Unable to upgrade to 2.3.2 - Nexus S General

I bought new and 3rd weeks back. Still the android version is shown as 2.3.1. And it is saying that there are no upgrades. Could anyone please tell how to do update?

i did it for you.. and YES when you update your colors will change, its intentional

I am in the same situation and the point is not how to manually update but that most other Nexus S owner did get the 2.3.1 -> 2.3.2 update automatically very quickly (3 weeks ago at least).
I would like to understand how come we do not have the updates. I know the deployment is done according to IMEI but the 2.3.2 update should be here for us...
If anyone has some clue, I take it.
Thanks
Louis

[Q] OTA Update for Glacier

Has anyone snagged the link to get the OTA manually ? I just got my device yesterday and it has not come over air at all. I was told wifi has to be off and it can take up to 48 hours to arrive after first phone call is made from unit. Bueller?
call t-mobile and verify that they have the correct imei number for your phone.

This should be in the Q/A forum really, but if you run through these instructions it will help you force the update and root a phone that was updated this way...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843428
The instructions are more intended for people who downgraded from the update already, but should work fine on a fresh phone...
Please post questions in the Q&A section. Thanks
Sorry
I have the issue solved. I didnt understand since the rooting process is convoluted with the 4g. I have s=off now.
Which OTA are you after - the 1st or the 2nd ?
Still trying to find out about the latter (the first one has been well covered).
My understanding was one OTA that updates to 1.17.531.2 and Android 2.2.1...is there another one?

New Download Available!!! Check your system update status

FYI Folks, I just did a system update check and there was one available...downloading it now.
Hope you all are as lucky!
If it is 1.86 then it has been out for a while.
Ok, now I'm panicking...it downloaded the firmware, asked me to install...I clicked yes and now I have a fuggin Triangle with an ! plus the android bot...WTF
No, it was 4.1.83.en.US
Do I need to unroot for it to install?
I am assuming your rooted? and deox? i would say you would have to revert to same procedure when 1.5.7 came out. Ie: restore bloatware/deox files
It downloads and reboots phone, it than starts extracting file and thats where it craps out.
K, looking at how to de-ox, new to android..only had this for 2 days.
Thanks for nothing liar. I have no update in NY. Also not to be a ****, but this should be in general unless your posting the sbf

Not lying...and if I knew how to do that I would...I was running stock rom, rooted and I had manually uninstalled some of the bloatware.
Anyone got a quick link to how I deox this?? no biggie ill look around.

I can say you aren't lying cause I am getting the message too. It says it is 1.83 but the weird thing is is that I am on the bell atrix but I used Seven's method to install GingerBlur so it says I am on att but I am actually on 1.4.2

Update is available OTA in Portland, OR this morning. 3 people in my office have the Atrix and we all had the update available this morning.

The software version 4.1.83 is already being rolled out. It will be released by batches to all AT&T and Motorola Atrix.

I was getting the same error, I think it was because I tweaked my build.prop . I restored my build.prop from a back up version and now the update is going through.
only things I modified were build.prop, sideloading, root. I'm able to update without restoring to a previous stock image.

Bell Atrix Gingerbread OTA available!

Yes it's finally here!
Oooooh, someone install it and get a cwm backup =P
I've tried rebooting and going to Settings -> About Phone -> System updates, but neither way gives an update notification. Is there any other way to bump the update, or do I just have to wait until Bell decides I get to download it?

Well, I hope I'll have the notification soon.. !!
Im trying to download it over the bell network and its been 1:30hours and im only at 90% Use your wireless boys if you can..
Nothing for me yet.
Nothing in Calgary yet
How big is it ?? Just wondering, because if its available tonight ( and small enough ), I'll try over 3G. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until tomorrow. This time, I plan on making a copy of it. Here's the link for those that need it.

After installing this, you should be able to unlock the bootloader and do pretty anything you like to the phone. Unless Bell went out of their way to modify the Motorola code and *not unlock* the bootloader. In which case we're all screwed.
Ok. I got the update screen at about 3:30PM. I'm in Newfoundland by the way, so of course that's Newfoundland time.
I was rooted and had a number of apps frozen in Titanium, so I defrosted all system apps and used Gingerbreak to unroot (which is what I used to root).
I downloaded root checker and it says I no longer have root.
I took a screen shot of the update screen, which tells me the update is 145.7MB. (see attached).
I'm about to head out for an hour, but am going to click Download and let it run while I'm gone.
Does anyone think I should take any additional precautions before installing? (Given that I was rooted and had apps frozen.)
Is there anything I do to help the user community here? I'm fairly technically capable, but not a lot of experience with Android. I could follow a decent walk-through though.

That's weird because I m in montreal and I called Bell.
They said that they have no news about updates beside the one in june !
They then transfered me to motorola directly and even they said the update is not ready yet !!
It should come out soon but it s not now !!!!!
Hi,
Did anyone manage to capture the zip file yet?

I just had a pop up that said a system update was available so I clicked install and it went into my cwm recovery and said something about it wasn't signed correct and installation was aborted. Was that the update to 4.0.4?
Edit: by the way I'm rooted and went back to gingerbread last night because I was having problems with the room I was running.

Yeh if you're running CWM you're probably not going to be able to get the OTA, it relies on the stock recovery I believe.

I got the update just now. I was running a stock rooted rom and checking for updates like crazy and checking in like google was my untrusted girlfriend but no luck. Then i use one click stock to go completely back to stock and the update started instantly. Just remember to update to 2.3.7 first because stock is on 2.3.4 and reports showed error if you werent on 2.3.7.. its been since december i waited for this moment. custom roms were fun but stock 4.0.4 OtA just feels good to the soul.

It shouldn't, and I'm sure it probably won't this time, but many soak testers did brick on stock JB builds through the normal OTA last December (and, strangely, Verizon distributed to non-testers right away, so it affected quite a few people.)
i just wanna know if its gonna have the white status bar and the new dialer basicly.
I wish I knew how to update rooted 4.4 (kept form 4.2.2 by instruction on xda). I do not care too much about preserving root because I have bootloader unlocked now.

We will find out soon, but David Schuster of Motorola said the icons were white about a month ago on Google+. He didn't say anything about the dialer. When somebody asked if it would be 4.4.2 or 4.4.3he said don't worry,we've got you covered. Implying, I guess, that it is 4.4.3 or that any bugs fixed in 4.4.3 for the nexus are already fixed in the update.

If you're referring to the dialer with search funtionality, I believe that is still exclusive to the Nexus 5 (natively, of course there's sideload options).

Where does the OTA update zip file get saved? I will try to set it aside. Is it OK to just copy it to another folder like Media on the phone's internal memory?
