do you have to log in to Amazon to get the app? I didn't see it on the market when I did a quick search.

Here's the link they e-mailed to me to download the app on my Epic: http://amzn.to/getamazonappstore
You need an amazon.com account to use it, but if you've ever bought anything there you have one.
Anyone know if these apps will be available again for download if you have to reset your phone or get a new one?
I know that there is no refund policy with Amazons store, but wonder about spending money there and loosing them.

They should be attached to your Amazon.com account that you login with to access the App Store.

There is a "My Apps" section just like the Market has, so I would assume it will work the same.

Yep, I just had corrupt data yesterday and my backup was corrupt as well, needless to say I had to fully wipe and start over. When I logged into the amazon app store it knew what I had downloaded and offered to redownload them, no payment required.

For whatever reason when I try to buy Beautiful Widgets off of the market, it has all payment options greyed out.
I can't use a credit card, I can't bill to my account, nothing.. It has done this for about a month now and I figured I'd finally ask.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Last I heard, HTC threatened the maker with legal action due to the similarity between the Sense weather/clock widget and Beautiful Widgets'.
That might have something to do with it. I dunno.

My AMEX is greyed out for some reason. I think there are issues with some credit cards not being valid with international orders.
I checked the AndApp store with no luck either, and I don't see any licensing available outside of the market for the app like with some other programs
Had the same problem trying to get Ultimate Juice too.

You are correct. You cannot place international orders with an AMEX. Beautiful Widgets is the reason I added a MC to my Google Checkout account.
If you aren't using AMEX, then you might want to contact them directly. My brother had a difficult time with the order going through for his Captivate and after several emails back and forth with them, was finally able to download it. It was apparently some problem with Google Checkout - but they weren't able to figure out exactly what. I think it was just a matter of trying multiple times over the course of a few days before it worked.

Same here.
Amex wouldn't allow a foreign transaction in Google Checkout. For me Mastercard appended a foreign fee of 0.05.

Get asphalt 6 for her phone
Thats the racing game i was on about, couldn't remember the name of it. I was going to get it on her phone but she hasn't set up her payment details properly and it was light so i just left it to the next day, i didn't know that the apps for 10p changed daily then so ive missed out.
I got GLWG for 10p which is good fun, im just stocking up on good 10p games even if they wont work well on our x10 ready to play on whenever i get a new phone or tablet.
trouble downloading from market
hope someone can help me on this.
been trying to download some of the featured discounted apps but it keeps saying "error occured. please try again." i also tried on other regular paid apps (outside the discounted section) and i still get the same error. free apps i can download no problem.
i thought it has something to do with where i am (Philippines) but when i try to do it via pc browser, the paid apps get pushed to my device with no problems.
any of you have any thoughts on this?
thanks!

I never understood why WA is an paid app if in the browser it is free...
I'm not sure how relevant this info is, but both file size and publisher differ between Pay and SamsungApps versions.
Sound cool! Unlike the Play Store, it has no user review under the Samsung App Store, can I trust that this app is the same as the one in Play Store and that it has no malware, virust, torjan, etc.?
Does Samsung impose strict quality control before putting the apps in the Samsung App Store?
Apparently, Samsung app store has hosted an old version 1.04 if I am right.

Google play offers to update it for a price. You dont have to.
I think it's free, due to Samsung using it in conjunction with the S-NOTE
Just tried to download it. Got a message saying that for security reason, download from sites besides the Play Store is blocked. Then, the phone asks me to agree that I am the one responsible if my data are leaked. For some reason, the phone also wants to upgrade my Samsung account. Is it ok to accept?

On the Play Store, the author is "Wolfram Alpha, LLC". How come on the Samsung App Store, the author is "Dinh Nho Hao"?
When I clicked "Get", Samsung update was activated. Then, there is a window "Complete action using" with two options: 1. Package Installer 2. Scan with Lookout before Install. I chose option 2 as I don't know what option 1 is. Next, there is a new window "Install blocked" "For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not obtained from Android Market". I chose Settings.
Shall I check "Unknown sources" to allow installation of non-Market applications?
Hitting the button leads to an Attention window saying "Your phone and personal data are more vulnerable to attck by applications from unknown sources. You agree that you are solely responsible for any damage to your phone or loss of data that may result from using these applications." As a new Android user, this is a bit scary.
That depends on whether you trust SamsungApps. Just as with the Play store.
The thing about the differing authors worries me more. Especially as SamsungApps does not reveal permissions before install.

You get $10 for signing up, but to re-charge it you need a US based payment card (which I don't, of course). So there was no way to add more money on it.
I think Paul (modaco) did find *one* way around it, but I didn't try it...

The wallet application is in N7, just got frozen when the sign in of the device is in uk. Same for magazine app and sound search widget. If your device is rooted and have titanium backup, they can all be defrosted. No good for wallet app, though, as there's no terminal in the UK to use it; opening the app will say it's not supported in this region.

Saving it until I need it. I usually use it to support devs for apps I use that I haven't already bought/donated to.
If you want you can buy a premium key for Titanium Backup as it'll be usefull for you in case you want to move from one device to another!
I've already bought all the premiums for the apps I use. I guess I'll sell it on ebay and make my tax back from the 6p.

I know titanium has been around forever but Is it safe to restore from one rom to the other... Will it cause issues with the system? If they are different. I always read do not restore data from titanium. I have always started fresh when romming. Even though its such a pain... I think I'll purchase some games that I probably wouldn't have purchased otherwise. And see what other apps people come up with

It's safe because you're not restoring a ROM, you're restoring individual apps.
It's always been recommended not to restore the data for those individual apps, though

Are you 100% sure? When you go to check out from the "Google Store" (not app section) one of the drop down "Pay With" options is Google Play Balance. Unless the 50 bucks doesn't go into that same bucket of money, I am not sure how they would be able to tell what is my deposited money and their credit money.
