Has the 1.6ghz project died? Are they still working on it or have they abandoned it? I really want to try it out.

Dead project, go to their forums for more info.

there was an issue where the clock speed appeared to be at 1.6 GHz, but in reality, as they increased the speed, the actual system speed decreased. (i think the term is clock-gating).
The remains of the manhattan project in the 2.2 kernels is that of Dragon and DoW, only they are up to 1.4 GHz.
Oh well, I'm flashing the dragon kernel then

Wasn't manhattan for eclair anyways?

I PMed Morific a while ago for a 1.6 ghz DOW kernel for froyo. He said that it should be stable if your phone can handle 1.6 ghz. Mine can't.
I think still have the .zip file though.
According to them:
Project mothballed and knowledge from it taken on to core, core is more advanced and attempting to resolve issues with the high end overclock that are fatal to this projects design.
heres thread if you want to check out more info: http://board.teamwhiskey.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=53&start=0
Just so people know, core is also a 2.1 (eclair) only kernel.

dead as a door nail, trying to over clock that high ..........too many freezes....... too unstable
I don't believe the kernel was at all stable and potentially significantly more dangerous than other kernels

Do we even need to overclock? Lol... this phone zips!

Wait til Froyo comes out with JIT support
I wonder what kind of scores we will get with that? I don't know about the 50s I've seen from other phones
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
well i already have a Froyo rom with jit enabled
and i get 13 at least on linpack but i want an OC'ed kernel lol

I guess, my apologies OP i'm just jealous that you have a Froyo build :-( But i has 1.3ghz oc mwuaahhahahaha!!!!
I flashed the jac overclock, but it seems to freeze from time to time, any help?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Your phone probably can't handle oc. You should try the 1gz kernel instead.
Thanks I will try, I don't really care for the speed but oh well

Exactly. My phone's the same way. If you're looking for speed on 2.1 I'd recommend Z4 mod.

Just flash a froyo, stock kernel and it flies man.
They are daily drivers in my opinion, no real hiccups.

Yea, I just installed Axura and really like it.

Ok so I know they share processors and are quite similar so will our phones ever be capable of this...

I know quadrant is flawed towards some devices, I'm not saying anything about that, I have my shift at 1.8 and I'm only pulling 2100...
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
On Evervolv (AOSP GB) I can pull 2700 at 1.8.
EDIT: Just pulled 2823. Have faith, the Shift will dominate

What SetCPU settings are you guys running? I've tried multiple governors and freq combos (I haven't locked or rebooted once with max 1.8) but can't even break 1900 in quadrant! I'm using the latest free version of quadrant available on the market if that matters.
I'm jealous of everyone else's reported scores =( My FPS also don't seem to have improved much over stock in the graphics benchs.
Fps won't change much

Overclock your vibrant phone after rooting it and flashing trigger 2.2?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Did you flash an overclocked kernel?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Nope I didn't just root and then put trigger 2.6 that's it nothing else
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
You have to install a kernel that allows OC in order to do so. Even then you may get problems if you have a Vibrant thats picky about its voltages.

Just like mine, i'm runing trigger 2.5 after issues with other ROM's. Now i'm happy and very stable. I wouldn't OC.

nothing ventured, nothing gained
Just flash one and take it for a spin. See for yourself. I have Axura with Morfic's kernel and its beautiful!

I was reluctant too, flashed the DOW14 and i'm really glad i did.
If you are OK with loss of Battery life over clocking is OK. For me, having a phone that after 24 hr of moderate use I still have 65% battery left is Awesome !!
Giving that that up just to have a higher Linpack or other high benchmark score ...to me is pointless..........
It will kill you phone if you oc high frequency
I wonder if the samsung galaxy 3 can be overclocked with any kernels. If so, what is the maximum speed that can be achieved. 1.8ghz would be really nice.

I had the international s3 and I had it overclocked to 1.8ghz ....

This is also how i feel. Also you cant overclock the stock kernel until someone releases a custom one. You could try but it wont stick.

I know what you mean .... I just overclocked it to see what was the max to set .... I think that it can hit easily to 2ghz on the international version .... I don't know about the US version ....
Sent from my SGH-T999 using XDA
I'm not sure I see a point to overclocking yet
maybe after the phones been out a while and everything settles down we could have a custom kernal that would be easy to under or overvolt
but i really dont think the phone needs it...i'm more looking forward to custom roms like a pretty much pure google ICS or JB rom maybe with some extras added in
Bigger e-penis scores (quadrant) duh
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
im using aokp rom and ive overclocked mine to 1.7ghz depends on the phone. some phones can go to 1.8ghz if lucky if not then 1.6 ghz, it varies from phone to phone
I'd imagine Quick Clock would work on these. Not my favorite way to overclock, but its easy.
