I like using the finger print scanner but not every time I turn on the screen. Is there a way to make it so it is only required every hour instead?

You can download extended controls or another control widget (I use switchpro) which gives you extended options compared to the stock controls widget. It has an option to turn the lockscreen off for however long you want and then you can turn it back on with the press of a button on your homescreen. It cant be timed, but you control it there are also other widgets that do just what I described. But what I mentioned has many more features than just that. They are both paid apps.

Might be worth contacting Willem Stoker (?) - he has a locale / Tasker plugin and standalone app in the market that delays the pin lock in 2.2 and above. He's been very helpful in the past, maybe he can whip something up.
I'll be looking for something similar if Motorola ever pull their finger out and release the Atrix in the UK

I feel your pain. I had S2U2 working almost perfectly on the Ozone, but reminders (Outlook Calendar sync) did not work correctly. The reminder chime would start then end abruptly and I'd never see the onscreen reminder. Only way for me to dismiss my reminder was to disable S2U2 and wait for the next reminder to pop up. Calendar and E-mail are my two must haves on the phone so I had no choice but to uninstall it. Bummer really.
Ironically, was was looking around tonight for an alternative and ran across this post. If I find anything that works, I'll let you know. But if you don't really care about reminders, I highly recommend S2U2.
It is for touch screen only, but use mymobiler (our mouse emulator) to configure. Then you are good to go. Be sure to disable advanced power options.

I use Maniac's Auto Keylock. Has functionality for profiles, notifications, screen saver, etc. Great app. Here's the link (slow site):

Did you read my whole post? I said it worked on the Ozone except for the reminders. You are obviously not going to be able to use the touch screen. That's why you have to use MyMobiler to configure.
Just use D-Pad right to unlock.

Automatic Key lock is certainly not as aesthetic as S2U2, but it works! Perhaps this is not supported, but I can not find the option to password lock the device.

Sure, in Keylock setup, use "device lock".
I hate having to press the center button then the star.
Is there anyway for me to change those keys to the center button then the space bar?
That would be so much better!

I don't really like waking from the top button each time. Is there a way to wake from sleep using the trackball? Thanks
I asked the same thing over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=621548
Their solution isn't quite as effective, since it doesnt actually lock your device, just lets you turn the screen off without locking so that the trackball functions as an input. I don't like that

I checked, that's not free : (
ScreenModeWidget also works.
So the Lockout-Screen just doesn't come and you can wake up via Trackball.
EDIT:
Oh just saw this was also mentioned in the other Thread, but however it works just fine
But I want the phone to go to sleep so that the batt gets saved.....
Imho the battery is saved this way, too.
Couldn't see any differences with or without activated Lockout-Screen.
The only difference is that you haven't to slide that screen away.
I don't mind the sliding part. Its the pushing of the top button that annoys me...
Hi guys

Lockbot. Free on the market, too.
Flyscreen - it's free on the market and includes lock screen (custom) widget support. Theme support coming.
As soon as they release a music player widget (using the local player) it'll be a killer.
Trackball, volume or power button will bring up the swipe to unlock screen - and it's got some other useful options.
I have no relation to the developer but think the app is great (although there are still some minor issues).
And it's free...
I'm looking for a simple app that allows the the Atrix to be woken up via the volume buttons.
I know that there are several other apps, but they all center around removing the lock screen, or replacing it. I *want* the lock screen, I just also want to be able to use the volume keys to wake the phone up.
Is there ANYTHING out there like this? Just this SIMPLE function? I'd even use a bloated app if it allowed me to use the stock lock screen.
Just try widget locker. You can customize it so it can be simple like you want it.
Never live in the past but always learn from it.

I gave it a try, and it *almost* works like I want it. I use the fingerprint to unlock, and if you have both the pattern and the fingerprint set, it appears as though after the device wakes up you still need to swipe the screen. This is a hassle. Maybe I'm missing something in the configuration? Also, it appears that WidgetLocker is laggy as hell.

