Evo haters out and about

Just wanted to say that since xda added iPhone (lol) to its list of phones there sure has been an outbreak of trolls!
I just wonder why ppl are complaining about a phone they hate but continue to use. We all know battery life sucks (things are looking up ) and yea it lags sometimes but seriously I am baffled by all the hating. I for one love my phone and have had my problems with it but with development changing all the time there is always a dev willing to fix your problem.
I only wanted to share my love for the Evo so ppl can share there love also... lmao...

1) Battery life doesn't suck, if you tweak the phone. Which, logically, doesn't mean that it sucks if you don't.
2) My Evo seems to be doing everything above 40fps. Can't really say that it's lagging.

This was total sarcasm (from me) from what trolls have been saying... like I said I love my Evo don't have any problems with it.. I am currently getting 16+ hours which is why I said things are looking up...I also don't have any lag issue but o have had random lag before but this supposed to be a mini computer so of course its not gonna be perfect everyday/sec

I also think it has to do with the lack of moderating on these forums.
Clear and obvious trolls [I can name two names right now but won't] should be banned.
But here they aren't.
Pretty much you have to spam the report button to get any kind of response from the moderating crew.
And then you run the risk of your own ban for "bothering" them.

It's pretty simple. I own a EVO because I wanted a Android phone to take advantage of Google Voice which I use as a business line. It's a good phone, but as good as the EVO is, it isn't perfect. I personally don't start threads criticizing the EVO (because it simply doesn't make sense to here) but if the discussion comes up and people start responding about how the EVO is crystal clear perfect, I speak up. If you were expecting a forum where EVO users just high five'n themselves in ignorant bliss well then just ignore posts like that.
I personally don't see a problem with criticism if it's done tastefully (i.e. with specifics and not general blanketing statements like "OMGZ the EVO/iPhone sucks!"). And it goes both ways anyway - you can't go to any Android site and read about other phones without some (and funny enough EVO users are by freaking far biggest culprits) idiots yelling "SO WHAT!! MY PHONE IS THE BEST!!!" You've got the same people here.
Bottom line this is a General forum about the EVO, and anything about should go. Trolls are trolls and generally say idiotic things that should just be ignored; but don't be surprised when vocal people like me to speak up when a complete EVO fanboy goes into fantasy land.

Yeah...love my Evo...BUT dying to get my hands on anything Terga 2. Trolls are ignorant fanboys with zero life, I am gonna jump on something faster and more efficient as soon as it becomes feasible....but for now my Evo is wonderful and hasn't failed my yet!

I assume this is from the other thread? What did they tell you? The lack of moderation here is kind of ridiculous

almost all the evo users i know love the phone. it's also praised very highly online. as a matter a fact many of the users and devs at precentral just bought evo's to replace their palm pre's.
as far as the iphone, it's a great phone but hardly what id call a smartphone. im willing to bet $$ though that alot of users will be switching to one once the cdma version hits though.

No true multitasking, being locked out of installing anything not found in apple's market (without jail breaking), these two alone make it seem pretty dumbphone-ish to me.

Now this is not a bash atrix post so don't start but I walked into att with 544$ to buy it outright played with the demo and said no way.My nexus s is a lot faster and way better screen IMO I'm a developer so I need a hacker type device persay.Nothing out is going to compare I guess to fast updates and I'm a phone gamer and the all new gyroscope is a must for me also the upcoming Nfc apps witch again only the nexus s has but I do love the finger print scanner I so want that anybody else think so?

Any Moto Android phone would pretty much be the wrong choice for developers. Having had an N1 and having the Atrix now I find it a much snappier device and I prefer the Atrix display as well.

Yea true that's why I stuck with my nexus s I like the samoled over qhd I would like to see the new Sammy samoled plus

I'm not sure what you guys are looking at, but the Atrix imo has the clearest screen second only to the Retina display.

S Amoled is tons better. Do a comparison at the store like I did.

S AMOLED has WAAAAAY oversaturated color reproduction compared to the motorola atrix's realistic color reproduction.

The problem isn't his opinions on the Atrix. The problem is the fact that he keeps creating threads in our forums, posting about the SAME EXACT COMPLAINTS about the Atrix. He's annoying, and he's not capable of constructive criticism.
No one told him to trade in his Nexus S for an Atrix.

I passed on the atrix after comparing screens. Samsung infuse 4.5 S amoled 2 screen straight up destroys the atrix screen by the way.

I have the captivate, and the Atrix. I think the Atrix screen looks a lot better IMO. The colors do seem a little more natural on the Atrix; as far as speed the motoblur slows it down a bit, but Samsungs UI is much worse. I will ditch both for ADW EX.

Finally had a chance to play with mine and the screen is amazing next to my iphone4. It is x10 better than my Nexus S as well. I also had the captivate a while ago and whilie it looked nice the text didnt seem as clear to me as this ATrix.
Good phone, nice screen and Quadrant scores were 2300 consistently. I just dont like the Motoblur stuff.

HD2 = What a great phone;) How do you think it stands up to the NS & New Phones?

Guys the Nexus S is great, but credit where credit is due, the HD2 is freaking amazing.
The beast will run ANY ROM, and will do it with few errors. One day you can have Sense, the next WM7, Then maybe Linux or Meego.
It even has a functional port of 3.0
Respect to the HD2, King chameleon of all phones

Well i know its a bit of a backward step but I was thinking of selling my NS and getting a HD2 just for the great ability it has to run practically any rom Just wanted to hear a few opinions on the subject

i think that youll be downgrading, i wouldnt do it. id just buy a cheap used hd2 to hack on, like i did with an original droid recently. just to hack on for fun

I own both phones. I think the hd2 is great for its versatility and for how much it has evolved. However, compared to the nexus s, performance of 2.3 on the hd2 is nowhere near the nexus s. Battery life is also horrible on the hd2.

I have both in my house and compared to eachother the NS blows the HD2 into last year. Just because it can run more doesn't mean it can run them well

Anyway, I agree with Simms, I think replacing your Nexus S would be a downgrade. My friend has one and I can attest to its horrendous battery life. Although I do love the fact that it has so many software choices.

I think this can be pretty cool. I always wondered what it'd be like to run a superior OS on other hardware. I wonder if eventually bugs can be worked out and we have it running smooth or will it just stay a buggy port. Maybe we can port a gingerbread sense dump and have it running flawlessly. Who knows anyway thought i'd share...

While I prefer Android, iOS is good stuff.
iPad, iPod, iPhone, etc... it's a niche market. Why anyone would waste their time getting Android running on an iSomething is beyond me. Hardware wise, the iPhone4 isn't impressive (except for the screen).

Technically the rude guys are right. It's not about EVO, but still interesting and conversation worthy nonetheless.
I think it's interesting. I've been following the iDroid project for a long time now. It just makes sense. I have an iPad which has fantastic hardware. Software....not so much. If i could put android on it and NOT have to purchase another device, awesome! It's good to hear they've finally made some headway on it all.

With all due respect to the people attacking this thread, there's very little going on about the Evo itself anymore.

actually posts about 4g cities are relevant because people can use their 4g evo's in those 4g cities. the whole purpose of those threads are to alert people in those cities that their evos are more functional.
honeycomb source code not being released is relevant because we want it on our evos.

I actually like the IP4 hardware, if it had a larger screen (~4.3 in) and a flawless Android port, it may just be may favorite device. In reality, HTC makes good hardware and I love my EVO, though it is not as sleek and polished as Apple's hardware. Unfortunately, iOS leaves too much to be desired for me to consider it as a daily OS.
