Ok,
SO here is my question:
I have a droid incredible. I have been using Cyanogen for a long time now. I do like the ROM. HOWEVER, I do like sense...call me crazy but I like it.
Here is my problem. I want a custom ROM that has sense enabled that lets the home screen auto rotate. I know they are capable of it as my brother in law has the EVO shift and when the keyboard slides out the home screen rotates.
Now, before you respond I know I can get a launcher like LauncherPro and ADW, but that defeats the purpose. I want my Sense widgets to work.
Even more so, I know Beautiful Widgets accomplishes, roughly, the same thing. I have had some really bad performance issues with beautiful widgets.
So my question is. Is there a sense rom that will auto rotate the home screen when I flip it.
Thanks!
I believe the only thing your going to find is a Z rom thats ported to the Inc.

Yeah, I dont really want a ported rom.
If it's going to be ported I would rock cyanogen. I dont have any problems with it.

Well the z roms here are ported just as much as cm. Try em out b4 u say you dont want it. Theyre pretty nice. There are only a cpl issues so far. But the answer is no not at the moment, what youre lookin for is a z rom feature, "new sense"

try Lou's Redemption rEVOlution(EVO framework) or Redemption Rom, based off stock. I really like the rEVOlution.
I dont seem to see a download link for the z roms.
Any direction someone can point me in?
Additionally, I'm capable of installing roms left and right but I dont understand them that well.
When I hear something is ported, it worries me sometimes. If Z is good I will go for it.
Any chance any of these roms are in ROM manager
Nevermind, little searching I found it.

So I installed this rom. It seems to work just fine, no complaints with how the rom is. Just my personal preference it doesnt seem to auto-rotate home screen.
I am not at all knocking this rom.
I cant believe that stock android are the only roms I find that do this?

REVOlution isn't a Z rom. Try Uber Z or Business Sense Z. Any of the Z ports will rotate Rosie.
Wes' Super-Z will answer your prayers. Blazing fast, Sense, rotating rosie!

The Z roms are like an enhanced version of sense. I used Wes' for a while and it was excellent and super fast.
I really liked using this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893233
Real quick and nice, lots of metamorphs.

I have that downloaded and ready to be flashed over to my incredible (that will be here in a few days, its in the mail). But does it rotate? My last phone had a keyboard, having no keyboard, at least a rotated screen keyboard, would drive me crazy.
The keyboard yes. I'm assuming your referring to it rotating while inputting text? The stock rom will do that also.
Oh I know the stock rom will do it, but I wouldn't be on XDA if I was going to keep the phone completely stock
How about if I tilt the phone sideways, will it go into landscape mode like my...windows phone does, or my old blackberry storm did. I guess that was part of my question.
Nope. I guess try the Z-rom if thats a big concern of yours. No landscape at the homescreen.
Cool, I'll do some more lookin around
Ok, so how about landscape mode while web-browsing?
Developers: Put these little details into your build threads and save us/me from having to ask these dumb questions.
What do you want to see or not see in RoyalGinger V1.5?
Like I said in the actual RoyalGinger thread on the Development page we wanted to pull the community and see what you guys like and dont like and what you want to see and what you dont want to see. I know at least for me I might try other Roms especially for testing but I always come back to RoyalGinger, This little red head has in my opinion everything a Rom needs and everything a Rom user wants. So just to make it more of the Peoples Rom we wanted to see what you guys like and what you guys dont like.
So please keep it short and simple if you want to see a specific thing like a Theme or a Mod please include the link to the thread.
It will help us find what we are looking for and get to making your wishes happen. If you want something just let us know we will honestly try our hardest to meet every wish of the community for V1.5. If we dont get your idea into 1.5 I will let you know and let you know if it is possible and if it will be coming on a later release.
Thank You all for your support.

Do you mean the stock clock that flips with the Weather? if so I cant include the one made by HTC cause that is a Sense Only item and it is not Open Source, But I am pretty sure I can accommodate your request with something. So great suggestion it will be in the next release.