I specifically said that I *WANT* my lock screen.
I only need the ability to wake up the device by pressing a volume key.

I'm not sure why you are upset?
I asked for an application that allowed me to keep my factory lock screen, and NoLock does not do that. If you have "NoLock" enabled, then the volume keys wake up the phone... they also UNLOCK the phone. If you disable "NoLock", you have the lock screen back, but the volume keys do not wake the phone.
Maybe if you had actually read the post, you would have realized why I responded the way I did.
I know there's an app for it. But I can't remember.
One thing is if you have tasker set context volume buttons, task screen on.

This app right in the FAQ section says, "Can I use the standard Android Lock Screen", and the answer from the developer is no... Still not what I'm looking for.
Any luck finding that?
WidgetUnlocker now allegedly supports the finger print scanner of the ATRIX. I have found it unreliable at BEST.
I'm waiting for another release to see if the capability gets more stable.
The problem with wu is that it's canceling the slide to answer and that renders it useless.

Nolock will prevent full lockscreen but allow to bring out of sleep mode via either volume buttons or power button. The timed sleep mode in settings will put phone to sleep.

I like to leave my phone unlocked 90% of the time.
Does anyone know if there's an exposed module out there that will let me quickly toggle between the swipe (or no lock screen) and the fingerprint lock screen?
Doing it through setting is a PITA when you've got to enter your alternate password every time.
I would like to just be able to lock the phone on a one time basis.
That's a nice idea. May be someone will make it in future..
But for now I think, there's no app or mod available yet.
I think the no lock home xposed module may be suitable for you but it cannot be set to time ulnock only wifi connection, bluetooth device or cell signal. I hope I could help.

Hello,
It's not what you need but a good alternative is to use FingerSecurity from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...fingersecurity-fingerprint-lock-apps-t2818896
which has a widget on/off.
You can set any app to protect (settings as well) by fingerprint security and just active protection by widget.
So your phone won't be locked, but any app of your choice will
Best regards

You really don't need to secure all apps.
Settings, gallery, sms, mail, file manager, all that can explore your phone, really easy to do.
Nice work

It's a viable solution, just not the most elegant.
I would rather lock the whole phone, but this does the job for now.
Wonder how hard it would be to make something like that?

In fact, I'm really stupid.
The solution you need is here, in front of us
Just protect your home launcher by fingerprints, and use widget on/off on home screen.
When active, and when you'll screen on, your launcher will be protected, so your phone will be "locked"
(Only thing you need to do is to come back on home screen before screen off, if not, last open app will appear if not protected.)
Enjoy
Franky
It works fine when I use one of lg's launchers. Using nova launcher it does not work. I can force it to work, or I can use greenify to hibernate and lock screen but both methods require device admin privileges. No biggie, but then you're forced to use patter unlock, and I would venture whatever other method you use as back to the fingerprint scanner. I am using pattern. It requires I use it because I gave those two other methods to lock phone development admin privileges thus making fingerprint scanner a lot less useful. It wakes phone but I have to use pattern like I would if I rebooted. Anybody using nova having same problems or found a workaround? Bugging the hell out of me as I finally have a nice finger scanner, coming from the note4 and it was almost useless with a case on, and I love unlocking my phone as I take it out of my pocket. If others using nova are having same problem let's brainstorm and figure this out. It is nice double tapping to lock phone also.
Double tap the notification bar works anywhere.

I already covered this in another thread - it's a known issue since Android 6. In 6 there was a workaround but with 7, there has been changes and the workaround doesn't work.
I spoke with Nova and there is a root workaround for it but we don't have root yet.

It's a PITA and will take some getting used to. I had the LG G3 and the OPPO Find 7 which both had dttw. But with nova you have to hit the tiny notification bar, which as someone said will take some practice. Just make sure you have it turned on in nova's settings.
