So, i have been trying to send text messages and make calls. but NOTHING. the phone says "message not sent" and shows a red triangle with exclamation mark in it. and, when making calls, phone says "call ended". all the bars are clear and sometimes white. and as i am typing this, there is a small "x" mark right above those clear bars. anyone having the same issue? btw, i am on tmobile, 2.3.3. i have rebooted the phone multiple times. any suggestions?
Use the kb3 radio if ur not already. I'm not sure if it'll fix it but its worth a shot

Are you using a custom rom? I had this happened to me before on one of the custom roms. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't make calls so I just wiped everything and installed the rom again to fix the problem.
thx
Thank youthis is awesome

I.ve got a problem with the VM notification not cancelling. It appears when I soft reset weither I have a message or not.
I have tried hard resetting and even flashing different roms.
Has anyone else had this problem?
i had this problem too
was a problem with orange
i had to call them...they turned it off
then all was ok...worked for me....hope this helps
Not sure if it will work for you but when i had this problem i got someone to leave a voice message (just a blank 2sec silence will do) then when i deleted the message i waited a few seconds before handing up and i found the icon disapeared. Might be worth a try
Thanks Folks!
Orange now reset VM and all is OK
T-Mobile
I've got a HTC Tythn II and had the same problem.
After checking this thread, I called up T-Mobile and they told me that it is something that they would have to reset from their end.
Which is what they did and all's sorted.

Hi!
My first post here....
I rooted my MT3G and installed CyanogenMod latest version. It was working fine for a week or so (except for "Force Close" issues, but I took care of that by removing task bar), and now since last Friday I'm not receiving most of my incoming phonecalls. My friends tell me they're trying to call me, but get disconnected right away. Phone doesn't ring, I get no missed calls, and it won't even go to voicemail. Occasionally though some calls will go through.... Outgoing calls and everything else seems to work fine. Also, when in the car and connected to bluetooth system and someone would call my phone, the bluetooth recognizes incoming phonecall, says "call from...", and doesn't even proceed with the number, just says "call ended".
I tried to reinstall CyanogenMod; called my phones several times from different phones, worked fine, but later in the day started getting messages from people saying that they can't reach me.... calls are dropping again.
Please advise if you have any ideas to solve this.
Or if someone can tell me how to reverse the upgrade I did, I would like to give it a try and see of it fixes my phone.
Thanks!
My phone works just fine with CM, maybe it's a hardware problem, if you don't get it fixed by next week I suggest unrooting it and seeing if the problem still persists. If it does, maybe take it back to your carrier and get a replacement.
Thanks, Anartic!
Yes was considering unrooting it. Could you tell me please how to do it? Or give me a link to that info?
Thanks!
Hey guys i have a Tmobile original MyTouch 3g phone rooted w/ CyanogenMod 5.0.8. I keep getting a notification message towards the bottom of the screen that says "It seems your device is not compatible. We owe you an apology. Would you be kind enough to contact us...."
Today in the morning I woke up and all my Messages were wiped out. My desktop wallpaper was changed. Did Tmo push out an OTA update that screwed up some info on my phone? BTW I am also not getting incoming calls but I can make outbound calls and internet works fine.
Sounds like you got a virus!
All jokes aside, that's weird, try re-flashing CM 5.0.8 from recovery without doing a wipe, and see if it fixes your problem (obviously the number one priority is being able to make calls). If not, try doing a full wipe and re-flashing the ROM.
Hello,
I have a strange problem. Even though my phone should have a very bad connection in my area/room (proven with another phone: no bar shown) the nexus shows me all bars. But in reality calls do not come through, people get the message that i am not available and later i get lost call messages.
My provider says everything fine from there side. And my S1 at least shows zero bars. The problem appears with different roms and kernels. As well this is the second N4 i tested after a RMA of the first one. So two phones, same issue.
Not sure how to solve it. Anyone else having this issue?

To start, I'm on Android 7.0 using the September security patch and am rooted.
Never had an issue with this phone before. Ever since yesterday morning I have not been able to receive anyone's text messages. I'm not sure about MMS but I haven't gotten any of those either. The weird thing is that I can SEND texts just fine....and I can also send text messages to myself and they come through.
After digging and researching I accessed that hidden settings menu by typing *#*#4636#*#* into my dialer and looking at the SMSC number which should be for Tmobile, my provider, +12063130004. However, it's blank and I'm unable to change it. Hitting "update" gives me an "update error" in the field and if I hit refresh I get "+12063130004",145 with the quotes and the 145. If I hit update from there and reboot it's still blank. If I put in +12063130004 and reboot it's still blank.
I have data, I can make and receive calls and surf the web. So far I've tried switching sms apps to no avail. I'm currently using google messenger. I've tried removing the sim and placing it back in. I went in to TWRP wiped cache, dalvich cache and data and it did nothing. Finally I reverted to a nandroid I made about a month ago when sms was working fine and it's still not working.
I'm out of ideas fellas. At my wit's end here!
Oh, I should also let you know that I think this all started when my girlfriend sent me a text message that i received yesterday morning. It was the last text I was able to get......she's on a cruise so she sent it somewhere near mexico....I think it made my phone have a massive brain fart and I'm not sure how to fix this bug. Please help!!
No one? I've found nothing on the web..
This may sound obvious, but have you tried using a factory image to return to stock?
Sounds like you've done everything but that.
I suppose you could also try deleting your APN and manually entering a correct one for your carrier. That's helped me in the past on other devices when I've had weird data/service issues.
Funny you asked. I did a full wipe and returned to stock on the latest November build. Still a no go. People still get my texts and I can still use data/make and receive calls fine. I'll try the APN suggestion now.
As far as APN's go, I tried to reset them to default. I even tried deleting all of them except for the one I was using which in the past for other devices helped with certain issues. I then created a custom APN setting that I found on the 6p forum that helped other users with SMS/MMS issues....no help for me.
I can still send SMS,mms, make and receive phone calls. No idea what to do!!!
I have a similar but different issue. I can receive messages just fine. But sometimes when i send messages id say about 40% of the time my message gets stuck at the "sending" and it takes sometimes up to 10min for it to send. I can speed the process up if i go to the secret menu and toggle the radio off and on.
Im on ATT BTW. I thought it had something to do with ATT shutting down the 2G network and the phone getting confused as to which network to send messages on but im no expert its just a theroy.
PS. I had this problem pop out of nowhere. Had it start randomly on PN6 (last build) so i upgraded to PN7 same thing on 2 different versions of the ROM. And now im on SuperAx 7.1 and still have the issue.
Ive always had problems with Nexus's and messages. When i had the Nexus 5 i actually had to warranty it out because MMS all of a sudden would not work at all.
I received one text today from someone. That's it. Not getting all the missed sms messages and not getting any additional sms messages.