Yes, it is that one. No wonder the question has been asked a few times on the net (when I Googled) and no one seems to know.
Ok, no problem. There are a few other apps out there that are similar. But not quite. Thanks though.
Top request if at all possible would be the original camera. Picture quality is better and speed is wayyyy faster.
DSP Manager
Car Dock (even though it’s available as apks)
Genius Button (I personally like it)
Ability to mute camera sound

1. Ability to receive MMS view like on stock froyo.
I hit download, and it rarely works. Stock it normally already has picture showing, instead of hitting download.
2. A big pickup, although i don't think it is possible, would be to add date along with clock in status bar.
3. Calendar similar to stock calendar, which is default month view.
4. I love the themes with battery display % options.
BTW, you guys are most excellent!
royalknight, hope you gets to feeling better, brohim....
all in all, fantastic rom, but.... (and since you're asking), this is what i would like added:
(1) stock mt4g calendar (pink in color i believe) because there's more options than the one included with RG (ie. ability to have agenda view when executed). if it's tied to sense and can't be ported to RG, then no worries.
(2) use of the genius button with dragon dictation (already mentioned). i'm not sure if i'm the minority here, but i used that app a lot.
(3) desk dock/car dock (already mentioned).
(4) stock camera (already mentioned).
not sure if there's anything else that this rom needs as i'm sure the more you add, the better chance it will become slower...
The problem with the "stock" apps you are all referring to from the original rom, is that they require sense frameworks to function. Unless HTC open sources sense, we may never be able to make it happen. (doesn't mean we can't try )
I think this should stay as close to stock Google as possible.
By trying to add in all this sense stuff... why don't you guys just use a sense rom and install the gingerbread launcher. That's basically what you want this rom to be.
I enjoy this rom because of how minimal it is. Please keep sense junk out.

People's request in AOSP roms are always sense related add on's. Launcher pro has some good alternatives for sense widgets and so forth. But I agree, keep this rom bare and clean in AOSP standards. Although I would like it if you guys added Torch app back on
And I do have a question, I love the rover theme included, but I feel like that actual battery percentage decreases my battery life by a lot everytime I use that theme. Any way you can take out that battery percentage out in the middle of that circle?

The battery life decreases due to the broadcast message required every time it changes a percentage and has to call a new image to be displayed.

man bummer... i love that theme but thats a killer for me. anyway you knwo how to take it out?
A completely blacked out (inverted them would be really nice) Kind of like the the terminal settigns, but with maybe more feel and texture than those. I do a lot of night use, that would be good. I like the terminal ones, but some things completely get lost in the transition. Now I am asking for too much!
This rom is so customizable, and now that I have a clean install, the fc have for the most part disappeared, and I have not even thought about flashing stock, like I normally did.

10-4, just wasn't sure how feasible it was... it's not a deal breaker if none of those happen, but he asked... have a good one, option...
thought the stock camera was a part of the sense framework as well, could be wrong.
My main request is to have a ROM specific theme. I switch ROMs a lot and after flashing lots of ROMs now on different phones (I'm the go-to guy at work now), I like the aesthetic touches a lot of devs put on their ROMs. You guys are adding more and more tweaks in this regard, so I doubt this even needs to be a request, but it's really cool to see those extra touches. After seeing gingerbread on so many different phones now, I've come to learn how unimpressive it is visually. Using the theme engine could then satisfy the themers out there, giving them the option to use what they want, but allow you guys to offer the Royal Theme that makes the ROM your own. I've also seen things like boot animation/fonts/optional app install scripts written into the settings. Things like that offer customization within the ROM and help it to stand out from AOSP GB.

i am on the latest cm7
Try a different launcher
I use launcher pro(sense ui) on my zte blade and have the memory usage settings to high for the launcher(in launcher pro advanced menu) but it doesn't really use that much of memory. I don't experience any lag... My blade is not overclocked(Stock ROM). U could try increasing your blade's VM heap size to 32m and turn on Hardware acceleration. It should make a difference.
Or i could just give u my nandroid backup .....
CM 7.1 stable here, using stock gingerbread launcher. No lag at all.
I also tried launcher pro (no lags), ADW (the stock one from CM and it was VERY slow) and ADW EX (same lags of ADW).
Just try another launcher.
The folders in GO Launcher are buggy, its been mentioned by them a few times :-/ i use it too, but just use different desktops for more icons

