Android sub app flow process ? - Android Software Development

Hi to every one . Is anybody knows how should looks the process (flow) for an android sub app ?

Your question is worded to where im not really sure what you are asking, BUT i think i know.
Check this out
http://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/Activity.html

Yeah, it's basically a standard STACK....push and pop baby
I'm wondering what kind of error that a call to an Activity that calls an Activity that calls the first Activity would generate? LOL

I got the acceptance today... it's not an application that you can download... it's web based and runs in an applet type application with a jnlp installer. Personally, I think it might be ok for prototyping... but good luck making anything that is close to advanced with it. It would be easier just to write the code.
i am waiting for my reply.........goooooogle............
I wish I had the mind of a programmer! I want to be able to code and write apps so bad, but I'm more of a visual guy. I do 3d animation. Every time I try to learn programming my brain begins to melt.

Yeah, I just got one yesterday. But as eatmold says you can't use a custom icon on the phone (though that may be possible to do, but the people who know guard the secret - google say its on the list, but knowing them that will be 2012!)
However it is possible to export and import code (not java, some special google stuff) - so people might be able to exchange and share information.

Get folder organizer. Might be one word. It allows you to place a widget, with a custom icon, that launches either a folder, or an app. So you'll have a stock app in the app drawer, but at least it'll look nice on your desktop

Like, I'm trying to create a voice driven menu for hands free use so I ask a question and then want it to pause for an answer... Instead it starts talking and the VoiceToText box comes up at the same time. Frustrating...

Good call/text blocking program for Gingerbread

I'm running Android 2.3.4 or gingerbread whatever.. I used to use a app called "Blacklist", it would send unk number's or any number not in my contacts directly to voicemail with no notifications... samething with text. It isn't compatible with gingerbread for reason's unkown.. is anyone using this version of android and have a program that is similar/compatible? Thanks in advance
ChompSMS, Handcent, GoSMS all have blacklisting for text. Not sure about calling.
Thanks, I know Chomp, Handcent etc.. are text apps though... I need something to block random #s from texting me... Kinda like when you're married but give your number to a girl, she calls you, you guys hook and she keeps bugging you type of blocking text

I want unknown callers to be blocked and no voicemails from them cause i have some company leaving me automated messages once every 2-4 weeks, but i do also have people that i know call from numbers not currently in my phonebook. If you get the number they are calling you from you can file a formal complaint which will get the harassing companies fined for their actions. I once caused a 10,000 USD fine to fall upon Dish Network for their actions .

Try the app I mentioned. The reason is, it rejects calls and you can control how it proceeds. It can send the calls to VM or block completely.
And I have GV as well, that is the # I basically use for unwanted calls.
Blacklist by Ming software does both call and and blocking. Works great.

Well it says the root call blocker has to have a rooted phone and its done at the system level, phone doesnt ring and hangup or send to voicmail. Just doesnt let the number connect. I might just give it a try even thou I did pay for my blocker I have now.
You knwo you can always ask me directly right? Its the best blocker of them all, that i guarantee. Also, theres a massive thread here:

Hey! I'm a paid user of Root Call Blocker. Definitely recommend it. I'm using it to block calls and one the features just drops the call as if it never connected. The other person doesn't know what's going on. Definitely a MUST APP.

I second this. The only limitation I've noticed is that you can't block texts that come via google voice. I contacted the developer about it and he was quick to reply and explain how it is not possible at this point. Great app, money well spent!

I know. I found your app because of your thread in the Android Dev and Hacking Apps and Games forum. I still love the app and consider it a must have. I was also quite impressed with your quick and informative reply's to my emails. Great app and customer service. The app saves me from dealing with nonsense I shouldn't have to. Please, keep up the great work!!
Aww, thanks guys!
Your app looks like top notch work....I have not purchased yet but plan to. The app you are trying to resemble (Magicall) is a legendary windows mobile app....and i miss it dearly. It wasnt till Extreme Call Blocker Invisible that i saw an app that could compete with magicall. The ECB Invisible app does everything except:
-provide a private conversation style sms box...keyword conversation style -it is unable to have led-only notification for blocked calls......the lcon has to show for some reason. -and most importantly the app cannot block or mute a call whereas the caller hears the phone ringing but it doesnt ring your phone OR activate the incoming call screen.
I was wondering if your app can do any of the things that ECB cannot do?
Also wondering if your app can do one more extremely important thing that ECB can do which is hide the app icon(like the invisible version of ECB). And open the app by dialing your password on the phone pad like your making a call....hit send on the password and have have the app open up.
If your could successfully accomplish all 5 of these things on a rooted android 2.3 device w/ custom kernel.....I WILL PERSONALLY PAY YOU $200 US VIA PAYPAL. THIS IS NOT BULL****....I AM IN SEARCH OF THE ULTIMATE CALL BLOCKER PROGRAM.

You must have a ton of enemies, cheat on your girlfriend, or something to need it that bad. Not trying to judge but that just seems a bit much for someone just needing to block a couple ex's, telemarketers, or collection calls.

We already make an app that can do all these things and more. Its called Call Master, an advanced call management app for professional users. Its also on XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1291587
Enjoy!
Yep, the two best ones are made by the same company:
Root Call Blocker (for general use):
https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.rootcallblocker.beta
Call Master (for advanced users):
https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.blacklist
These are the only blockers that completely block everything without turning the screen on. Need to be rooted though.

