Hey all,

I has the same problem last year (with an HTC Magic) and the problem was too many apps installed, may be the same problem now.
i had the same issue recent, because i was removing stock app.
wasn't able to download from google android market
wasn't able to syn with google contacts
Flash my x10 fixed it.
Ok, an update,i had to revert re-flash it, no other choice but I recommend wiping your phone every 2-3 months to keep junk off your phone

Youtube app FC

Every time I open my youtube app it force closes like hell. Same with the widget. Is there an apk available so I can re-install? Using jt super clean rom .4 with stock kernel. Problem just started today, installed the rom about a month ago.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
This happened to me once, I reinstalled the youtube app available in sonofskywalker's section in Rom Manager. It's under his "stock apps" I believe.
Hmm works now but it is the older youtube app. Any idea where I could get the new one included in super clean .4?

Umm, unzip the rom and pull it from system/app.
good day.
The new Youtube app will force close if you are logged into your account on it.

Stock Social Networking App question

I was planning on removing the app "Social Networking" bc I use Tweetdeck. However, I was wondering if it messes up the "Messaging" app since Social Networking seems to be tied into it. Please help!
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I am also curious about this. I'm not sure but it seems that the social networking app is always using my gps and it drives me crazy. I could leave the gps on with my droid but now since having a dx I have to manually turn it off or it constantly is on sucking my battery dry.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Well, I just pulled the trigger last night and uninstalled it. It seems to be okay thusfar. Still, if you or anyone else here's of complications this may cause, please let me know. Thanks! (btw, I just installed Root Explorer last night and I've decided from here on out that I'm going to rename files now instead of uninstalling them).

I never used the Social Networking app either so I just froze it with Titanium as well as the stock Messaging app since I use Handcent. No problems so far since they're just system applications that can be replaced with third party apps.
I thought that if you froze the stock messaging app that your mms messages wouldn't work...
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
It wasn't the stock messaging app that I uninstalled. It was the Social Networking app.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I froze both and everything seems to work just fine. Haven't tried mms yet though so I'll have to get back to you on that one.

Getting a ton of force closes

It just started today. Anyone else?
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
Nope may want to check the latest app that you have installed or any recent updates
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
Yeah backtrack your apps install and see what is causing the FC's.
I have two with a third on the way(long story) but nothing wrong with any one of them. Before the update the first one had a few lockups on the browser but after the update neither one had any lockups or FC's.
I have installed all types of apps just to see what will or will not work. Very few FC's if any at all. But I kept track of which apps caused the FC's to remove them until they get updated.
Its on apps like CNN and Facebook which have been working fine before. I guess I will try to track it back.
i get a lot of force closes with the browser and the CNN app. try killing the process as well as the cached process. theres two options. you will see it under 'running applications'
Only force close for me from the Facebook app so far is when I try to load the home screen widget. Slightly annoying.

I've had more FCs than I do on my rock-stable Droid 2 with Fission, esp. in the browser, but I suspect it's because Honeycomb is new.
It'll get more stable as Google handles bug reports and as devs learn how to use the new APIs.
Also, strict mode, which I need to get on, myself.
The FCs I get are retarded. I only seem to get them when I'm exiting out of the app anyways. I did get a FC once when I was using the Facebook app going from the stream to the home page thing, but it didn't actually close the app. So it's more annoying than anything.
the facebook widget and app are not designed for honeycomb, and many have stated it FCs. i would not use it for now. I use the app and it seems to work fine (not pretty, but works).
Also, OP. I used to get a tons of FCs in the browser and CNN. I cleared caches and uninstalled, but sometimes still the same thing. Try rebooting. I know it sounds cliched and the standard windows answer, but it honestly worked for me. I haven't had a FC in a while...knock on wood.
facebook is hit and miss. Sometimes after a boot the facebook app will work. Sometimes it won't. When it isn't working it will just fc constantly and is completely useless. The add account never works. The widget never updates.
Facebook is uninstalled till they fix it.
I get FC randomly, on random apps.. I report all of them.

Important to everyone about FC's, make sure you report them via the in system prompt that happens when they FC
Glad I'm not tithe only one who reports them all. Ha. :]

Iv been getting a lot of FC's also.. even before I installed apps.. just seems that this is a lot more buggy then it should be.
Only FC I get is with the xda app, but that bug has been around for a long time. I dont use the facebook app and stopped using the CNN widget due to it slowing down the home screen. The app works fine for me though. On stock 3.0.1

XDA app force close when I sign in to my account.

Anyone else? Thought the issue would go away after the update, but it still does it. FC's when I log in to my XDA account.
I get the exact samr problem- so I just use the web browser for 'real experience'.
However it is annoyong that the app crashes... Would not expect this for the xda devs.

The free version does that also on my Gtab but the Premium version works.

same problem here
We need a fix for this
they have known this for ages yet they haven't provided it a fix for it.
Same issue here, worked perfectly on the free app before Touchwiz update. I can log into my account and access the forums but as soon as I click on a post it force closes and logs me out.

It crashed on me before TW updates just as op posted. So, it's up to XDA to fix this problem.

XDA app has been broken for months on Honeycomb devices.
Yeah, I purchased the Premium Version for this reason.
Odd, mine has not force closed on me at all. Verizon 4G/LTE GTab.
would be nice if there was a tablet optimized version, like a split screen setup, threads on left, posts on right
I have the same problem but I only get an FC on my tab if I log into my account. No problem if I use the app as 'guest' or use the app on my phone.
