There were a couple of themes that i liked that were on the MyTouch 3G Slide. I got them from that specific forum, since themes.store.t-mobile.com doesn't work for me, even with wifi off and using stock browser, except MT4G got stuck on the boot screen and kept re-loading, i did a battery pull until i finally did a factory reset. Isn't there any way to be able to use those specific teams. Was there something wrong with the .apk? When i installed them there was no issue. Not until i "selected"one to use. Any ideas?
Themes are pretty phone specific. If you got it from the MT3G Slide forum then it will not work for the MT4G unless ported and stated that it would work for the MT4G.

I have rooted my g1 and now all of the old features no longer work. I am running JFv1.42_RC33. I can no longer auto rotate and the on screen keyboard is no longer there. I also noticed the icons are different and that the Android logo when you power the phone on os reverted back to the old one.
What am I missing? I really just want to be able to use all of the cool features that tmobile wants to keep away from me.
I didn't test the device before I rooted it. Now even since I rooted the phone, it reboot itself occasionally when using eugene's legend2slide and SlideM rom. Anyone else have similar problem? I also want to mention that I installed DroidFontsfallback.ttf to the /system/fonts/ after I rooted the phone or using those custom roms. Could the font be the cause of the problem?
.
noticed the same problem i dont know what it is
I have noticed this as well. I went from stock -> ENG -> Legend2Slide -> ENG -> SlideMERoot2. I forget when I think I first started noticing the reboots the second time I had the engineering ROM on - but - I didn't keep the engineering ROM on the first time for more than a few minutes, and I only kept Legend2Slide on for about an hour, so I may just have not had it running long enough to reboot itself those times.
Mine is also rebooting randomly.
Last time it was when i changed it to the camera it lagged for a second and then just restarted.

Don't remember seeing a "Bug" thread, so maybe start a new Bug thread for things that happen after root. Just a suggestion. Thanks.
Same deal here. Its been doing it for a while I just haven't posted anything about it. I'm rooted but on the stock rom and get the reboots every once in a while. Yesterday it did it twice but not today. If I remember correctly I was listening to music and when I stopped the song and hit home that's when it rebooted. Maybe something to do with low memory I'm not sure though as I didn't see the available memory before it rebooted.

Have you guys thought about going back to stock and checking on this to see if it is the phone? If it is return it to t-mobile and get a new one. I have flashed all the available roms and this has not happened to me at all.
Sup fellas
I doubt it is the phone itself. I have had mine running on the standard OS since I got it. I don't want to root unless the froyo update we receive is crap. I'm bearing the pain of not being able to save apps to SD until froyo comes out as an update for the phone. If no luck, then root.
As for reboots, none here. I have had the memory maxed out with widgets on 7 home screens with GDE running, phone running wireless GPS and bluetooth all at the same time and it did not crash nor reboot.
I think there must be some conflict that is in the adk install somewhere. It seems that this is a standard problem after rooting the 2.1 Slide MT3G.
So as we all know, When at&T aria boots it shows annoying noisy 3g splash comes up (thanks at&t). Wakes up my wife when she is sleeping in the morning!
Any way to remove this?
( on tilt I used kaisertweak with success to get rid of that nonsense.)

i know attn1's rom removed the splash. other than that im kinda new to the android scene so that's all im aware of
I'm not really sure if its the same setup for every phone or not but I used this thread to change my Incredible boot animation. Very easy to do. I'm going to try it on my girlfriends Aria soon.

This is my current animation on the Incredible:

When I get home I can upload the two files I used but there also available in that thread above, you just have to dig through some pages.
If you silence the phone before turning it off it should remain silenced when you start it in the morning and wont make the sound.
or you can root it and flash attn1's rom which removes it entirely, which is what I did.
The rooting link is here, by the way,

I have a pretty big problem that started about a week ago. Basically, my phone suddenly stopped showing anything on screen. From when I start it, to when the OS boots, to fastboot, to recovery....all it shows is a black screen, occasionally with three vertical red lines. The touch screen is working completely fine, though.
I'm still learning when it comes to custom OSes, but at first I thought it might be some problem with CM6 RC1. However, since every single thing on the phone shows a black screen, I worry that it's actually more of a hardware issue. Hopefully the collective knowledge of the internet can help me figure out and possibly solve this issue.
I guess to see if it's the OS, I'd like to know if there's a way to make a nandroid backup and flash a new rom through adb? And if that doesn't work, what should I do?

