hi
I'm on darky 9.3/speedmod-K13a-250hz/modem:jpe
on my voice calls the sound of the conversation sound
alway bad like you turn up the volume to much
even if i turn the volume down to half it still sound noisy
depend on the speech tone of the people I'm speaking with
i also try to change to Damian karnel and it didn't help.
Doesn't sound like any kernel problem I've heard of. If the recording quality is bad, you can use Voodoo control app to adjust profile. If the quality of the line is bad, then i dunno
Try an other modem.
**DamianGTO ultimate kernel v1.3 * 600Hz * 346MB RAM * OC/UV * 1280MHZ**
Just flashing to k13d latest speedmod kernel
problem solved
Thanks

I am using Overcome 1.2.3 ROM on my SGT for couple of days. For the last few days I'm observing that in call volume is too low most of the times. If I reboot my device then I get louder in call volume. But, after a few hours the sound becomes too low. Is there any solution?
Did you try turning the volume down 2 notches during a call?
no bug but feature (me thinks )
if u lower the volume 2-3 steps it is very loud again!
That works!
Thanks a lot for the tips ... that works perfectly

Now you have remember that each time you flash a rom. It's a common flaw of tab roms.
I had increased the speaker volume in the service menu before but now nothing i do has any effect.
I changed most of the Volumes in Handset, Speaker, Headset, Bluetooth, from "SRC Speech RX Volume" to "DST Speech TX Volume" to very low levels or zero but nothing changes.
Even changing the Gains to 0x0000 does nothing.
Can anyone imagine a reason why none of the changes do anything anymore? The ROM im using is Roto's JMI.
If your using ext for your file system you could flash Overcome kernel with voodoo sound and then use the voodoo app in the market to increase the gains. If you are rfs file system then i would check to see if Overcome is rfs compatible then your set, if not there might be an rfs compatible kernel that has voodoo built in or try audio booster in the market.

Thanks for your reply. I will consider switching to a voodoo enabled kernel when i get some time.
Regarding the apps, i already tried AudioBoost2 and Volume-Boost but both unsuccessfully. Audioboost2 does not boost the bluetooth-volume (its not supposed to, just headphone, speaker and mic) and Volume-Boost just mutes my bluetooth headset entirely when i enable it.

That won't work. Voodoo sound only increases the headphone volume.
Meanwhile i completely wiped my Tab and installed the latest overcome kernel and rom.
Changing the volume levels in the service menu still does not have any effect though.
Many people have tried that too, for both the volume and the data. I wonder if you can just edit the.xml files these menus are linked to?
Hi,
Is there any solution to increase earphone volume and call quality like in HTC or samsung by using service codes or any modifications?.
I think the volume and call quality in X8 is very low and poor.
If you are using cyanogenmod rom with working DSPmanager, turn on compression, it will give you a real boost

Does turning on compression improves in-call volume?

Absolutely useless advise. DSP does not work with earspeaker.
Having installed cyanogenmod7, also faced with the same problem - my xperia x8 has very low sound via earspeaker. I can hardly hear what caller is speaking to me.
then this must be your cell phones problem, not with the rom. I dont have any problem listening even on a busy road.
Try to clean your speaker of dust......
FXP roms over 028 and official CM71 rom have bug there - very low call in volume.
Hi, I am running froyobread v020 on my x8 and now i face a issue with the speaker as its volume is very low. please help!
If its got the dsp manager you could try turning the equalizer up full should sound louder when playing music

Perhaps you have put your speaker. EQ often only clogs the speaker (the sound becomes fuzzy and unpleasant). Chances are there need special drivers for the speaker, which likely does not exist. Try to go to the Service Center.
install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188486http:// ginger dx, mine is quite good.
and do some settings in DSP
If you have any patches/fixes/errors for our latest .35 CM7 please share.
My opinnion:
-Microphone is too sensitive.
-Battery life could be better.
-Distortion from speaker.
-SD-Card Corruption.
Others I've seen in forums:
-GPS not working.
-Sensor Lag.
-Missing calls? (not sure about this rom)
Tell me if you have Fixes & more errors, lets try to gather all in one place.
for now the best Patch is to revert to a previous CM7 version or any other rom sucha as MIUI.
Considering non of these use the .32 or .35 kernels
Try Volume+ for in-call volume linked in the latest .35 miui description and this maybe could fix it more permanently: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411317
35 kernel is so buggy. My bugs are simiar too, hiss sound, low in-call volume, and sometimes not mounting external SDcard. It does not corrupt but nor mount.
Used Volume+ in-call setting & android assistant to raise the incall volume. It works! You can also tweak better speaker sounds with it.
