Any help me Ive been running mattc froyo sense desire HD for months now from the sd. Everything works with a few bugs and issues and exceptions. For starters battery life is totally unacceptable. Ill maybe get 10 hours on standby in powersave mode back light off auto sync off the works its just the android system running from the sd card draining my battery. Ill get 6 with moderate use.(pretty bad) secondly keyboard lags. HTC sense force close phone process force close. Third. Super quite voice when talking to someone else. I can turn speaker on off and it louder but annoying to do it everytime. Also led notifications don't work. AT ALL! Camera flash sucks pictures turn out over exposed. There is no torch supported or video Cam light support. I'd love to use a flashlight app on a build using the Cam light. Nother thing is ill take a picture with good quality and set as contact icon and when they call the pic quality is horrific. Also when I charge over night I only goes to 94 not 100 no matter hohow long I charge. Things that do work 3g/edge. Phone obviously. Mms SMS. Basically everything give or take a bug. Basically what I'm asking is it anyone knows from experience if there is any rom out there running from the SD, nand, or ram, that has these issues solved. Ivreally appreciate the great work and breakthroughs from all the chefs and developers. Please someone help. I wanna show my buddy m hd2 is just as good if not better than his incredible. I'd settle for any android rom with decent battey life full led notification support. Full Cam support and video support with led flash working flawlessly. Please help. Thanks everyone look forward to responses.
I'm using iamgpc band rom. As long as Bluetooth is off it will last days.

Hey all, I've been trying to use Android with my T-Mobile HD2, and I have only run into two issues. First off the sound (imported ringtones and what not) run at a faster pace then normal and are slightly pitched up. Any idea how to fix this? I'm pretty sure that it isn't the system in general, because my clock runs at the correct speed.
Secondly, I can't take pictures with my camera in 2.1 because I obviously don't have an "optical trackball".
Any thoughts?
i have the same problem i think it might be the radio so im changing it to see ill get back to you and let you know if it works.
so i found out whats the problem its the radio i bet ur using 2.12.50 that one doesnt work for sound im using 2.10.50.26 and that one is working great sound is perfect again
Cool, thanks. Any idea how to work the camera?

Hey guys There is a whole forum dedicated to Android on the HD 2 Please post your questions there.
Thread Closed
Hey guys, new to the forum and stuff so take it easy on me. Just wondering, I'm running android from my SD card in a hd2, will that make my battery run down faster?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
In short-yes it will.
In long-power management under Android is not as advanced as WinMo, so your battery will last 7-8 hours on a charge with moderate use...even less with data or Wi-Fi or the like.
So it is the android os and not the fact that I'm running an open file from the SD?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Running it from the SD card makes no difference as far as power is concerned, as it's just flash memory, and really no different from the internal NAND of the HD2. Android devices historically have pretty bad battery life, because the underlying Linux kernel isn't really all that optomized for mobile devices..though that is all set to change with a future update in the Froyo code.
In my battery usage it says that the display is using most of the battery, I've adjusted settings and still no better. Is there a way to fix that or will that be part of the froyo update as well?

kind of wondering the same thing..
No reply from the mod so I guess I will do more research and wait till the froyo update. I may look at some other builds as well to see if there is anything better than what I'm running.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Sorry, been busy. The Froyo update I am speeking of, is some kinda of future code change directly from Google...and God knows when it will be sent downstream. Power management saying that your display is using the most power is usually correct, because well, the display is huge and uses quite a but of power. There really is nothing that you can do to make it use any less power. Android on the HD2 consumes alot of power, as do regular Android devices...and there really isn't much you can do about it.
Thanks for the reply. I wasn't mad at ya or anything. Is there a link or something to keep with the froyo updates? All I know is the site where I got this build. I am using the darkstone froyohd2v3 and really happy with it, except the battery usage of course. I'm sure there are other builds, are there any u think are better than froyo?

I'm using mdeejay revolution 1.5 and I can go about 1 - 1.5 days on a charge.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Wow! A day and a half on the battery. That's really good. Is that with little to no usage or are u able to use it a bit and still have decent life? Where can I go to check that out?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I've tried three or four Android ROMs and they all have incredibly loud in-call volume. Hoping one of you guys can recommend a ROM that works properly and fulfills its primary function as a phone. It's frustrating to see so much effort being put into fixing things like blurry MMS and LED notifications when the basic function as a usable phone that doesn't blast your eardrum to smithereens is overlooked.
/rant
Thanks!
Odd. Usually people complain about the low in-call volume on phone's. Here is the complete opposite. I would choose loud over too low any time
What roms are you using? Might give it a go. ;-)

x3, I thought I was going deaf when I first switched to using these roms.
Seems like you're a sense junkie, but if you can live without sense, I'm using cmn 2.0 by ocm and it seems okay. Also, most the gingerbread roms seemed fine, although those come with their own batch of problems.

Hey guys,
I had installed Android about 2 weeks ago on SD card.
Once boot into Android my battery drains too fast..
If I leave it full charged idle, the battery goes to 0% in about
5-6 hours...
Any one know why this happens and what I can do about it?

Download current widget from Android market and report the battery drain.
Have you tried turning off everything? Turn on Airplane mode, maybe you have something on which is causing the drain.
Have you rebooted the build about 3-5 times.

I have tried airplane mode, gives me bout 8 hours.. not much... and I think I have booted about 3 times.

Current widget reading please... its free and it's on the Android Market.
change your radio or sd roms
your rom may be eat too much ram , or use less widget because more widget more battery drain and use taskkiller
I installed current widget it shows about 200 to 300ma---omg...
And only bout max 250mb RAM is free after killing all tasks.
I Think its the ram but don't know what to do about it.

250mb RAM is great, but your Current Widget reading should be around 5-8mA (on SD) or 3-5 on NAND. RAM is definitely not your problem, I struggle to get as much as you do after first boot. Most I've ever got is 280 once, after boot.
Backup your apps with Titanium Backup and try a fresh install.
I agree with nigeldg but first format sd card with this tool http://www.mediafire.com/?3241tjhwd8o2vc3.
I will do a clean install and return back...

It doesn't matter what it reads when scrolling through screens, put phone on stanby, wait for around a minute or two and then give the reading immediately once the screen is turned on. i.e. what is you standby battery drain?

I've found that FX Camera takes glitch-free pictures on ics roms. The resolution isn't amazingly high but seems to be the best option so far for me... you can also create a shortcut to the normal mode on ya home screen.
Hope this helps some people!

ICS MIUI based on Lord's work
I've been trying some shots, and sometimes there are glitches, and sometimes there are not... anyway it does improve what i had before (glitches ALWAYS)
When using flash, pictures are always o.k., when flash is not used, sometimes I get that blurred portion on top...

Not the best camera app around but good temp solution til we get the stock one working.
Thank you, work here for the moment...
FX camera is the app for photos
but what app is the best for recording video?
the camera glitches is the only thing keeping me from using ICS virtuos quattro.
Unfortunately you can't record video at all on any of the ics roms (yet...)

I'm using IceColdSandwich 4.0.3 - 1.2.0 and pictures are fine(I'm not too demanding with a camera's phone) but again I can't record any video
