[Q] RafDroid HD 4.0.2: Cyclic rebooting after splashscreen - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi. I've been using Rafdroid HD 4.0.2 for the past week. And today I've decided to update kernel to Rafpigna 1.9 OC.
So, I went in the MAGDLR menu, selected AD Recovery, then I chose kernel_rafpigna_1r9_OC.zip from SD Card and install it. And get cyclic rebooting after splashcreen "Rafdroid HD" as a result. Tried to downgrade to rafpigna 1.8 OC - rebooting too.
What should I do? Help please.

Do you have the right clockwork partition size flashed to your HD2? What about your SD card? Is it partitioned with an ext3/4 partition? If you do make sure you have the?, clear cache and wipe dalvik cache and then reflash the rom and it should work. Also make sure you give the Rafdroid Rom time to boot. With my experiences they've always taken way longer than any other roms I've tried.

so it was workiung until you upgraded the kernel?
did you make sure you got the right kernel as there are 2 available, one for froyo, android 2.2 which is what that uses and the GB version for gingerbread

Are any of the current Roms "stable"?

I have been using Dwang's 1.17.1 rom since it came out. However, over the weekend, I tested out many eclair roms such as openEclair, KingKlick's (sp?), Manup's eclair rom, and Pay's rom. However, I could not run any of them smoothly. I got stuck at the mytouch screen for all but Manup's rom. For his rom, the nexus bootup screen was running overnight.
I even tried Cyanogen 4.13.1 (4.14.1 was not up at the time). That was one rom that I was able to run but it would constantly freeze randomly. Also Weather Widget Donate would not keep up with the real time in his rom. Therefore, I reverted back to Dwang's rom.
But before testing these roms out, I formatted my class 6 micro SD card. I did obtain Amon's latest recovery (1.5.2G) and followed the directions in order to have apps2sd. I partitioned and converted ext2 to ext3. I was quite ecstatic to see that the apps transferred over to Cyanogen's rom.
But what am I doing wrong with these eclair roms? I am new with the sd card in regards to using apps2sd. I am wiping the factory data, dalvik cache, and ext if told in the post. Is there something I need else I need to do before running these eclair roms?
Also, I only follow directions but can someone tell me what wiping dalvik cache and ext does to the memory card?

Stuck at boot Runnymede TBD

Hi I'm having a boot problem with TBD runnymede 3.5.
It won't boot it just keeps at the TBD boot screen I have tried both 1gb ext partition and 2 gb with 0 swap. I have flashed it crazy untill now. Idk maybe i'm forgetting something... Why can't i find a manual
I am using magdlr and cwm to get it working but got no where so far.
First i flash, then i partition then i put the rom on the fat32 partition using a sd card reader. Then I install the rom.
Are you sure you have flashed the correct partition size and downloaded the correct rom for your device (cLK or MAG) ?
Yes i am trying another rom as we speak and it seems this one is working
Yup i installed another runnymede sense 3.5 rom and this one worked perfectly so im keeping this one haha so that's a big thanks to Mikhei777 this was the rom that worked for me:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1298188

Can't get ROMS to boot flashed in CWM. Help!

OK, I've been reading guides for the past two days and I'm stuck. I have a US T-Mobile HD2 that I installed HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR 1.13, and CWM recovery 250mb partition. So far I have only gotten one ROM to flash and run. UrDroid Runnymede w/Sense 3.5. But it's laggy and it only has 100Meg of space available for more programs.
So I tried to flash some miui and CM7 ROMS and I can't get them to boot. Then I tried a Froyo based ROM and it went into a boot loop. I've tried 6 ROMS so far and I can't get the other 5 to boot. I clear the cashe and dalvic before every install. I also reformatted my SD card (FAT32) and still same result. It's a class 10 8Gig card.
What am I doing wrong, what do I need to change? Where should I be reading? And if possible, how can I get more space and speed on the UrDroid ROM? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

put an EXT partition on your sd card. It wont show up as extra space, but it will be there.
Did u task 29 your nand?
Maybe, you have bad blocks.

Are you shure that all 6 ROMs need 250 mb partition? Try to use predefined recovery for each ROM.
Yea, I got a couple of ROMS to finally boot when I changed the partition size to the recommended size. But I couldn't get any MIUI ROM to boot. I was trying to verify if Task29 would clear out my Clockwork Mod or not. Wasn't sure. But I have the HD2 Tool kit. I just didn't know what partition size to use for the MIUI ROMs because they're not listed. I tried 150, 170, 180, nothing. I'm currently running a Vision Froyo ROM. Odd, Sense ROMs run but the much smaller MIUI ROMs won't.
I did put an EXT partition on the SD card. Thanx.
Task 29 clear everything but is recommended.
Try this MIUI:

Follow instruction from post 2 (use CWM specified at point4)

[Q] Problem installing ICS roms

Hello XDA.
I have this problem when i try to install ICS roms on my HD2.
The one i've been trying most is NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9 V1.0.
I tried some other ICS roms as well though, just to see if they'd share the same issue (which they do).
Up untill now i've always been able to install non-ICS roms without any problems, but when i install one of these, i get stuck on a black screen with green "HTC HD2" text in the middle.
Since i've tried several android roms, i'm not a total newb at this, but I can't seem to be able to fix this.
Some specs:
Radio: 2.15.50.14
Using CWR 5.0.2.6 (tried older versions too, updated this one yesterday)
magldr 1.13
HSPL 2.08
If i can supply you with any more info, please ask ahead =)
And thanks in advance for the help!

Could be you looked over it

i was not able to boot ics roms with my 150 mb partition. i used nand toolkit to wipe everything and rebuilded it from scratch with a new partition layout then it worked for me

In the Internal storage tab my of storage settings, my total space is 255MB.
Like everyone said, you need to partition the space as Tytung suggests for his ROM at least 200MB. If you are using the 150 MB partition from Tytung's Gingerbread ROM, then this explains why you are stuck on the boot logo. I went back to Tytung's Gingerbread ROM since I need to have a working camera/video and for some reason his ICS ROM gave me problems with access to the Gallery to see pictures that I have or took.
if i recall what i did correctly, i made my boot partition about 900MB, since i have a 32GB SD card
Dude.. the ext partition is one thing. The cwm recovery layout the other.
Ext partition in your case 900mb is for storing apps on a partition in ext3 or 4 format of your sd using an app2sd or datawsd script.
The cwm recovery layout is for taking some space from your nand(for ics im using 220mb, tytung says at least 200) to be able to flash the rom into your nand and start it without bootloops.
Try it. Install cwm and change the cfg file to 220mb system and 5mb cache.

alright alright i'm making progress here.
I did as you said and increased the space. I got slightly further now. instead of the green HTC HD2 screen, i get some colourful block animation; which i assume is the boot screen of the rom. It keeps looping tho so i'm not quite there yet..
I tried 400MB system tho, lets see if it works with 220

oh dear...
your hd2 has 512 MB NAND, then you HAVE to use something like:
system ya 200M
in your flash.cfg for CWM.
This is NOT the space of your SD-card!
Greetings.
Wolfgang
I realise that now xD Thanks a lot for the help, to all of you!
