[Q] Battery Life in MIUI roms compared to others :S - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Over the Last couple of days I have been using the stock MIUI rom, it ran supurb and very fast and stable and with the gingerbread theme for MIUI it looked very nice. And battery life for me was incredable using it normally like I do and at the end of the day maybe be around 55-65% left.
I now have moved onto the CM7 rom as wanted more of a stock like phone and read it is very good but from full battery within an hour it is almost 30% BT is not on as know there is a common no sense rom issue.
Although this is easily fixed by just switching back I wandered if anyone knew any stock like roms with good battery performance? or should I just stick with miui?
Im using a Euro HD2, and think its the 2.15 radio

You are using HTC HD2?

You are using HTC HD2? If yes, it's normal. Almost all android roms draining batteries very quickly... And MIUI drains the battery additionally...

I do realise that the MIUI roms drain the battery lol only at a much slower rate all my question was, is there a stock rom that drains it at a similar rate so it lasts say a days use instead of an hour
Also why are the CM7 mods the worst offenders at the min ?

go to market, and download currentwidget. put the phone on standby (turn off BT and GPS) let it sit for a minute, go to currentwidget and see how many mA is showing. if it's 3-7mA on standby, then it's normal.

You should try get your hands on MDJ's Cyanogen Mod 2.6. I thought that had great battery for a CM7 ROM. You won't find it here on XDA as MDJ's work is banned but a little google should do the try.
It comes with the stock launcher but it's pretty easy to download your preferred launcher.

ROM & Kernel with the best battery life?

Hi, so far the only rom I have used is CM6, and the battery life is just absolutely terrible. Maybe its just my nexus, maybe not, point is I want a new ROM.
A ROM that you guys have tried and decided to stick to.
Battery life is VERY important to me.
Try IntersectRaven's CFS kernel, best I have found for CM
For ROM try Enomther, battery life pretty good on that one

I had been using CM 6 for a while and just recently switched over to Enomether's latest TheOfficial ROM. The battery life is now DRAMATICALLY better. Just looking over the Juice Plotter graphs shows that the standby time overnight is almost flat. Say 3-4% drop every 3 hours or so. With CM6, the battery level is on a constant and steeper decline, even when not in use. I didn't take any records, but my N1 on CM6 would be down to ~45-50% overnight if I forget to plug in the charger (from full). I heard that SetCpu will help, but I don't think it worked out for me.
Enomether has its own CPU Governor and while it doesn't offer as many features as SetCPU - the ROM's default settings work well right out of the box - no tweaking is needed really for the CPU governor.
I too was having really poor battery life with CM6, losing about 50% within 8 hours after charge, without even using the phone much! I'm trying out other roms right now just for fun. I'm using Evil's Nxsense but with the kernal posted by Autinhyeu (post # 8541 in that thread). So far seems to be holding battery extremely well. About 5 hours since charge and about 90% battery.
LeoFroYo Rom is pretty good with battery
try the leofroyo rom latest beta. i get great battery in standby with the stock kernal that it comes with. 2.5 hrs per 1% battery. typically in a day making calls and using the internet, i lose about 30%-25% battery. not too bad.

2.0.1 beta 3 is the latest version that i'm using

cm sucks when it comes to battery life in my experience. i tried the 6.0 version when it came out (first stable release) and battery life was horrible.
5 hours since charge? only standby or some usage?

That was mostly standby with setcpu profile setting cpu to minimum when the screen was off. But even with those same settings on CM6 my battery would be about 70% after the same amount of time.
I just reflashed cm6 but with that other kernal so I'll see how well it works today.
MIUI has the best battery life of any ROM I've used on my N1.. idle drain of about .5% / hour when using pershoot's kernels from droidbasement.
I'm using shadow rom2.1 stripped down and I get about 16 to 18 hours usage.

