I just bout an HD2 with android software already installed. The problem is that the person I bought it from still has their gmail account and contacts still on the phone. I did a factory reset and that obviously did nothing. I cannot delete his gmail account and I cannot sign into the marketplace because it asks for his gmail login only. I have been at this for hours, even researching to reinstall the software. I got the MAGLDR loaded fine, but my phone will not connect to windows mobile. I had to hold down the power button and the lower volume button to get into usb mode for it to reinstall MAGLDR. It worked fine, but when I open up DAF.exe as administrator I get the same error everytime. Error Description: Config load failed.
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (712)
Error Description: CONFIG: can't open config file
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (291)
I even tried it on my computer that has XP and get the same message. I downloaded Andexplorer.apk on the phone to try and find the data.img to delete manually but couldn't find the file. The phone works great, I just need to DELETE his GMAIL ACCOUNT completely off the phone. Any help is much appreciated!!
If your phone has the Setup icon included, you need to activate that app so that you can go into the initial set up of your phone. Then you should be able to enter YOUR user id and password for the Google Account. As long as you are able to get into the initial setup screens of the phone, then you should be able to change the user id and password for the Google Account so that it will recognize you and not the previous owner.
Did you go into the address book under accounts and just remove the account? As far as I know you can delete it from there and then just add your own.
Installed on nand or sd card? Why not just flash your own rom? Problem solved.

I can get into setup but when I get to the google account screen, his email already shows up and has a green check mark next to it. I tried clicking on it to open it but it will not do anything. If I go into gmail and view accounts and select his account and hit delete, it says I must do a factory reset which doesnt work either
Same problem I had.
What I did was flash a ROM update for Core Droid and did the initial set up.
Problem Solved.

IME this does NOT work because it says "some apps require this account to be active" or something like that. 99% sure this does not work

I think he's getting two things mixed up. He talked about Winmo first, then loaded Magldr, then looked for a data.img. Sounds like he's confusing NAND/SD.
when you try to run DAF.exe, make sure it's not a Clockwork ROM, and also make sure that on the phone you are in USB Flasher mode.

Yeah, then you're just going to have to go with the obvious and flash in a new ROM.
its on nand. Not sure how to flash my own rom??
I agree you have to flash a new ROM I dont know if your on SD or NAND but NAND is probably the way to go
here is a link to the guide that tells you how to flash it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
if you follow it you shouldn't have many problems, once you find the build thats best for you and flash it you will go through the setup process as if it were new out the box
BTW if you need help, or get stuck Google is your friend, there are a lot of nice people on this forum that will helpout too

Hello everyone,
I want to first say that I am new to these boards and am glad I have found them.
My problem is everytime I try to use my camera it tells me I dont have enough memory and to stop all running progs.
I stop them all and the problem still presist. It seems to work after I reboot the phone but returns to that after I start using some prog.
Is there a way to fix this or should I just reboot everytime?
Any help is appriciated.
Thanks.

try flashing one of the ROMS they have here.. the reason why ur getting that is because ur running low on memory (ram). and the stock Rom the phone comes with just plain doesnt do the job. or try looking for the hibernate.cab maybe that can free up memory so u wont have to reboot all the time
You can also try the PagePool to reduce the size from the Stock 12 MB to your choice of 4 or 6.
I installed the pagepool but I cant get it to run the backup.bat file.
Error "There is no application associated with "backup". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application".
Am I missing something?

You run it from your PC while the phone is synced with your PC. Not from the phone.
I actually tried that first but it didn't do anything but I'll give it another try.
Maybe I did something wrong.

Read my walkthrough on the Herald mobile 6 forum on how to flash.
And read this for a list of ROMs.
So i got the activation code and followed the instuctions from the tutorial
all worked well but it wont let me download anything :S
when i try to download / install it say cannot get information.. please try later
is there a fix or any suggestions whats wrong here ?
Same problem here
Did you do the reg fix before activationg your phones? Check in settings, about and your phone should be listed as HD7.
If it's listed as LEO70, then the market place won't work. You will need to reflash your HD2 again, read the installation guide.

I had the same issue...Please sync your phone with Zune on pc and then log in to Zune using live id and download some free apps from Zune's market place ... Marketplace on Phone will also start working
Think i found the problem
my phone is listed as an hd7
its connected to zune and i logged in
but i think it might be my memeory card on zune its now showing
o% memeory left.
i got an 7gb if i copy the files over to that from my current memory card via a card reader
will i still have my files ?

You left that curcial bit of info out.
No you can't copy the files from one SD to another. WP7 was not built to support swapable SD cards.

All you have to do is sync with zune and sign in and let it set up your phone. then you will be good to go
reenable the cache in internet explorer
this is a bug of wp7 if you disable the cache of the browser you cant use the marketplace
See in config/info if your device is identifying as an HD7.
If not, you will have to re-run connection setup with a database supported carrier SIM, and then uninstall connection setup before you re-insert your SIM.
Suerte.

How do I do this?
My device ID is shown HD7, I can't even sign in Xbox, "can't find info" from market, can't upload pictures to SkyDrive. But I can listen to music in Zune Market!
open internet explorer pres the three point and select in the menu "setting"
select " use cookie etc(i don t say the exact wod because i use wp7 in italian but this option is the first )" now your market work(if this option was unchecked of course in other case i don t say how repair your issue)
Fixed
I ran out of memory on my card so i reinstalled WP7 with my new memory card
and reinstalled all the patches for the live services put the code microsoft gave me first of all worked again now its all working..

