You cant and here is why:
If app uses any of the following features, it cannot be installed on the external storage. It's required by Android system.
App Widgets,
Services,
Input Method Engines,
Live Wallpapers,
Live Folders,
Alarm Services,
Account Managers,
Sync Adapters,
Device Administrators

With Titanium Backup, there's a batch operation to move all installed apps to external storage. But, if you want to install them directly to sd card, go to settings/cyanogenmod settings/applications. Then, check "Allow application moving", and set "Install location" to external.

when you connect to pc via usb cable choose disc drive on phone and wait for pop up
you can then put apk files onto sd card then disconnect and navigate to apk with file explorer, open and install,
you will also have to check unknown sources in applications settings
If you are using normal froyo app2sd. Settings > applications > manage applications > go to an app and pick move to sd.
But are apps in SD slower than apps in phone?
If you have a slow sd card and the app has to support froyo app to sd

Since all the apps cant be installed to sd card, therefore i recommend you download "app2sd enabler" from the market. after downloading it, just go to settings>applications>manage applications. and you can move you desired apps to sd card.
I have done it with the following tutorial

good luck !
If we download the apps from the android market, how do we install them on the SD card?

I just told you, read my post above... if you have an ext partition and app2ext enabled, they move auto to your sd, you need to darktremmor for this.

If you do the following MOD, Applications which support them self to install in SD card will automatically goes to SD card.
http://nmobilephones.com/applicatio...tall-applications-to-the-sd-card-by-default-2
Applications which do not have support must be installed to phone first and then have to moved to SD card through Application Manager.
Is there any way to move all apps to SD, possibly without deleting my current setup?
I have found that some applications have "Move to SD" disabled, so my phone is filled up already.
Titanium Backup is free on the market - that will do it.
When you run it, open the menu, select batch, and look for "Move user apps to the SD card".
Titanium Backup does loads of other very useful stuff (as well as backing up, obviously ). It's worth getting anyway.
Just be aware that not all apps will run once you move them to the SD. If you find anything that doesn't work, just move it back to the phone and it should be okay.
In cyanogenmod you can set to allow all of your apps to move to sd. If you don't have CM you should try the method mentioned above

May be a silly question but do you clean temp files of apps?
You can also try Move2SD Enabler from this post.
It allows you to move certain phone only apps to SD.
Eg. Fast 5 will become 264kb instead of 22.7mb on the ROM. The rest is installed to SDcard.
Remember to thank the guy if you do.

It changes a string for the installation location to be on the sd card.
So that apps that normally install to rom can be installed to sd.
However, it's not retroactive. After you changed the installation location to external memory, you can manually move apps to sd by going to settings and applications.
It's on the market but that version only works on Froyo. This one works of on gingerbread.

Now my phone is using just 200mb/380mb
I own a hd2 with the lates nand hyperdroid rom, and a a2sd partition on my 16 gig sd card.
Now, my phone's memory is full at the moment. I cant even update my current apps due to low memory. So I deleted 5 apps worth of 4 mb. However i can't still update for example the shazam app, which is a 1,5 mb upgrade.
Now, my questions are.
1. If I delete 4 mb worth of apps, why can't I still update the shazam app? 4-1,5 would mean I have 2,5 mb left, right?
2. Second, how can updating apps cost so much memory. Sometimes I need to deleted a few apps in order to update some apps to the newest version. I assumed a new app version wouldn't cost a lot of extra memory.
3. in titanium backup I see there is 28,9 of system rom, 26,3 of internal memory and 800 mb of a2sd left. How come it says memory is full?4
4. Is there a solution to installing more apps?
I'm sorry if my questions are a bit vage, but it's just frustrating that I cannot install the apps I want.

try going into settings and than applications than manage it should show you a list under downloaded. go into some of your apps you downloaded not widgets or important things that you use like button savior cause they wont wont when on sd card. youll see an option to move to sd card move it wait for it to say move to phone than its complete do that to a couple of apps then try to update the app, but take shazaam out of sd card if its there then try to upgrade it if it doesnt work. or back up all your apps than reflash.

Hi,
I noticed when I moved apps to my sd card using SuperBox,that it moved the app,but left the data on the phone.
If you have apps with large amounts of data(saves, etc.),these will be causing your problem.
Try using root Explorer or something similar and look into the cache folder. Apk files that you download from market are saved there sometimes. You can delete them there. You also can move your dalvik to sdext. Easiest way is a2sdgui.

1. root
2. instal "foldermount" from google play (and do what you want)
all bigest app like game etc you may mount that way (system don-t see it but this file is there .....its genius)
.....and thats it
cheers
I've tried foldermount but failed. I am direct installing apps to sdcard with builtin feature. Foldermount fails to move files and it showing a error in statusbar. So how can I move files like facebook data files from /data/data/ folder to sdcard, thus I can save internal memory. Pls help.

have you root your device or configure the folder on folder mount correctly? working perfectly on my A3000, but if you still fail, you can try update the frimware, it'll split your internal drive, search for a3000 frimware that doesnt contain fuse names
hope it'll help

Small games like temple of run, subway surfers, I think you can move them from app manager,
just go to "setting" then select "apps', then select "downloaded", now tap the app which you want to move to sd card, there you will found an option "move to sd card" just select this option and you are done
But for those apps you can't move using app manager you can move them with folder mount or using 3rd party app manager like app 2 sd, just Google it
