Sounds like you fell victim to the poor quality of the microUSB port on the HD2. If you can, I would re-flash back to WinMo6.5 and send it in for a warranty repair. If not, you're next best choice would be to send it into a 3rd party repair shop. =/ Sorry.
well this is the usb chord im talking about not the microusb

What? You plug the USB cord into the microUSB port and you're not getting any reactions. Sounds like the microUSB port is broken...
nonono ok have coffe mug with usb charger and 12v adapter you plug usb into i plugged usb from my usb data / charging cable into the usb 12v adapter to see if adapter would charge phone and now the phone says plug in charger when already plugged in like its not recognizing the charger is plugged in on both usb data cable i used to try the 12v adapter AND seperate charger that had nothing to do with adapter and the usb charger cable plugs into the phone
oooh ok where i plug the cable into is the microusb port i get it ... ok that seems to be fine to it was working perfect until i tried to use the usb 12v adapter to try charging the phone could the adapter have fried the charger hardware in the phone ?

Possible, the voltage is pretty high and could conceivable short your charging circuit...
All of the USB adapter should be outputting about the same since the USB ports are standardized for electrical output. I suspect your USB data cable could be at fault. If you phone doesn't react to your USB cable being plugged in, you also may want to try pressing one of the hard keys on your phone so that it can realize that you are plugged in via USB. I have that issue with my phone from time to time and just press one of the hard keys so that the phone knows it is plugged in for charging.
that somthin that can be fixed or is that a throw the phone away problem
believe me i tried ...... i pressed all kinds of buttons and no reaction.... and now the battery died so i cant do anything

I wouldn't throw your phone away... Try a 3rd party repair shop - they should be able to fix it for around $70... Expensive, I know, but it's better than spending $500 on a new phone.

Definitely not true. They don't know what they're talking about and I wouldn't trust them anymore. Try CellularDr.com. I sent my phone in to repair for the exact same problem and it's in the process of getting fixed now. They even have the part to repair it. I've called and talked to them, they can fix it and they don't care about custom ROMs on the phone.

I just posted on the accessories forum about my experience with the Brodit active holder that I purchased. Mounted it in my car, and plugged the brodit charger in. Fuse in car charger went bang (not literally). Now I know it's not my power adapter in the car, as I've been using another JasJar charger and GPS charger for ages, so I went to Halfords and bought some replacement fuses. Tried them in the charger. Every one died too instantly.
I assumed the charger must be faulty, and arranged to send the holder back to Clove to replace it. It wasn't until I plugged my JasJar into the normal charger last night that I discovered it was no longer charging at all. I tried unplugging and replugging. I tried using the USB cable in my pc. Nothing works. Even the other car charger won't charge it any more.
I'm guessing I now have to send my JasJar to HTC for repairs and be without it for a couple of weeks. I'm not too happy about it though, and thought I would ask here first if this has happened to anyone else and if there might be a way to get it charging again without having to send it away.
i had a similar problem, i went to france with a charger that had a changable head, with pins for the different countries on click in plates, and on the top was a usb socket.
i took a standard usb to mini usb cable with me figuring this is a usb charger like the one that came with my phone but no, i couldnt get it charging, then after 12 hrs of it refusing, it eventually kicked back in, i sussed you had to use it like plugging it into a pc, ie, it turn it off, wait, then plug it in. bingo it started charging again.
its working like activesync, right pain, shoulda just taken me charger and a mains convrter
sorry it doesent really help but its poss related

similar problem. but i change the port miniusb. 30 dolares in mexico.
no problem, is easy. and now is working ok.
Well I've sent it in for repairs now. Couldn't get the thing to charge.
this forum is amazing...if there is an information available, you can bet it you can find it here...:
thanks carnivor: I had the same problem, but just was not smart enough to get the idea to shut it off and then on...with your help i solved the problem...i still don't get it, why it did charge with the original charger or with the usb cable from the pc and not with the generic usb charger and that same cable....and actually: it depended on the ROM installed: with the qtek rom it did not matter, with the t-mobile it did..
anyway: now it works. thanks!
I notice that the power lead is thinner than a usb lead so there may be less wires inside, ie 2 + ground instead of 4 + ground, the lack of TX and RX connections may well be what causes it. Im not going to hack into the charger cable just yet to find that out.
Intresting about the rom versions changing the fact if you can have device on before sync or not. Im not going to reflash now with an update around the corner im just going to wait for that.

yes, but interestingly it also doesn't work with the same cable that syncs and charges from the pc, when this cable is connected to the lighter or the generic USB charger...so the mess starts already in the charger.
but bottomline: as long as there's a workaround...
Not sure if this is right part of forum, but here it goes.
I am having an issue with the charging of my O2 XDA Mini.
If my battery dies, with still a small bit of power left in it (enough to get splash screen) and I go to charge it works fine no problem. Now over the wkend my phone died on my and I left it till this afternoon when I tried to turn on, it wouldnt turn on at all (not even splash) because obviously the battery is completely dead. Now when I go to plug it in, it wont charge, from USB cradle, the little orange light to say that its charging doesnt even come on.
Last time this happened I eventually got it to work via a friends socket (plug) charger, rather than USB, charger. Is there any reason for this or anyway that it can be fixed that even when the battery is completely dead I can charge it from my USB cradle.
Any help would be apreciated.
Thank you in advance
Rattlehead
Sorry to bump this, but does anyone have any idea. I beleve the cause of this is due to the fact the USB power from the PC isnt enough to get the charging process started, is there anyway to get this done via the cradle.
Thanks
Rattlehead
You'll need to use a charger that plugs into a wall socket I'm afraid. This happened to me once & that was the only way I could get it to work. If you search on Google, you'll find methods that involve a stripped down usb cable, but a wall charger is definately easier.
Good luck.
Should any usb based wall charger work?
I have a Motorolla one and Ive tried that but that didnt work.
I know for a fact that when I use my friends one it works and will charge, but he aint round for another 2 weeks