Cell broadcast

Alright guys. Anyone else here having cell broadcast issues? This thing keeps going off telling me there is a blizzard warning. Like 3 times a day.
We were under a blizzard a week ago tomorrow. I got the warning. Okay...cool... then I got another one the following day. Then like 3 more the day after. I've gotten maybe 12 since then. We are absolutely not under a blizzard warning.
The way I understand it, cell broadcast is declared by govt or whoever is issuing the broadcast. They then contact phone company and tell them where to send the broadcast to. They can push nationally, regionally, locally whatever. The cell company just pages it to certain towers to target the correct people the broadcast is supposed to go to.
I read up a bit and saw that there have been some issues with the system earning wrong people etc. But I didn't see anything where people got like 15 wrong messages. I checked around my neighborhood (trying to make sure asking people pinging the same tower) and pretty much everyone with a relatively new phone got that initial broadcast. No one has received any others. So I'm just like WTF?
from what I can tell the broadcast is a one and done deal. The cell company pings the tower, beams the message, done. There shouldn't be any software issues that can affect it that I can think of. But why then has no one else in my neighborhood (or even town) gotten more than one message?
I'm stock. Not even rooted. Did unlock boot loader. I can't imagine I've messed anything up considering I haven't done anything to the phone.
Any ideas?
Attached screen grab showing 3 broadcasts since last night. Previously deleted the others. Also screen grab showing no bad weather.
And holy mother [email protected]&#er just got another one while typing this.

You can just disable the cell broadcast? I know cell broadcast is a good idea (kinda), but if it doesn't really work then you just have to disable it.
It is under Settings -> Wireless and Network -> More -> Cellbroadcast.
Using CM10.1 on mine and Cell Broadcast is gone kinda but maybe it's good I don't have it!
Was happy to see that AOSP 4.2 finally supported it though. I'ms ure CM will do it soon but definitely something wrong with the implementation if you keep getting the same warning over and over.

For most of them, looking out the window is just as effective, and in the case of major weather events, they're usually big news beforehand.
So yeah, not that useful.

Experienced Coder, Android Noob

I have been a Java coder for about eight years now, and am curious about getting into Android app development.
I am winding if there are any tutorials that just dive into actually making apps besides your basic Hello World app like the Android Developers one does. More useful stuff, like fragments and such, that are actually going to be practical to use and teach you more than just how to make a button retrieve and send text.
Any ideas?

I would say go and watch thenewboston's later tutorials and TwistedEquations has some pretty good things with fragments and some other more updated android stuff features. Other than those two things I would just think about what you want to do and look it up on StackOverflow since they pretty much cover every question you might have. You can also just go to the android reference page to find out what methods are available most are pretty self explanatory.
Also you should probably update to Android Studio, if you haven't already because it seems like Google is going for some pretty deep integration with it that will make life much easier.
Hope this helps you out

Using Android Studio since last 1 day or so...Didnt like it much..Seems to be more complex than Eclipse. Also able to open only one project in one window, no project manager like used to be in eclipse where we can manage all projects simultaneously.
Also the cltr + shift + f shortcut to arrange the format of XML not working... Frankly didnt find any advantage over Eclipse till now... But I'm still in getting used to it because I know I have to develop apps on it only because I always like to work on latest stuff...
If you have any tips or feedback then I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
Hey I am struggling to get started, other than hello world I haven't done anything yet. I think I should use the developer.android for learning (because it's official). But still please tell me what to do there. Should I start with the api guides and read all of em one by one, or should I start with the training tab on the website, but then there are many things there that I don't understand well. Idk I'm confused. There's even design part apart from development, should I start with that or that should come after development? Help me with a good ide too, eclipse isn't that great and android studio seems laggy, I hear intellij is the best option right now (and android studio later when it is completely developed).
I had completed my java tutorials way back, I don't think I have a problem with java.

I would not start with the official site. I spent some money on a great book (which is just available in German).
The official site is more difficult to understand than many other tutorials like the ones by Vogella.
I was thinking of grabbing Android Studio, but I'll stick with eclipse for now until it's a little more developed. I started on eclipse, so I'm familiar with it.
It seems like after that first Hello World tutorial, all the official ones are "fluff". Do u really need to know the lifecycle right up front, even before I learn how to actually make an app?
Sure, I get that the lifecycle is important, but if all you have is a lifecycle, with no app on top, that doesn't make sense.

It is important but you will not need it at the beginning for very simple apps as long as you do not want that everything is shown properly after an orientation change. Start programming and learn it by doing.

This is what I meant I understand that it is an integral part of making apps work as intended and expected, but it seems like it's something I'm going to have to learn to utilize sometime later down the road of development, instead of right straight up front.

Actually you should learn that pretty early. Its easy to understand
Think of it like a video game:
On create is when the game is first started
On pause is when you pause the game
On resume is when you unpause it
On stop is when you turn the game off
These are the main methods of the activity life cycle you need to know. You would setup your activity in the on create. In the on pause you would save variables the user entered (android saves certain things automatically). In the on resume you would call those variables back and refill the fields with them. On stop you would close anything that may be running (alarm, music, video) as not to take up resources from the system.
This is important because android pauses activities when orientation is changed so the user would lose all their variables if you don't save them even if they accidentally went into landscape from portrait.

Understood. My point is that the official tutorial spends more time showing off exactly what you posted than actually showing how to make an app complicated enough to take advantage of it.

Yea the official tutorial is really just to show you how to use eclipse with the SDK.
The rest is kinda left to you to do. Its a matter of thinking what you want to do and then doing it. Most tutorials just explain how to use the methods provided in the api. If you had an idea of what kinda app you wanted to create perhaps we could point you in the right direction.
I recommend adding api demos from the sample apps to see how to do most things in android. Since you said you know java reading through the code in this shouldn't be to hard to understand.
