[OFFICIAL] [CUSTOM] Android 4.0.1 by Samsung for SGS2

After a long wait Samsung has finally started testing Android 4.0.
Last week our “insider” presented us with XXKP1.
The Android version of this ROM is Android 4.0.1.
The build date is 7 december 2011.
As you may know of us we often get these leaks prior to release.
After we did some checks on it we can confirm that we’re dealing with a “CUSTOM” Samsung build.
We strongly advise people who only flash stock ROMs to not flash this.
As you all may know we only offer stock ROMs so you will not find this firmware on our usual firmware page.
We at Sammobile offcourse have tested this ROM in all curiousity.
Samsung uses Android 4.0 with their own TW-Launcher and Android 4.0 tweaks.
Below you will find a video review of this ROM.

What works in I9100XXKP1?
All the Basics work like calling , sms , internet and more.
Some applications havent been worked out correct so they will force cose on stress.
Because we are dealing with a “CUSTOM” ROM here it can occur that the phone will react very slow from time to time.
There is also the chance of some “RANDOM REBOOTS”
We at Sammobile advise people to not use thhis ROM for daily usage.
If you want to download this firmware then you can do so via the provided link below.
Again if you only flash STOCK ROMs then dont flash this.
Because you flash this rom with “unsecure” kernel the phone thinks its “CUSTOM” and will start counting on your custom counter.
You will loose your warranty bercause of this.

Original Android Development vs. Android Development

A question for understanding forums selection:
For me is "Original Android Development" that the ROM based on Stock ROM from Device, for example : HTC M8 with Sense6 is stock and original and HTC without Sense6 like CM is Android Development
Is this right or give me please another explanation!?
Thx in advance
No, you have it reversed. Also kernels, recoveries and stuff tends to go into original. This should be mentioned in a sticky in one or both of these subforums.
The wording is bad, the distinction arbitrary, and all over it's a terrible idea.
This has been brought up a few times.
Original Android development can have both sense roms and non sense roms eg CM, recoveries and kernels. The difference is the OP of the ROM has had to have made a large contribution to make the rom, recovery or kernel different to anything else of its type. This means that there has to be a large number of features that are unique to that rom and not offered in other roms.
Also any builds that go into OAD forums should be official builds by official maintainers as well. All non official builds should be in AD forum.
This would apply to kernels recoveries etc as well.
Edit here is the link to the main page that says what can go in to OAD and what cant: Introducing Original Development Forums for More Devices
Hi , thanks for your reply !
Now i got it !

please list sone of the best 2017's custom roms because my s4 already have cyanogen 4.3
Look in the development forums for your model number. The ones still actively updated or used are on the top.

i wanted a list of aosp/aokp opensource not the sammyroms... i want a list of the best supported 2017s roms because is found nothing in the forums lile a list of such roms
So let me get this straight. You expect someone to comb through all the development forums and list for you all the ROMs that are based off AOSP? If that is the case your request is unreasonable, especially when the various development forums in this section have search engines which you can use in order to answer your own question.
I doubt anyone has that kind of time to spare. If you do however, perhaps you could present that list.

[REQUEST] Help Update security patches for discontinued roms.

There are many custom roms for OnePlus 2 but most of them are discontinued for various reasons.
I did search and try but I didn't get enough information to do it myself as I'm just an end user not a developer.
So I would like to request any Kind Dev here to post a guide in the relevant forum to update just the android (not vendor) security patches of these discontinued roms to latest ones, so that users can use their favourite roms without depending on or bothering rom developers.
There are videos on YouTube to compile certain roms from their source codes on Linux machines in cloud platforms like Google cloud or Amazon servers. Some video guide like that for updating security patches would be much appreciated.:fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance to any Dev who is reading this.
Cheers :good:
