This is a small program made in Flash to emulate a fullscreen virtual keyboard.
This keyboard is fullscreen and always seen in horizontal way (landscape).
It requires Flash 7 installed in your Pocket PC. If you don't have it yet, get it for free here:

You can customize the:
- Text color
- Keypad Skins
- Background image
- Pre-made personal sentences
- English version
You have three screens with keys:
- Normal
- Capital letters
- Special characters
In all of them you can delete the last character, erase all the text or COPY, this last key has two effects:
- Places all the copied text in memory
- Closes the application
Afterwards, you can choose where to paste the text, either on a SMS, a note, email, or any other application where you can use the PASTE command (or CTRL+V).

To configure the keys sound just alter the IDsom line in mydata.txt
You may also change that on screen.
Almost all keys are configurable now, with the exception of the characters % & ) = + that cannot be dynamic because they interfere with the code.
Do note that some keys. to help the witting process, jumped to the first screen so that the user could continue witting, keys such as é ã ó, etc.
There is now the option to choose your screen rotation as default, just change the variable on mydata.txt
Or, during use, you can always press left/right (or up/down, depending on the model) to rotate the screen at will.
You can change the skin anytime by pressing up/down on your keypad (or left//right, depending on the model).
To customize your favorite skin, text color, personal sentences or use the English version, read the mydata-english.txt carefully.
Then place it in \Storage Card\Temp\FlashKeys (these folders are created the first time you run the software).
If, for some reason its not there, then search your Pocket pc with a explorer software to seek out where your temp folder is.
You can make a skin yourself, just use the example in the EXTRAS folder. It needs to be a 230x320 JPG file placed in the \Storage Card\Temp\FlashKeys folder with the name back.jpg
In case your screen is rotated you need a second file named back2.jpg
If, by any reason you need to exit the fullscreen, you can close the application with the COPY key, pressing the new minimiza buttton above the volume or press ENTER on you keypad (the button in the middle of the directionals keys).
Place the EXE file where ever you want, make a shortcut or call it with a defined key on your Pocket PC, its your choice.
This software is compatible with WM2003 and WM6. I didn't tested it on WM5, but it should work fine.
The WM2002 version was not created, but can be made easily by request.
Use and distribute this as you want, it was made for all of us.

Weel, you can select the text with your stylus and i think you can cut and paste also, but that wouldnt work very good, at least with my flash-actionscript limitations, sorry...

its made for 320x240 but it -should- resize itself for any screen, but thats something only the flash player itself can manage. Let me know how he reacts to your screen...

The keys would be too small in 240x320 and it would loose its purpose...
but, yes, it is possible, just not in a direct way... Maybe in the next version, but again, they keys would be really small, when compared to the landscape version...
My Qtek S100 is on portrait mode, but I still use that on landscape, it doesnt affect anything in the system, just gives me more room to have the full keyboard keys in that qwerty kind of way.

Yeah, I was wondering that too. I was thinking of picking up a Trinity and need something like this, but I would like to be able to delete things.

well, right now you can, but only the last character written... you can also remove things manually by sellecting the text with your stylus and choosing CUT (not sure about this), but im afraid i dont know how to make actioscript in flash that lets you delete part of the texto in the middle, sorry...

Nice app i like it - not really needed on my wizard but usefull on my artemis.

Got ya twolf - my reading is a little slow

Two questions here for improvement:
1. & is missing from &Key1 at data.txt, initialized by the program - leading key 1 undefined, but this can be corrected by mydata.txt.
2. &FAVSkin cannot be initialized by mydata.txt - always start with default skin, but it can be changed by D-Pad.

1 - yes, that is normal, the first variable cannnot have the & in order to work in flash.
2 - Hmmmm.... I believe it works, he just assumes the jpg file as a sefault, if it doesnt exists, he then selectes the number you picked in that variable as the skin you want. But yes, it can be changed via D-pad always during the use of the application.
Are you sure it doesnt work? You did configured it in mydata.txt, right?

Installation notes:
1. Download the required file and unzip it.
2. Make a folder in your Program Files (Internal Storage is recommended!):
/Program files/FingerKeyb/ and extract the files from the downloaded zip into it.
You should end up with:
"/Program files/FingerKeyb/Skins"
"Program files/FingerKeyb/Fingerkeyb_register.exe"
"Program files/FingerKeyb/fingerkeyb.dll"
3. Run Register.exe and press "Register"
4. Soft reset. Your new keyboard will now be available under "Other input methods".
If you have a previous version of Fingerkeyboard installed, you will first need to UNREGISTER the old keyboard!
To UNREGISTER the keyboard (v1.1 / v1.2) follow this procedure:
1. Run register.exe and click on unregister keyboard.
2. Soft reset
3. Delete the whole Fingerkeyb folder.

no prob^^
The VGA port has been done before, however i didn't find a good landscape version for it. I could not switch languages and some buttons didn't show up properly.. My main aim was to re skin that properly and make fix the greek version for vga

Will there be a NL version??

ehm.. the dutch letters are the same in english so i guess this will work just fine too
to clear it up, fingerkeyboard allows you to switch between 2 language layouts..the above skin has english and greek included