You cannot charge a totally flat battery through usb cable using PC,cuz it only supplies 0.5(500)amp,whereas to get the dead battery back into charging,it requires a supply charge of 1.0(1000)amp,secondly you can only charge the phone via usb if it's working normal and not when it's dead,as you cannot boot into OS.
Therefore,it'll only start to charge with a 'Wall Charger' which only supplies 1.0 amp, your friend's Wall (Mains) charger must be suppling a 1.0 amp charge. You cannot even charge it with the Motorola usb charger cuz it also supplies only 0.5 amp.So try to get a Wall (Mains) charger to get it start charging.
OR,
Yes! you can Jump start the battery using Motorola charger, but you'll have to sacrifice the motorola charger to do it,as you'll have to cut off the usb plug of the charger cable end and attach the 'Red' wire to the '+' (Possitive) connector of the battery and black wire to the '-' (Negative) connector of the battery and give Shock Charge to the battery for 10 seconds, repeat this for 4/5 times,it'll give the battery a jump start and will increase the 'Pulse' level of the battery, after that put it in the phone and check if it loads up,if it does then you can charge it via usb cable connected with PC.
Good luck
BTW ! there's an excellent thread regarding charging to avoide the battery to go flat and saving from getting into this situation,it wud be very info for you, check it also :-

sorry couldnt reply to you before now, zabardast_1 thank you so much.

Here is a simple way of solving the problem, go and buy a charger, they cost next to nothing.
Hi! Some water spilled over my charger. Being unaware of that i plugged it in to charge the phone and the charger made a popping noise and stopped working... My phone is working, im charging through the usb cable but my laptop doesnt see the phone anymore so i may transfer files... The USB cable just charges the phone...that's it... What could i do?
that popping noise was your charger going BOOM
buy a new usb cable/charger
it might be a good idea to buy a new battery, but if its not damaged then dont bother

Hi I've got a problem with my phone. If I connect it to the PC using orginal USB cable it charging, transfering data and so. But if I connect the phone to the wall charger it don't charge only screen wake up but no charging on battery icon. The wall charger is orginal too. I've tried changing ROMs.
This problem is really anoying so if You can, please help me.
You write you use the original charger, but do you also use the original USB cable? It matters, cheap USB cables do not work on the Defy :-(
seems some problem in wall socket adaptor

Got to check that out, cause I've been wondering why I can charge my Defy+ in some wall chargers, some computers, and so far no car chargers. Would be great if the cables are the cause. Thanks
I use the orginal usb cable too

There's nothing wrong with your phone, ROM, or USB cable, but your wall charger is broken.
Just get your charger replaced. That's what warranties are for.
The Defy doesn't really care about USB cables. If it's switched off it will charge anyway, so the ROM doesn't matter either. But it's very picky about the current and voltage stability of the charger. That's why many 3rd party chargers don't work no matter what cable you plug into it.
I was in non-official phones service and they check charging on another adaptors but i think they were not original. Anyway as i remember when lastly phone was charging it was a storm and on the next day it wasn't working but i'm not sure.
I know this thread is old but i didn't find solution to this problem, soooo:

What's debugging got to do with wall charger??
Doesn't matter from where I send it, what matters is written above
So why when I turn it on i have problems with charging?
Bug?
if u use External charger u must charge ur phone with mcgyver for 10 min.
after that use the External charger.
becaz ur battery so low.
Charging Issue
I got the same problem from the day i bought the mobile... The service center people told its charger issue and need to replace the charger. So Changed the wall charger under warranty. It took around 2 months to get my charger back. But the things are same. It sometime charge. Sometimes the screen will on and didnt charge. I tried changing different Versions. Same thing. Even the service center people have no idea about it....
Could you check if the micro-usb connector of the phone or that of the cable is clean, dirt and dust reduces or prevents transfer rate of electricity.
Hello community,
trying for half an hour to connect my note 3 to the pc using the OEM usb cable, I kept getting error 43 "Unknown Device" stuff but the phone was being charged. After that, I plugged it in my usb 3.0 external drive cable and got recognised instantly. What do you think is the problem here? I did happen to land the phone-edge of it in a yogurt bowl last week but, after cleaning it, it has been working normally this much time!
(Hope) someone else had a similar experience and worked it out...
Thanks,
jim
Original cable that came with my Note 3 has broken wire inside from new, I need to move it around few times just to get it connect inside and charge phone, Note 3 itself works fine with usb2 cables, or usb3 cable from my back up HDD, so I strongly suspect one of the wires inside your cable broke or has poor connection as well, but here it's data line, not power like in mine. Solution is very simple, use another usb3 cable, that should give you fast charge, or even usb 2, but here probably charge will be slower. You can find inexpensive cables online, also I don't think cables have full 1 yr warranty, like phones do but you may as well try warranty claim. BTW there is nothing special about Samsung charging cable as far as I know and at least in my case any USB3 cable will charge my phone at full speed, just like original cable as long as charger is original.

yes, Kies 3 has been installed since the beginning with the drivers. And as long as the phone is recognised through another cable, the drivers are definitly installed! Thanks again!

As long as I have the backup cable, I just leave the OEM in the wall charger and everything is fine. There is the fact that my Knox is 0x1, but I can just try the warranty with the cable and the receipt
Thanks again!
