The reason I am writing this thread is because of this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883222
The OP raised his concern regarding Cyanogenmod not being the biggest concerns for the Dev's. But I honestly think that during the times of CM6 the Dev's could have played a bigger role of bringing it to our Vibrant. I know Eugene tried to do something with it, but i think the release of Gingerbread 2.3 made his work not worthwhile because it was based on 2.2.I am aware that CM7 is in"heavy development cycle" due to Gingerbread 2.3, and most likely will be coming to our Vibrant. With that being said, I feel it is necessary because since we were not able to get CM6 to our phones then why not go for MIUI.
Honestly it is one of the greatest ROMS out there and sometimes i feel that our Vibrant should be getting some more love.Keep in mind that I am in no way bashing TW/Eugene or any other Dev's. Their work is nothing short of quality since I have been a very heavy user of both the Nero and Macnut Series. But I am sure that most people wouldn't mind having MIUI on their phones since its the best of both worlds. (Iphone/Android) Also, I wouldn't know the full process porting such a ROM because it is not an easy task and I am in no way a developer. Maybe it is being worked on with a 2.3 Base? Idk? I am just seeking for answers as I am sure most of other people are as well. I really hope that MIUI really comes to our phone and it becomes one of those projects where many Dev's were in the process to port the SenseUI (back in the day). Just trying to make our community better.
For Those who are unaware of MIUI ROM, here's a demo:

Flame me, Hate me, w.e.. I just think its a debatable subject.
Ty.
What is this? A new trend?
hopefullu for the good.
Here is why, in my opinion.
If 25% of the masses want cm or miui, 25% want 2.2.1, and the rest want 2.3 - 2.3 it will be.
I like miui, I even had a barely working version of it for a little while. But, the guys who use my releases know what they want, those who use TW want their roms bionic, etc for master, eugene et al.
Nowdays, with leaks once a week, I think it will be tough to get a dev to drop everything else and start a port like miui.
But, if I could do it, I would, I think.

Wow, that was the exact answer I was looking for. Like I mentioned before I am no Dev and you being here longer than me and more experienced I will take yourword for it. Your also right about these leaks coming very fast. Hopefully after a full port of 2.3 is done maybe just maybe we can get MIUI.
Thx Alot.
Yeah I Was Gonna Start Working On MIUI But I Need A Cyanogen Source, There Isn't One So I Kinda Hit A Wall
Maybe If Jellette Can Send Me What He Started I Can Just Port MIUI

There are some serious problems with it but I think it is still on my computer, I'll let you know
Later.
Its Cool If Theres Some Problems, All I Need Is A Starting Point And I'd Be Able To Go From There
Does any other dev have a working cyanogen source??

Demo of the ROM.
Ok so here goes i'm thinking of working on a NAND ROM based on 2.3.1 (Gingerbread) Build: GRH78 FOR THE HTC HD2...but guess what...... i'm gonna try and throw HTC SENSE into the mix and see if i can get them to play nicely together....since this could take some time i just wanted to know if anyone is interested at all???? Just Post and ask if your interested......this ROM is going to based off ofMDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.3 with MDJ's Kernel: MDJ S10.3 OC (or whatever new Kernal MDJ releases between now and when i get this rom complete) and the Desire HD Sense including the Sense Camera...(THESE ARE MY GOALS FOR THIS ROM)I Will Be Posting Frequently Since I Will Need Testers to find all the little bugs that i miss....
( I WILL ONLY POST ROMS THAT I THINK ARE SAFE...BUT THERE IS THE CHANCE THAT IT STILL CAN BE BRICKED SO BY FLASHING MY ROM YOU KNOW THAT YOUR VOIDING YOUR WARRANTY AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR DEVICE )
EDIT: Im Gonna Try My Hardest to have a Version posted so everyone can play with it by 01/15/2011 - 01/16/2011....
EDIT: I just sent a message to cortulla....mainly if he has any tips or tricks that might help out with this build....01/14/2011
EDIT: Ok I'm sorry for not posting for so long i haven't forgot about you guys...i'm still working on this rom..its harder than anticipated...plus having the free time to do it gets tricky...work is having mandatory overtime since the iphone is being released on verizon...(SCARED MUCH AT&T????)..SO JUST WANTED TO UPDATE AND SAY I DIDN'T DITCH THIS PROJECT.......02/03/2011
Thanks Everyone and remember we couldn't do any of this if it wasn't for Google, Cyanogen, Cotulla & (DFT), MDJ, Markinus, gauner1986, danij3l, gpc, LeTama, Rajko and others...and if i forgot to mention you im sorry just yell at me and i'll be sure to add you to the list =-)....

