Seems like Samsung noticed Noob left and said **** we ain't got anyone else to develop froyo for us.

Always thought they did **** like that...Because you know they have their eyes on xda and sdx to see what the devs are doing.

Thats obviously from across the pond, with the translation creating the grammatical errors, and it mentions Vodafone which is Uk's and Spain's largest carrier, and it refers to our cell phones as terminals lol. At the end, it mentions that it may not be true for its United States users, so I really doubt it pertains to us.

I think where just waiting on sprint. I believe samsung did there part and no where for sprint to finish there part. There has been 3 froyo leaks already. Its just a matter of time

dont let the door hit ya .. i for one will never downgrade to an evo.. have u ever used an evo after using your epic? screen size is great but thats where the pros over the epic stops. plus im running the leaked froyo fine on my phone..

I can't wait either. But I figure once it does, it will give us renewal feeling of happiness with our phone.

The beta runs great. It's a real pleasure using Froyo on the Epic. I find myself using my PC less and the Epic more.

I use my phone daily, and get a lot of use out of it.. I obviously am not as obsessed as many of the whinners, but I guess it gives them something to do.

Now this might do some real good! Sprint would be totally taken back and might think about shoving 2.2 out the door just to head off any *****ing about not having gingerbread.

The point is that this is one of Sprint's "top of the line" phones. Why don't I have the bells and whistles that the comperable Evo has? I paid a premium to have this device and all the features its capable of. I'd like to be able to enjoy those highlights.
On a side note if Samsung/Sprint did a little bit better job of keeping everyone in the loop on where they were with updates it wouldn't be such a big deal. I don't need specifics but a ballpark timeline would be nice. It's all about managing people's expectations.

Hopefully fix gps / keyboard issues. My gps locked like a glove on DK28 and closer than I have ever seen on DI18. I enjoyed the new style of text messaging too. Its all about user expierience. Flash would be nice too.
I ran the leaked DK28 build for awhile and enjoyed it quite a bit but it obviously wasn't finished. I'd like to give the finished product a run.

Im in no hurry for froyo til mobile ap starts working on it, wireless tether sucks ass in comoarison, also my gps works great on d118 the only thing froyo will bring me is flash and apps2sd which apps2sd is not even a big deal for me im nit running out of space or anything and my phone does everything I want my phone todo. I dont care if froyo officially doesnt come out til january 2012.

The main thing I want it on my wife's Epic is for C2DM or cloud to device messaging for third party apps. I'd like it so that apps can use less battery power that do notifications among other things.
Also the JIT's kinda nice too..

I haven't done any complaining about it on the forum but one would think one of the best/most expensive android phones on the market would come with the latest version of Android. Anyway personally I went back to running 2.1 with Phoenix/Syndicate Rom after trying a whole slew of 2.2 ROMs. I'll just wait around for the official Froyo and try not to think about it....

(* Edit - Just JI6, not real ota) omg I think my Vibrant is getting an ota

There's a blue and red arrow icon in notifications, when I pull it down it says "Device Management - connecting to DM Server". Could this be Froyo?? Yeah, right, but what is it then?

But no, you are probably getting JI6. I suggest that you Odin to one of the new leaked ROMS and use that. JI6 was a mess IMO, huge battery hog.

lol, but I like my new toy...LOTS. Got a 32gb sd card on the way for a total of 45gb of usable storage. That is tops, no? Still have my G2 for backup.

How long is this JI6 update supposed to take? That "connecting to DM server" icon has been there for an hour. Should it have connected by now?

Over the air is a crappy way to get anything is becoming my understanding. If it was me I'd Odin JI6 onto it if you want to stay stock. Otherwise I'd put on a custom ROM of your choosing.
If you need help with Odin etc. look at the Vibrant Bible - it will answer MANY questions for you. Good luck and welcome to the club

Ya, but playing games on a phone is not really all that fun, and there aren't many good android games anyway. Whenever I want to play games I will always go to my iPad instead.

I tried to load that link but my phone BUZZED once, then twice and crashed. Now my native Youtube app won't play any content and TW launcher hesitates to perform it's function.

this are incompetent at best and are total amateurs - look at what these developers have done here for free! - Samsung sucks the only good thing about this phone is the screen and the slide out keyboard, but even that sucks some times as it doesent register every key press even though I here the click - so I guess its only the screen thats good

Had the issues on my Brother..and Dad's Epic's too.
And my friends G2 and my exs G1

the app has been broken through many versions over many months.
Some versions wouldn't notify me of anything, others would notify me constantly even with notifications off. I had to log out of FB to keep it from pissing me off.
Good to know its sort of stable now.

Oh look, they fixed the keyboard and auto correct feature when posting a status update. I swear, that was the best break ever; I barely posted a status from my phone all week!
How they managed to break the keyboard is beyond me...but that's facebook...Billions of dollars, and they still have ****ty apps, no iPad app, a website that's outdated (design wise), ect.