Don't use Go Launcher then.
Zeam works flawlessly and it uses less resources.
There's a bunch of launchers that work smoother than Go Launcher Ex. My Samsung GS+ runs it fine, but Blade is a bit limited in the performance front. LauncherPro and Zeam are great, but there's also a new kid: Balancer Launcher that according to the comments runs even better than Zeam does. Probably worth checking out. I'd link to Android Market but I don't have enough posts to do that

Miss my blade a lot,got an s2 now so sounds weird saying that! Lol. The only reason i miss it is probably sentimental feelings as it was my first smartphone. I wasn't thrilled with the lack of the app drawer but that's easily fixed by loading another launcher. When I was using MIUI it was Launcher Pro.
MIUI looks like iOS after a fresh flash, but it doesn't have to. That's what I love most about it, I can theme every aspect of it. I use Alt Drawer, so I have an app drawer.
Plus it's smooth, has a lot of neat apps, and is different than any other rom I've seen. I switched to it because I was bored with CM7 and didn't like Sense. That was in April and I haven't looked back.

I am on the dislike MIUI bandwagon too. I'm not going to bash it as I agree it has some sick features. The killer for me was the app drawer and 4g. I think if I gave it more than a day I could customize it to my liking but I just like Sense and all the Sense features.
I thought about maybe a custom launcher but then I thought "why change from a Sense rom that is native to my HTC phone that guarantees GPS ect to work by default and install one that isn't just to put a launcher over it and defeat the purpose"
I got bored with Sense launcher and Rosie so I currently have ADW ex installed and still have flawless gps, the dialer I like, everything synced how I like, email app I like apps where I want ect... right from the start.
I could do that with MIUI or CM but then I have to install DialerOne, GoSMS and a few other things to get what I like. I can't stand any of the AOSP dialer and sms layouts.
If I didn't live in such a 4g rich area I would probably give MIUI the turn it deserves but that is a killer before I start. It's also what's really irking me about the new Sense 3.5 Roms. Runny~Bliss(i think) hybrid looks gorgeous to me..... but I'll wait it out.
Miui isn't a bad rom at all. At first I refuse to use it because it did remind me of my old iPhone. But ended up trying it and loving it.
I get better battery life with miui compared to sense. Plus there is alot of built in apps and features to miui that is bad ass. And who can forget all the sweet customizing you can do to it. For example just did this setup below a few minutes ago...
One somewhat downside for me is the no 4G but then again that only effects me when I go visit my parents up state. That's when I backup Miui and switch to a sense Rom problem solved haha.

MIUI is AMAZING. I love it. And the theming? NO ROM beats it! Its fantastic the way you can make your phone look. The only reason why I won run it, is because of the laggyness of the keyboard.
Here is my current setup of MIUI, and it damn sure doesn't look like iOS to me...
BTW, my GPS snaps perfectly, syncing all 8 SATS in about a millisecond. I really don't get why people make comments without knowing how to do something.
Maybe it does look a bit like iOS. But I don't care, it's still the smoothest and best ROM I've flashed on my Evo. (and particularly this week's build is quite stable so far).

Not sure if that was directed to my gps comment but either way...... It's a know fact that aosp based roms are more subject to gps issue and have had numerous "fixes" posted to resolve.
It's not a matter of what I KNOW how to do it what i WANT to deal with. I never said aosp or miui were bad by any means. Just not my cup.
Posted a long time ago in the future.
I used to think the same. Now, I have customized Miui to my liking by creating my own app drawer and installing a new theme via the built in theme manager. It is very fast, very advanced, highly customizable and finally pulled me away from Sense (though I do have two Sense Roms in my Boot Manager slots).