That is so funny, I have been searching yesterday for something like this .
Count me in.
WTH, why not
We are always looking for something new to put in our phones
Good luck and count me in...
Santroph
Also very interested...
And I'd like to be a beta tester.
Totally interested in this. Gingerbread has come along a great length in the last copuple of days. Latest stock release dated the 14th shows working lights and usb! Would be awsome to have sense built on top!
Please work on it man
Good luck. It's almost impossible; most of sense is dependant on the HTC framework and most libraries, which are in turn interdependent with the android version they run on (2.2). You pretty much have to replace the whole build with 2.2, which, in effect, makes the build a 2.2.
It would be easier to add to 2.2 the keyboard and animations from Gingerbread, along with the launcher. It's close, but it's not really 2.3 either.
Good luck anyway.
for me it's enough to have the desire hd cam on gingerbread. will it ever be possible to provide only the hd cam tool?

+1.
It's hardly possible to get sense rosie.apk (the launcher) working on stock android... (afaik nobody has done it to date)
plus I bet its impossible to do it on a different android version.
Yet I would be interested.

Why?
Use Camera 360 or a similar app. They do the same (may look worse but who cares?)
(maybe no facial recognition - yet do you really need that?)
it seems to me that Gingerbread mostly enhanced aosp anyways, it tweaked the UI and didn't really have that many enhancements.
If you could just port the Gingerbread keyboard, icon set, Nexus S LWPs, and the screen-off animation to a Sense build then you basically have it.
(may look worse but who cares?)

yep, and that's exactly what i want: a good looking camera app. technically i'm satisfied with the gingerbread cam, but it looks awful in compare to hd cam app...
I'm dreaming of it !!!
Bring it on!
I'd love to give sense a try on Gingerbread!
2.2 Sense ?
Sense HD would be cool but I imagine more work
I'll look forward to it !
+1 Beta Tester
sure man it will be revolutionary start .... good luck ...
Absolutely impossible. You need a HTC leaked ruu I tell you that. Unless you are a fremework wiz. If you are, 10-90 chance. Good luck. You may make history with it.

"if" you're able to pull it off, I sure will try it out
I've been using so many ROMs as of late that just seem not to work..
I've used the Sense 3.0 and loved it, but if you restart your phone you get a million and one Force Closes..
I've used ROMs with Sense 2.1 and Sense 3.0 mixed together. They work.. to a point - The point where you can't use the camcorder, where there are graphics glitches and such.
I've used ROMs that are Gingerbread 2.3.4, 2.3.3 and earlier, but then we lose that 'Sense' like feeling. And then when we use Sense 2.1 we miss that Gingerbread feeling, lol.
Sound familiar? Well try to think about how..
Everyone here does great work at XDA making new ROMs for all of us to try, especially on our HD2's. And if it wasn't for the people who port these ROMs for us we'd have nothing to complain about ;p
What I am getting at is even though we are trying ROMs out that don't quite seem to work yet the way we want to, lets not forget that we are so fortunate as to have these ROMs for our device to try out.
So if you're using a custom ROM made by one of the Chefs/Devs here, remember to hit the Thanks button. And remember that we are complaining about ROMs that people are making for us - Remember that it's those Chefs/Devs on here that give us freedom from the manufactures.
Moral of the story: Remember to thank the Chefs & Devs who give us ROMs to tinker around with instead of complaining that ROMs don't work
Hey,
Just dropped on this ROM based on CM7 and LordMods kernel...
Sweet !
So i wanted to share with y'all
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140749
Woah, thats impressive. I want that notification wallpaper on my LeeDroid lol. Cant live without Sense features myself lmao
I used to be sense addicted but lately I've come to prefer the speed of Cyanogenmod. Its still been a struggle for a flashamaniac like me to keep up though. There just seem to be more and more good roms appearing on our forum every week.
The Paradoxx one I look forward to trying once he rebases to CM 7.10 RC.
wow that looks amazing, ill be sure to try it
Well I know this was worked on a few times before and now it is my turn to see what I can get done. I am tired of not having a working ICS sense rom. I have done a little playing with Platt's PrimOG and it sure is nice looking. Now I dont have plans to kang his work or pitch in and help out on it. I am looking at sense 4.1 roms ATM but as yall know the wind will blow me where I need to go. In the end I might work with Platt's or even drop the project it all depends on how things look when I get into them.
Known issues with platt's rom
Sound is very quite (site claims sound does not work but I can hear it)
No camera (FFC or RC) big bummer
wifi no workie
landscape rosie widgets
and more
So this should clue yall in to what I am facing going into this project. Platt has not done anything since sep of last year on his and looks like he started it some where around this time last year. So off I go to start this and work on that darn JB binary script for my cyanmobile.
Thanks man for taking time to look at this and try to get this to work...it always has looked intriguing...hope you have luck with it...i'll be checking in regularly to see how i'ts going...:good:
Well I was plannig on doing a Sense 4.1 version but it looks like I might be doing the old 4.0 instead. All the stock donors I have found are either ics sense 4.0 or jb sense 4.5. Heck maybe I will try doing jelly bean Shall see which one produces the most fruit.
