What app do I use to put it in system/app?
Root explorer or some other file manager with root access.

Long press on the mms.apk and press permissions then set it so that all 3 are checked for read, only user is checked for write and all are left unchecked for execute.
I don't have that option on long press. only properties.

grab GoSMS from the market. It's free and works great.

So essentially with this app you can change the icons on your toolbar, settings bar, etc.. which folder are the png's in? Been looking into system/framework/framework-res/res
Your on the right track, just a couple more.
System/framework/framework_res/drawable_MDPI
But for some like wifi strength or signal and the three on the left, those are in the SystemUI.apk like this
system/app/systemui.apk
After finishing systemui you will get constant f/C's, I just powered off and back on. That happened on the phone too and had to do battery pulls when I did it on the phone, while the force close pop up is up just hold down the power button and it will ask if you want to shut down, click yes and it will power down and should power up normally.

Anyone know where to find some good png's? to change some of the icons on the tab.
Like the back, home, applications icons.
I can see how easily you can change them in app/systemui,
just need images to change them with.
I went to XOOM theme forum and found a couple themes there to take the images from.

Thanks, yea they have alot of themes. Just took the images & placed them on my internal SD card, easy to switch out with ninjamorph can't seem to find the "halo" on the lock screen though so I can edit. Know which directory it's in?
Either at the very bottom of framework_res/res/drawable_mdpi for the Acer, and drawable_extra-large_mdpi for the XOOM

Icons wont change
Hey guys,
weird question. I'm running a Gingerbread mod and I updated the Wifi and Signal icons in SystemUI.apk, rebooted into recovery and copied over via ADB so nothing was in use by the system.
Now when I boot up, I get regular icons. I assumed it was something to do with the xml files, though when I open these, they're not exactly human readable.
Any ideas?

There are other threads that explain how to do this. But in a nutshell, you need a file explorer (one that can change rw to r- r) - i use root explorer - and without installing the launcher apk just move it to /system/app and install it in there. Restart kindle. Boom.

I'm not home so i can't try it, but give Backgrounds HD Wallpapers from the Play Store a try. It's worked on every device I've tried it on. It has a bunch of wallpapers included and you can download more right from the app (no, I'm not the app DEV!).
I haven't been able to set a wallpaper either - I tried the ICS Gallery from Play and it gave me a "can not save cropped picture" error. Didn't think of this app until I got to the office!
I will try Backgrounds when I get home and let you all know if it works or not (unless I get sidetracked and go to the bar first!_). In that case, it won't be until tomorrow!
I can report that Backgrounds HD Wallpapers works great. It's a big app though.

Where it says 'the following user has thanked xxxxxxx for this post' there should be a 'remove your thanks' button.
I'm interested in suggestions with this also. I think the question is being misunderstood. It is not so much killing the apps, like with a task manager. I would just like to be able to clear the recent apps list you get when tapping the recent apps button. With the stock way, you have to remove them one by one. I would like to be able to remove all at once. My reason for wanting this is because I do not like the fact that it shows thumbnail pics.
Is there some sort of Xposed module that does this?
Yes, the one which adds a ram bar also adds a kill all button, it's available in the xposed repo

The settings are actually in the app itself, what we need are librarys for the app to work.
It crashes looking for "rateconv" library.
EDIT: rateconv is in /lib/ of the dump, its "librateconv.so". Pushing this to /lib/ on my HTC One gplay lets the settings open but it immediately closes itself.
Ok, now it's crashing cause it doesn't have the motorola settings app, so you were right I guess.