I really like Sense as well but can see where those who hate it are coming from. I gave MIUI a try and much prefer the Sense 3.5 widgets, and all their colorful glory. I've used Sense since it was TouchFlo, so I've always had a place in my heart for it. CM7, while a purists form of Android, is too simplistic and also was too much work to setup to get it functioning like I wanted (my fault, as I really wanted Sense back).
To each their own...
I have tried all the types of ROMs and imho cm7 is the best and the most androidish.
Also I do like the newer sense ROMs(read 3.5).
Everything is about personal opinion and how you use your phone.
just my 2 cents.
cm7 is amazing, so fast and clean, i'd like to use it regulary. it took my breath away when i tried it out. but i'm missing the stock camera, news & weather widget, contact integration. and there were some smaller things i don't remember, all in all it was clean and fast, but did not have all the functionality of sense-roms.
To be fair, i didnt try out CM for some time and maybe i should have get used to it longer. I only used it 3 weeks or so.
i've never tried miui, but i absolutely love the miui-look.
so i'm using a no-sense ARHD with adw launcher ex with miui-icons and i think i'ts the best of all worlds.

ARHD..i had probs wid it...if u use it for a while..you get around 150mb free ram and if u multi task at times..apps get crashed...sense roms are too heavily ram based that is why most htc phones have memory of 700mb...
i'm changing a rom from MIUI, CM, and HTC No Sense, and the Sense itself..
for me, sense is still the best, and now i'm using the ARHD 6.1.5...
Until recently I was hooked on Sense. Now I use blackice which is cm7-like and I like it. There are three things I missed at the beginning: 1/ wheather-clock 2/ news widget and 3/ flip to silence the phone. Now I use the accuweather widget and the ics clock (eight cells combined, so the same as htc's), I wrote a custom news widget for the feed I read and still miss the flip-to-silence (but not that much).
At the end of the day they both have their pros and cons. And MIUI should be shot in the back of it's neck for threason .
i've tried cm7, miui, and a variety of sense roms. cm was spartan but functional. miui (i tried freshly squeezed) was great but it (and cm7) were missing something that makes me stay on sense: the calendar widget. i've searched for a good calendar widget so that i could stay on miui, but i haven't found one as good as the htc one.
i also like the htc lockscreen. i know widgetlocker can do it, but i don't want to run another program just for that...
CM9 all the way
I vote ICS ftw running beta 2 as a daily works ok aside from the listed bugs.
it is too early to flash ICS unless you're a dev and want to work on it for dev purposes...not a good idea to use it for everyday use...
Does anyone know a good sense rom with good amount of free ram?

I guess you could use runny4 with a script to free up Ram. You'll have around 270 MB ram after booting but of course, then script seems to kill the launcher sometimes....especially after using a resource heavy app. It's kinda annoying!
I've been using black ice ROM for a week now and I don't think I'll be coming back to sense, ever(except maybe to take a look at sense 4.0 when it comes out)! For me, it was just about finding the right widgets to replace the sense widgets. I've found quite a few excellent replacements in the market.
I'm still searching for something which can perfectly replace friendstream. I've tried pretty much everything there is...none of them work as well as friendstream did. Anyone got any ideas?

And I'm using the ICS beta. Sure there is no camera, you need to set up your data connection manually. The gallery force closes, but installing something like QuickPic gets round that. But all in all it is good enough for me to run day to day.

MIUI is pretty amazing, you dont have to use the default launcher you can install anyone you like but the theme engine is by far the best, it beats the Cyanogenmod theme engine. it can theme everything and i really mean everything from fonts to lockscreen to boot sound.

I agree with MIUI. Live the on the fly customization its capable of. And now with new ES Mod, you can enable native app drawer. Folder up the ones on home screen.

Try "android pro widgets" as a replacement for friend stream. Perfectly fits for me.
All roms have their advantages and disadvantages...I love them all ^^
What bothers me on CM and MIUI is the Camera.
The DHD camera is really good and it is a pity that it is not really supported at both roms.
I am currently using ICS ... Although I have no camera but this rom is amazing
I think the only thing that keeps me going on sense is the notification bar. I'm a big fan of how sense's pull down has a recent apps section an is split into two sections one for recent things and the other for quick settings.
I mean, I understand that you can get recent apps by long pressing home but the notification bar is in like most non full screen apps, pulling it down is simple.
I used to be hard core CM but then i started going back to Sense just for the way the notifications are set up. Perhaps if there is a notification bar recent apps plugin or fix for non Sense Roms, i would leave it.
