[Q] Backup Application Help - Android Software Development

I am rooted and want to unroot. But I do not want to have to redownload all of my applications and change their settings all over again. Are there any FREE apps that will do this? Thanks.

How to move the already installed apps from phone to SD card ?

Can anyone tell me in details ?
Thank you !
Depends on what ROM your running.

It's running CM 6.0.0-DS
The easiest way is to buy the donate version of titanium backup. It has a batch process to move all user installed apps to SD card, and back if you want. Have to be rooted I'm pretty sure. Otherwise go to settings, applications, manage applications, and you can move them one by one.

My suggestion is to go to settings, applications, manage applications and you can select some that are not used very frequently so that will not have an impact on the performance of your phone.
CM6 is an awesome ROM!
Yup CM6 have that good feature in option.change app install into SD. Have not try it myself. Ran into it accidentally. Kekeke

One thing to remember is that not all apps can be movedro the SD card.

Apps after installing CyanogenMod ROM

I'm only after installing CyanogenMod and I'm really happy with it but I have two problems.
1) The Android Market is currently not there? I tried to download an APK file, but how do I install it if I can't download an app to do that?
2) I did a backup with nandroid before I installed the ROM, if I restore the backup I made. Does this remove the ROM? I want all my apps back etc. Is there anyway I can make this so it doesn't remove the ROM but instead restores the essential things I backed up?
Thanks
You need to download the gapps file and install then you will have Google apps and market

Second above post. Legally CM is not allowed to include the gapps n the build. I believe they even received a cease and disist order for having gapps standard on the roms.

Yeah, I read that on the internet so I'll try that. Is that why there is no YouTube app etc.? Thanks

[Q] ClockworkMod + Titanium Force Remove App doesn't work

I have my Desire Z with S-OFF using ClockworkMod and I tried to use the Titanium at to remove the Bell bloatware. Uninstalling doesn't work because it's part of the system image. So I tried the force remove app with removes it from the system and says will restart the phone twice.
It goes and restarts but it stops at the ClockworkMod bootloader screen. Is there a way around this or a different way to remove the apps? Anyone else run into this problem? I don't really want to go through the whole unbranding thing...
Click menu and go into batch mode and scroll to bottom where u fibd user and system apps...thats how i removed mine

Didn't work, it just removes them from the Titanium list and they are still in my app drawer and functionable... when I restart they come back to the titanium list...

I just retried doing the regular uninstall instead of the force remove again and it seems to have worked. I haven't restarted my phone yet (with fastboot off) but the apps are gone from the app drawer and they didn't do that last time I tried it.
I have the same issue, it appears that the ClockworkMod interferes with the rebooting of Titanium Backup to delete the items. I would bet that if you do a restart the apps will be back on the phone.

How to Restore Apps Automatically

I was wondering how to get my apps I previously downloaded on another ROM to automatically restore with a newly installed ROM? My phone is flashed to cricket so I don't know if that has anything to do with it...Sorry for the dumb question....Thanks in advance

That's what im talking about...They don't download for some reason..its weird

Google sync downloads them all. I use adw launcher that allows you to back up app placement on you home screens. Makes it real easy to resetup everything when I flash to a new rom.

The paid version of titanium backup allows one click automated reinstallations of your app backups.