I'm using CM6 and my battery life is great. I got rid of my Seidio extended battery to get an Otterbox case and the stock battery on CM6 is awesome.
My phone has been off the charger since before 1pm and now at midnight its on 46% and thats with heavy use of Angry Birds, text, emails and web browsing !
My battery life is also acceptable on cm6. Not amazing but acceptable. Then again I put mine in airplane mode overnight and get about a 4% drain, which I kind assume might be something to do with my Widgets.
Okay, so I decided to try one of these two ROMs:
Enomther
LeoFroYo
not sure which one yet, and not sure what kernel to use with the ROM I choose.
I hate switching ROMs cuz of the wiping and restoring and all that crap.

Batter Life!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I am now running an Energy Rom, still every build that I have tried, the battery drains so fast!! It is almost unbelievable. I can not get a days worth out of this thing, I have turned off background data, and everything, and it still the battery drains like crazy! What is the point in having Android on this nice phone, when the batter drains too fast, you can barely use the phone? I have tried builds that include Kernel 8.5.1, still battery drains.
Download current widget to see your mA, I thinks that is battery voltage...what radio are you using and WM rom?
With chucky lite, radio 2.12 and froyohd2, if I don't play angry birds my battery still last about all day... And around 7mA in stand by.
I like the Energy Rom, can you give me a link to the FroyoHD2? Also I heard there was a Froyo with no sense ui, but I can not find it. My Radio is working just fine, I have 2.12.50
The answer to this question is all over these forums. 90% chances are the issues are between the 4.2" Screen and You.
With the right settings/configurations, you can get pretty damn good batt life.

Try the MIUI build (any). If you like the nexus one builds you will definitely love the MIUI build. If you don't like the iphone looking style just install ADW or launcher pro from the market. You will also need to use an android friendly wm rom. Use vbn with excellers multiple build loader both are found in the android development section. When you use the build loader app chose auto boot 3 seconds, ( you will know what I'm talking about when you are in the app). Hope this helps
i tryed just about every rom, got atleast 24hrs with all of them. most were 48+ with conditioning... for me bat life was more an isue of shutdown voltage in the kernel than any thing else..

Strange some people say to switch to that from Desire or Desire HD builds because it has better battery life ?
I am running
MDJ Revolution 1.7 with MDJ 7.6HD Kernel
Radio 2.15.50.14
I find that the above radio is better on battery than my previous 2.12.50.xx
Also the Kernel is better too.
But it depends on how much you play with your phone I get 3 - 7ma drain on my current setup but of course when you start calling or playing games it will easily go up to 200ma.
I find the above rom very stable I can't find anything that doesn't work and its fast enough for me I don't notice any lag or freezing.
I was thinking of switching to your ROM to try but if the battery life is that bad then I may stick with this.
guyz lil but of an update here still on the same rom and i've manged to last 14 hours and i still have 72 % in the battery, with very little usage a couple of texts couple minutes of browsing and some music
im using setcpu greenpower and advanced task killer
ssetcpu is at the minimum
advanced task killer set to auto kill - crazy (means it kills apps as soon as screen goes off)
greenpower set to manage wifi and mobile data, turns off wifi and data when there is low traffic and turns it off as soo ans the screen goes off
its working for me so far so just wanted to post it up incase anybody else wanted to know

Best rom for battery life?

I have been bouncing around from rom to rom trying to figure out which has the best battery life, its too hard to tell. I know that htc sense roms killed my battery off faster, but no matter what it tends to die off much quicker than it did before I put android on it in the first place. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks
Iamgpc gingerbread is great as long as Bt is turned off when not in use.

I agree with audioslim. Stable, clean, everything works.
Here's the thread:

I did the same as you, rom hopping...
But everytime i came back to where i am now:
AF403 Desire HD
This is a great rom for your battery.
But as in any rom you should think about what you wanna sync and when.
I use LauncherPro instead of Sense, and I think it better then Sense.
Thanks, so basically 2.2 rom's without sense? And does apps2sd or ext4 have any effect on battery life?

One suggestion for people that are concerned with battery life...
I recently did an experiment of sorts and turned off 3G on my phone. I found that I went from 1 day per full charge to 3 days per charge. I obviously didn't have updates from the email app, twitter, facebook etc., but I just turned 3G on every now and then and updated everything manually. I've since started leaving 3G off whenever I don't need it and generally get 2 days use out of a full charge.
Obviously this won't suit everyone, but if turning off 3G when you don't need it is an option for you then you will definitely experience a much better battery life!