Explain to me how you know that the touchscreen works if you have no video.
It sounds like a hardware issue to me.
Did you try another ROM?
Maybe cm6 just didn't install right, it is still a release candidate, for a replacement ROM I would suggest cyanogenmod RC2 if you're really into FroYo, but if you want stability, cyanogenmod 5.0.8 is a great, you might also want to try Chromatic 3.9.1, based on cm 5.0.8

I can feel it vibrate when I unlock the phone (which I can still do because I've done it so many times). I know the OS is running, and it still receives calls and texts fine. Just showing absolutely no video.
And I haven't tried another ROM because there's no video in recovery or fastboot either, which makes me think it's a hardware issue sadly. If there's a way to flash a ROM through the PC I'd give it a shot though.
There is a way to do it through recovery but I can't remember how at the moment. Until I do, have you considered using ddms.bat and use the screen capture (constantly refreshing) to navigate and use ROM Manager with Clockwork Recovery to flash your rom?
I'm about 90% certain that it's a hardware issue though.
Hello my name is Xan Steel. I've been trying out roms on this forum for my Epic 4G. However I've run across a lot of bugs in this rom "ACS ICS V6". I would love to be able to post them in the development thread pertaining to the rom, but since I'm under the 10 post limit to post in a dev thread. I would like to ask how I go about doing this the correct way without breaking forum rules.
Thanks in advanced
Xan Steel
Tell us what your problems are here.
1st you have to have 10 post. Go to other threads and comment on stuff like the off topic forum. Then you should be able to post on dev threads. Or you can pm them and let them know.

Well as Neckberg has said to post my issues here (Thanks) I shall.
[ROM] ACS ICS V6.
Where to began.
I came from ACS SyndicateFrozen 1.1.1 I could never get 1.2 to run. And this ROM was based on GB. Really wanted to see what GB was like. SO after installing the ROM. Everything started out normal (no issues at that point). It was sluggish which made me wonder if Carrier I.Q. was still in the ROM. It wasn't listed that it was removed.
SO I started trying things out. Everything was going good until I turned on the Wireless WiFi Tether. It crashed outright. Tried again, and crashed. It would open to a black screen and then crash. So I did some digging, and apparently this is a known issue. So I got a different one from the market that worked (Open Garden WiFi Tether).
I installed Opera. I like Opera for it's desktop mode that actually works over Dolphins. I would type in a address, and hit go, and it would act like its going, and then stop and remove what I had typed. Tried again, and it would load a blank page. Tried a third time, and got the HTML header to load the page in a text format. Uninstalled and reinstalled same thing happen. So I left it alone, and about 3 hours later it had uninstalled itself/completely missing on the phone and market stated it wasn't installed. Rebooted phone, still gone. Not idea where it went. After reinstalling it again. it would do the same thing.
So I flashed and wiped X3. And reloaded the ROM. Thinking I have a bad load.
reinstalled all my apps and even though Opera is still doing it's thing I mentioned earlier, it hasn't uninstalled itself... yet.
Now after the reload of the ROM. Last night I lost cell service (couldn't make calls) but I had data. Which was odd to me. Rebooted the phone, and same thing. Had data but not cell service. After about and hour or so, I have cell and data back together. Maybe it was someone working on the tower in the area at 11pm, or maybe the ROM decided it would be funny.
Another thing I noticed. If you hit the menu button to pull menus in apps and on the home screens. They are white on black. White text and image, on a black background. Now if you go into any sub-menu from the main menu, its black on black. You can't read anything unless your lucky to have a bright white page behind it, so that it can try to bleed through some of the transparency.
The battery icon when charging in portrait goes from normal to skinny (blinking), while in landscape mode it goes from normal to fat (blinking).
Also two music apps is not really needed. One is fine. Trimming down on unneeded apps would help save on space. Also remove Carrier I.Q. if it hasn't been yet.
Adding that super brightness, is actually bad. Not thinking about it, it's actually crashed the video HW of the phone. On a plain white screen at max brightness, it starts to artifact, and if what ever your trying to do doesn't complete. The video HW crashes, and you get a pretty rainbow on the screen until you pull the battery. Basically acts like a dying or dead video card in a PC. Also it can (and has happened to me) cause screen burn in. If you want a image of it let me know and I'll post one.
Also Rom Manager does not recognize any ClockWorkMod Recovery, if you manually install the recovery yourself.
If I find anything else buggy I'll post and update here.
Thanks
Xan Steel

Note, I haven't tried this rom myself.
No, carrierIQ is not removed on this rom, nor has it been removed on any GB rom that I know of. Still, removed or not, it won't make any difference in the performance of the device.
Any apps that you fine are useless can easily be uninstalled, even if they are installed system/app folder. Rom chefs correct attitude about roms is that they build for themselves first. I personally have 3 music players installed.
We don't have official Rom Manager support so that will be an issue on pretty much all non AOSP roms for the epic.
Your lack of service issue it probably a carrier issue and not a rom issue.

Ah makes sense. It's relatively new, and most likely not been worked on yet.

Ah, then I should be able to remove them myself fairly easily.

It's a good possibility since it only happened the one time, but since it is a beta, and I'm using it for the first time. I felt it needed to be brought up just in case it wasn't. Heh beta tested a lot of new software, and got into the habit of reporting everything, even if it looks like something else is the issue and not the software.
Many Thanks
