very nice work! It will be perfect if we can use with C#.
Waiting for the release
Doesn't matter to me. It was slow and unresponsive on my Touch Pro anyway. Good luck.
WMGL is released!
WMGL is released and available for download!

Please see original topic - I've updated it.
Waiting for your feedback!

Creating a today plugin

Hello everybody. I am a programmer experienced in various languages. I want to create a very simple today-plugin, a launcher. It should be touch-responsive, to gestures to be more accurate. Target platform is Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro. I don't want to use wrappers and user-made frameworks and stuff for this, I want to write a professional app. .NET Framework is okay but I don't want to use technologies that are not made by Microsoft. Period. Okay now what I need to know is how do I do this? First I need to know which apps to get. I suppose I will need Visual Studio? Which Version? I'm downloading "Windows Mobile 6 SDK Refresh Kit" at this time. How do I proceed? Is there any sample code? I'm not looking for a huge file. I would like a quick success. Maybe I'll go into some more detail: Basically I want a fully transparent plugin, 480 x 480 px. Users should be able to move their finger from the center in 8 directions and the plugin will then launch the program associated with that direction. That's it. I hope you can help me with this. By the way, I have used the search function and I have found some threads and followed most links I encountered but it's not up to date or not what I want, so frogive me for posting another thread.
hi,
First of all, you can't use .NET Compact Framework for Today Plugin development. It has to be C++ native code AFAIK because it's a .dll - you can't have managed code DLLs.
You need Visual Studio with Smart Device Project support. I'm using VS 2008 Professional, because that's the only version that has it. Standard, Express etc doesn't have that.
You'll need that WM 6 SDK you're already downloading.
Visual Studio has a very nice Device Emulator if you don't have a device to use, but you need to download device emulator images with windows mobile 6. It's somewhere on MSDN in separate package.
I don't have any experience in today plugin development, but I'm sure you'll find a lot of resources and articles about it on:

I DID see this thread, but I don't want to search download install and configure 20 apps out of which I only need 2 for my purpose. Thanks to grzegorzaksamit for the information. I will organize VS 2008 then. Any other help regarding the actual development is highly appreciated!

Themeing for all Windows Mobile handsets

Hi,
I'm currently using ThemeGenCE Developed by Benoit Thonnart. Here Thanks Benoit for a great app.
I am having trouble understanding all the screen resolutions.
When I design a theme it would great to make & Export to all Windows models. Is this a crazy idea?
Things I need to understand:-
I cannot see a pattern with the DPI over the phones 96/128/131? I guess it is important otherwise the Background image will be wrong.
Screen types Standard, VGA, QVGA, WQGA
Exporting - when to use +Inf +Xml +Inf +Xml
A simple Cab Package program - tried and tested for themes.
Is there a ThemeGenCE workflow somewhere online? If not, can we start something here? Maybe 10 step guide for each model!
Thanks