Hebrew Keboard ! !! !
for all that love this keyboard. i worked on hebrew keyboard
so just replace the SKIN.TXT file with the older and make a reset
now all english\hebrew.

great skin and keyboard love it.
although i seem to have a problem, in SMS in the To: field usually when i type he first letter i get a field displaying matching contacts that i can move between so i dont have to type the entire name but wit this when i type a letter nothing happens, any advice?

that is normal..i dont know if it will be done in the future
to be honest, until now i havent seen any other keyboards except the original windows ones that have that functionatilty :S

updated the first post with a full preview of the new skin (see the attached file for a higher resolution screenshot - edit:xda seems to lower the image quality..)..the files are not posted yet as its from a new version of fingerkeyboard which is still in beta..
They keyboard layout was made to be very user friendly (or at least to my needs )

for some reason i cannot get this working on my touch pro. i followed the installation instructions, it shows up on the list of aavailable keyboards, however after selecting it nothing changes at all. has anyone else had this issue??

i know that you got it running but keep in mind that the original download from the HD thread is with WVGA resolution. you HAVE to use a VGA skin to make it work.

honestly i have no issues with typing..especially on the touch pro as it has a hardware keyboard too..i think you should have a shot at it first though before buying it..By the way you should really consider the touch pro 2

Looking good, I'll add your layouts to the CPR's my CAB so people don't have to manually edit the CPR's in a future release of my theme. Downloading now to check it out.

cherish might be able to help with regular Titanium as his plugin is for it & he's adding buttons to it. Really the only difference is the script will need different X/Y values & the user needs to have a TitaniumListView (Plugin always recenters itself onscreen) type theme. If the theme using BronzeListView, there's be only one way to support it as the X/Y value would be different depending on order of plugins. It'd have to be either the first or last plugin enabled.

Noticed an issue, the script is deleting the Add.png image. This causes you to get the "RED X" that CHome draws for missing images.
You need to remove the script that deletes the image. There's no need for it as the image gets changes in the registry upon adding an app anyway.

Cool cool, doing great, just copied it in.
Trying to see if I can get the buttons to work inside the <Layer ID="Page" section and link the images to cprs. After that going to see if there's a way to do buttons w/o the color script. The script is nice because it works, but hoping there's an easier way to make buttons launch app. That would also increase performance with less scripts running.

Looking good, 1 small note though, I won't change the application name inside the cab. This way updated cab's will ask to uninstall the previous version on install instead of user having to uninstall it manually first.

You want to keep the same # as buttons between QVGA & VGA as the image needs to be increased in size to look the same size on screen. Double the Height & Width of the values of the cpr for VGA. It should be noted also that right now I don't have support for VGA in NeoTitanium so they'd be adding the layout to their Theme CPR's unless someone made their own VGA version of the my CPR's

The main reason I say this is because the old version will remain on the "Remove programs List and you won't be able to uninstall it to get it off the list. It's not a big thing, but makes for a cleaner "Install Programs" list.

I thint is not very hard....when I start mapping cpr file I just count
like full screen wight is 240, and there is 45 at left so...I just do like this 240-45=195
then 195/3=65 squeeze so 65-1=64
then I try my first button then take a screen shot then mapping.....
all just like that

the color code will also be different as the dot gets stretched & therefore the color changes slightly at the selected pixel.

That's what I worried about
but all fine now for QVGA Portrait I'll Taking a break for now
so Landscape have to wate ...because I don't use Landscape....I'll try to map the cpr file then can you help me for the screen shot? then I can make the color code works too

Ok everyone, here's the newest NFL skinning project I've been working on for my pro2. I liked the way the Eagles one I made for myself came out so much I went ahead and made one for every NFL team so that you guys could enjoy as well. I'd like to present you with my NFL DINIK Keyboard skins. I used DINIK's-Anastasia-Keyboard v2.0 as a base when making them. He also has a newer v3.0 keyboard skin i could use to make a newer set. I'm having a hell of a time getting a screen shot for you. I've tried resco screen capture and shake and save and even tho i have the keyboard up, it only captures the page behind the keyboard. I also tried with my camera, but i couldn't get a clear pic. any ideas?
The landscape lines up pretty well but it seems like the bottom of the helmet (AZ Cardinals at my nephew's insistence) is cut off at the space bar, but otherwise looks great.
for the portrait it looks like there is a double space bar and a double shift key and the bottom arrow keys are cut off by the bottom menu bar.
If you have any better ideas for a screen shot, let me know and i'll try it.

Try an app called capsure(just tried it and keyboard came up in pic). Get it HERE.
I did have to resize diniks keyboard skin to fit my tp2. Give me a min and I'll edit and attach a few files for you to try n see if it fixes the problem
EDIT: Here are the resized portrait images. Leave the Cardinals(tp2)cab installed and then copy and paste these into your windows folder overwriting the tp2 files then soft-reset. let me know how it works out.

The files you posted brought me back to normal and thanks for the CapSure link, worked like a charm!

