[REQ] CyanogenMod 6.1 Beta2 for Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 Working on the Vibrant

Hey people
I was wondering if some body can port this ROM over... I've been hearing about this ROM when I was still on windows (TP2) I seen Noobnl try to do something with it. But I heard he quit (Great DEV)... Okay back to what I was saying I was playing with it a little bit with his release. Seems like its banging
I seen this on the Vibrant forum with a Port Link and was wondering if somebody-anybody who knows how to port if they can port this over

[ROM] means this post contains a rom. not a request. those have a different title all together.

I believe we can't port over the Vibrant because it's GSM and we're CMDA..
Could be wrong; but I think thats what i've read before.
Also.. Your title is a little misleading; you shouldn't put ROM in brackets if you arn't launching a ROM

Also, no CM rom because Sammy hasn't given us source code for drivers and whatnot.

The other thing about this post that i find just staggeringly stupid is that if you look down a little bit on most days you'll see noobnl's posts about 6.1 betas for the epic and how hes working on it, which only goes to prove that the search feature is either dead or non function for the Epic section of the forums, or somehow the words get distorted when other people that the poster and the literate read them.

HAHA, love it. Yeah I was commenting the other day on how google's servers are apparently down. Perhaps we could start a thread "[ROM][FIX][BUG][REQ][WIKI][STICKY][SEX][PLEASE][STOP] SEARCH FUNCTION BROKEN!!!!!!!!!" to let everyone know that they will need to just man up and create a new thread every time they have a question about anything, no matter how stupid, useless, or even already answered.
I will work on setting up a petition for the new thread?

i would say someone should sticky a post with some ettiquite (cant spell since my work's IE doesnt have spell check lol) "tips and tricks" kind of like the forum's rules that you have to read when you sign up, except it would probaly be moved to the general sub forum because it has nothing to do with development and probally be ignored worse than XDA's rules.

If it's been posted and answered before and it bothers you that much, just move on. Forums are a place for helping and spreading knowledge. Contribute something, or don't say anything at all...

We are contributing by trying to *bully* some sense into a format(forums) that was tried and true, within our circles, until those who probably don't fit into anything we do here, (just want hand outs) come and muddy the waters....
I go to a good number of forums daily, and this nonsense is only on xda.. There are forum rules, if people can't live by them, they shouldn't post...

well luckily sprint hasnt givin an official ETA so theyre tryin to avoid the froyo debacle. this is first ive seen of this too thanks shane. there should be an option to ban certain people from posting on your threads.

Your right you didn't. I just don't see why you have to hop on every thread that the op didn't thuroughly search google for. You know a lot of us are on tapatalk or xdaapp and its impossible to search. And besides this is the only thread discussing this current build, if it wasn't it'd be another story and you'd be right to flame him for not even looking through the first pages. I'm really not trying to argue with you, you seem like a cool, informative person I just wish I didn't see you on so many threads in every subsection chastising people for not searching or whatever, it gets old.. and this is general! This is way more deserving of it's own thread than the other 75% of pure crap that gets posted in here. If an official software release version for this phone doesn't deserve it's own topic, than nothing does.
Now back on topic, here's hoping this is the actual release build and we'll see it within a couple weeks. The last leak ran great other than a couple bugs.

Actually I'm at work and saw it there while playing around on my break. I did a search for EF29 on the xda search tool and got no hits so I started the thread.

It's really sad the every f*ckin thread in the general section has to turn in to this. Can't anyone just appreciate that someone takes time to post information? This is way better than the 250 see ya bye, the epic sucks, or threads about other phones in the epic section. I'm really starting to see why the developers are leaving this site. The site I came here from wouldn't put up with this crap at all. You get 3-4 post like what happened in this thread and it get's closed and warnings go out to the instigators. Who want's to put up with this crap? I'm hoping this is my last post in this thread, but somehow I doubt it.

I haven't seen this anywhere and it didn't show up on XDA after a search. The latest build from Sprint is EH06:

And stickies are on their own separate tab when looking at each forum on the XDA/Tapatalk apps. Largely over looked tab.

I consider this thread to be useful.
Therefore it will be locked by the mods. No I wont scroll through that stupid rumor thread.

Sorry, but the "rumor" thread is nothing but pages and pages of total crap about every phone in the world except the Epic, then the same guys that post all the garbage complain when people can't find something Epic related and they start a new thread. Makes no sense.

For someone who wants to be a trusted source, this is a really rude way to tru and get people to use your thread. They can unsticky it at any time, if they choose. Allow people to make choices. That's part of our love of Android as well.

This is still the Epic forum and that thread is a zillion pages of everything BUT the Epic. So, the original post of that thread may be on topic, the rest is all off-topic garbage that belongs somewhere else.

Zander, your OP in the rumor thread is nice because the links are all right there. However discussion about the topics it too splintered thoughout the thread. I honestly would rather see Epic related general topics each have their own thread where the posts are about that one topic. I think your thread is great for topics like what new phones are coming, or things about sprints future 4g plans, and things like that.
I wish the people that frequent your thread could just leave everyone else alone and not complain when someone starts an Epic related topic that has already had a mention in your thread.
I for one, only look at the OP of your thread just to find the links.

However, a user has uploaded a flashable zip that does all the work!

Flash the zip and you "should" be good to go. I was at least.
You can use the "search" captivate key to access google now.

You know, I was browsing around the forums yesterday...and I found xrider's thread and I felt like such a A-hole for
making another thread after he already made one. It didn't even dawn on me to post this in the app section, so before I posted it I searched around the general section and didn't find any thread like this....I was thinking about it as more of a feature, but no, no...its definitely an app.

Like all forums XDA has a number of trolls. Some this behavior is intentional some of it not, sometimes its just down to language differences.
Part of my day job involves spending my time on programming forums where I come across troll behavior. One of things that has helped me to ignore this and not get worked up I learned from this presentation by Nicole Sullivan (aka Stubbornella).
Its well worth watching it and has helped me keep my blood pressure low.