Yes, and it worked before.
and u dont changed anything?!?
Nothing at all, I only tried because I saw this thread.

its definitely a server prob dont worry...be happy
Good to hear. Just activated my HD2 and I was afraid I did something wrong.
Well seeing as it says it can't get the information after it says it was verifying, it does look a bit suspicious :/
for me its working again
i hope for u too

I have the same problem after activation,too...
The wp7 ist correctly running, only the marketplace doesn't run...
I did an hard reset and the same happens...
When i want to install the programs with zune, zune say, that it is installed, but i can't find the program on my phone...
I have vodafone in germany...
Just downloaded and istalled the IMDb app. Downloaded and installed fine, but won't run. Loads up for about 4-5 seconds and then phone goes back to WP7 menu screen. Any ideas???
If you have JUST activated and it is saying this
have you applied the registry key to identify the device as a HD 7 ?(unless you have a ROM with this as standard)
There is coming the following message:
Access to the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg is restricted.
What could I do?
For you guys having problems with Marketplace, just be sure you made de HD7 tweak (in Settings-About your device must appear as HTC HD7, not Leo70). After you enter the 25 digit code in Marketplace, get the Live ID.xap file (available on the forum) and edit the CustClear.provxml file in it with your code. Then deploy the LiveID.xap to device.
I'm not having any Problems with Marketplace apps.

You are missing files on the zip file.
Go to this link and download the CMYLXGOs.ClockworkMod.Recovery.Partition.Setup.02.04.2011.RAR
then extract rapitool.exe and enterbootloader.exe to your MAGLDR_CWM_Recovery_v3.2.0.0_for_NexusHD2_135M folder.
Don't worry you are not replacing any files, these are the files that missing from the build.

Hello shankar10,
I have done as you suggested (the files were already there, but I replaced them just incase), still have the same error message.
The only difference in the 2 zip files is the last file:
"recovery_3.2.0.0_leo.img" in the file you suggested and
"recovery-raw.img" in the file I downloaded from tytung.

In that case, go to activesync, settings and disable allow usb connection. then right click on the DAF.exe and properties. Make sure the compatibility is not set to like windows xp SP2, in other words make sure to uncheck the compatibility.
Run as administrator, this should work.
just a word of caution, DO NOT REPLACE ANY OTHER FILES other than I specified above. Which are rapitool.exe and enterbootloader.exe

Okay, I have followed the above. But I couldn't see on "DAF.exe" when right clicked, 'propertiies' or anything to change 'compatibility'. I use Windows 7 on my pc.
I have retried the whole process, but still the same error message! The phone currently has WM 6.5 on it. Surely, if I follow the instructions on tytung's thread and the files within the zip files are correct, it should work. so what am I doing wrong
Just a thought: I have "CotullaHSPL 0x50" rather than "CotullaHSPL 0x30" on phone, could that be the problem?
All other requirements as per tytung's thread are correct.
Okay: Splash screen after pressing vol dwn during power on =
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x50

If you are flashing this ROM I think you may have the wrong version. This version is the one to copy on an SD card because it does not say "NAND" in the description.

hmmm interesting thought, however looking at the installation guide @ point 3
Flash Android ROM
Enter ClockworkMod Recovery when you're on MAGLDR 1.13 (hold "Power" button during boot) and select "AD Recovery" or "Boot AD SD" (if ever copied CWM's initrd.gz and zImage to SD).
Flash NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V2.8_NAND_(Android-2.3.4)_update.zip (85.27 MB)
the file name to download has "nand" in it!
If any of you can message tytung for me to confirm if it's nand or not, would be appreciated. System won't let me send a direct message as I don't qualify for that at this time
Or get tytung to email me directly at [email protected]
here is the document contains how to do clean installation. this might help.

You really need to do some extensive search online, see if others had a same problem and how they resolved it.

I did manage to find another thread with similar problems and followed some of there actions, to no avail.
Its just really strange. I had Tytung's [26.JAN][DFT/CWM] NexusHD2-Froyo V1.9G [Android2.2.2][Kernel: tytung_r2_oldcam] installed on this phone previously and all worked well. One more thing, why don't you do a task29 and this will allow you to clear any partition and other junk.
then install the wm6 then do the Android. Currently I have the following ROM on my phone

Okay, I have reflashed an original HTC HD2 WWE 3.14 Rom.
Then:
Clean Install MAGLDR:
1. Task 29
2. Flash Radio(2.15 Recommended)
3. MAGLDR 1.13
..... (why me?) after lashing MAGLDER 1.13, reboot holding down power button, all I get is white screen with HTC on it.
So what would I have done wrong?

I've run into the same problem.
Permissions are set, the old apk and odex removed, and new one placed in. Am I missing something?
I am going to hold off on installing the clean rom for now but if this persists, I will install the rom.
Ironically, this is the only problem I have ever run into in development of android since the original droid because this seems like a very simple copy/delete modification.
Any advice or help from anyone is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same problem, but it was because I had copied the file incomplete. Check the size of the file is the correct one, I found out that the file size is 96kb and the one I had copied in the phone was 4kb. Once I copied the correct file, I left the permissions as default (rw-rw-rw--) not sure if it matters, but once the phone booted I was able to use the Hot Mobile Spot.

If you are getting the force close of the com.lge.mobilehotspot.ui and you have followed all the other steps and cant figure out what the issue is, try going to the application manager in settings, then find the Provision app and click the Uninstall Updates (it's the top right button). As soon as I did that it worked fine.