Your welcome!! When you say they brought you back to normal you don't mean they are as in the attached pics right? are those from the cab only? Cause those don't look good at all. If they do are aligned correctly with the files I attached, I'll remake them for all teams so that hd2 users can enjoy as well.

Yea they should work just fine.(i'm running stock sprint 6.5) They're uninstallable so go ahead and try it out. Let me know then if everything is aligned correctly.

Hey, how about doing a christmas keyboard that you can add to the CHT Christmas Theme string? I don't know if those guys are aware that your skins can be adjusted to work with HD2. An xmas dialpad would be cool too........aren't I just full of good ideas for things for you to do. If you want to send me a "skinning keyboards/dialers" for dummies I can work on doing it myself too.

Oh wow..I'm sorry ezzie!! For the amount of time I spend on these forums, I can't believe I totally missed this post. That would of been a great idea. I'm alil disappointed I didn't see it in time. I'll def keep the idea in the back of my mind for next christmas

Here's a preview of a wp7 skin I'm working on for swype keyboard. I have all portrait images finished and will share it once I have landscape completed. What do you guys think of it?

sweet! are the swype ones hard to do? There are very few of them out there and for some reason none of them are working with my NRGZ ROM.
btw my nephew is really jealous of my AZ Cardinal's phone pad, cursor and keyboard which of course I switched to just for that very reason!
Once again I am in awe of your graphic abilities!

Thanks for the kind words ezzie. Yea i've also noticed there aren't too too many swype skins availabe. Na they actually aren't that bad, they're not any harder than making skins for htc keyboard. If anything it's a little easier because there are no images involved within the .dll file like there is for htc kb. When you say they're not working, do you men the skins or swype itself. If its the skins I'll help see if we can't figure it out

It's just the skins that aren't working, swype is fine. (except for when i accidentally delete the files trying to get the skins to work!) I'm not sure when they stopped working either because they used to work just fine with his ROMs and for awhile I wasn't using swype a whole lot. I'll attach the files in a couple of days when I get home from vacation. I'd do it now but my laptop was commandeered the minute I got to my brother's and I'll be lucky to get it back before I leave!

Here are my wp7 skins for swype keyboard I'd like to share with everyone. I've never made a skin for swype and you can see how many different things I've skined. With all the new wp7 phones coming out, I thought a wp7 themed keyboard skin would be a great starting place. I posted a few preview shots a few days ago and just finished them yesterday. I played with them all day and have found no problems(tp2). Please post if you have any problems! Let me know what you think of them. Enjoy..
They work in both portrait and landscape and are available with either a white or black background.
Instructions..
-Make sure you have swype previously installed.
-Install cab to the same directory you installed swype. example if swype is installed to storage card, install the skin to storage card.
-or copy contents of zip to swype directory (program files/swype)
-Soft-reset and your done

The visual font glitches are from andy's rom, not the keyboard itself - that and ddms takes such lousy screenshots.

Glossy black, otherwise stock aside from a few usability enhancements - see changelog for details.
Install
Install, enable in settings->keyboard, from keyboard change input method to Esp Keys.
Important: If using any version prior to 11/11/11 you must uninstall before installing later versions.
Known bugs
English only supported at this date.
Sensitivity suppression doesn't work well when plugged in.
Black themes wash out easily in sunlight - not a bug per-say, but i might yet add a contrast mode.

Sorry but unlikely as i'd have to purchase skp.
Thanks for the feedback - I don't like that the outlines almost disappear in bright sunlight but the alternative would look chunky in dim light.

Would this work if I used a root explorer instead?
Edit: root explorer doesn't work. I'm not surprised. Pushed the apk, looks good but it doesn't match my overall theme. Tried reversing to backed-up apk and odx but the phone can't see Android Keyboard after that. Is it because I copied the original using root explorer instead of pulling it via adb?

I'm not sure really, I've not tried to return to the original, merely saw no reason why it wouldn't revert. If your apk/odex are in the right place and have the correct permissions the only other thing i can think is to boot into recovery, clear the dalvik app cache and reboot.
Thinking out loud - When you backed up via root explorer were the odex/apk there? your sig says cynogen rom, is that deodexed already? if they weren't perhaps the keyboard is named something else, devoids was aime.apk if i remember correctly - and i did read somewhere having two gb-based keyboards causes conflicts, if so - try just removing LatinIME.apk then reopening settings etc.

No. They were both Latin apk and odex. I'll try clearing later, thanks.
On hindsight, what should the permissions be?
Edit: Nah, just pushing it back and correcting permissions then rebooting worked. Didn't clear. Thanks!

But could you please share some more detailed information about how I can install it?
I don't know how to access /system folder and remove the files. Is it the "pull" command on adb, and if yes how can I backup the file?
I really don't know how to use adb so I would appreciate some more details.

Also, am i the only one plagued by an over-sensitive touchscreen? - eg: keys unintentionally repeating. I figure it's an optimus one issue, but i might be the only one. That being said, my sister's samsung i5503 suffers from a similar problem but heat/static related as opposed to continually.

It ought to still work in other languages - with caveats: no settings translations, and i deleted some language specific layouts in order to make it easier for me to adapt.