For best battery, don't use Sense.
For best internal memory use ext4, this is better then apps2sd.
This does not realy effect your battey

I really love this build "DL DesireZ v3.3 final][DL Data2SD/Ext4 v2.3][Nand/SD/MAGLAR]"
can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913597
It's a NAND version but there is SD version as well.. (nand v. download link can be found on page 192 because the author didn't update the post yet)
For me it's perfect. The battery life lasts for a complete day. I listen to music about 2-2.5 hours, use internet for about 20-30 min a day and make a few calls. But I always turn internet off when I don't use it it really saves battery (i think it works for any build). Also 1 day I listened to music for 6 hours, used internet for +-30 mins and there was still 37%. I was really impressed!
Decent battery life
Currently I'm using- MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6 and my way is to switch off data. I'm switching on whenever I need. With regular use of data( switch on/off) my battery last for almost three days.

Are you serious? I mean I haven't tried CyanogenMod 7 ROM but what I remember back to stock WM6.5 it was easily last for 1 day for me with normal use.. And now I have the same results on Android (desirez v3.3 rom), I'm very satisfied with that. However 3 days it's kind of hard to believe or I'm wrong? Anyway, how much do you use your phone during the day?

Looking for a great Sense 3.0 GB rom with good battery life

hello everyone. I have been using Cyanogenmod 7.1 for a little while now. I am getting tired of it for right now. I am wanting to try something with sense 3.0 and GB rom. Which one's are great and fully working on the Evo? Also do any of them have better battery life?
P.S. I am currently trying out Synergy rom. My friend has the LG phones on Verizon and man they get awesome battery life. 12 hours off the charger and his phone is only down to 73%. He has been making a lot of calls but man my Evo was off the charger for 16 hours and was down to 15% and I barely even used the phone. I hope the Evo 3D has much better battery life, otherwise I may buy an 3500MAH battery for my evo.

Battery life is not going to be like your friends until we can have custom kernels, which we can't have yet. Not until HTC releases the source code.
Battery life varies from phone to phone anyhow

ok thank you. Looks like I'll be flashing and testing out roms today, thanks again I will report anything else here.
Alliance Rom is pretty
Evo 4g
MikG-c2.15 is working very well - no issues at all. Battery easily lasts a day with fairly heavy use. This is probably the best ROM I have ever had on the Evo. (and I have tried MANY.)
RECOMMENDED.
I love Synergy and MikG but I can't use them as an everyday rom because of the battery life. With Synergy I watched my battery drop to 70% in like three hours after I had my phone off the charger for a few hours yesterday morning. And I had barely touched the phone! That is completely unacceptable to me, sorry. I need my SBC and HAVS. I wanted to go back to MikFroyo but I have an issue with the display usage (stays at like 90% even with the screen off and not touching the phone) that drains the battery in like 10 hours.
Tried to go back to my Salvage-Mod nandroid but it somehow got corrupt. I almost went back to Myn's twopointtwo but I didn't want something so outdated (still a great rom though). So here I am now using CM7...not the biggest fan in the world but it works and it's giving me great battery life with Tiamat kernel 4.0.5. A little over 20 hours with medium usage.
I don't understand what happened with MikFroyo. I never had the display usage issue before. Then it just came out of no where and stayed like that. I tried going back to 4.5 (which I know for a fact it didn't do that on) and it still did it. Tried switching kernels, nothing. I used to get 25-30 hours with a charge on 4.62, and Salvage-Mod gave me the same battery life. So I'm just hoping that new kernels with SBC and HAVS will let me be able to keep Synergy or MikG as a daily.

Keep me updated. I have been using Syngergy today and battery life is ok. I would go back to CM7 but having all of the random reboots when 4G is turned on kinda got old.
I need my SBC and HAVS,. also, but you DO know you cannot judge battery life right after flashing the ROM, right? You DO know you have to let it settle in for a day or 2, right?
this is with 28% remaining after heavy use
this is with 12% remaining after heavy use (ignore the 28% in the header...)
