I bought the Mini Bluetooth Keyboard direct from Chinavision. It works OK in WInMo, but nothing will make it work in Android. I would post the link, but posting rules don't allow it.
Has anyone else bought a similar keyboard (I believe they sell a similar one on Amazon) and got it to work? If so, how?
I can pair it OK, but nothing will make it work. I tried the supplied Android driver, but that won't install properly. I tried the various BlueInput apps, but none will connect at all.
Chinavision themselves are not at all co-operative, so I thought I'd ask here.
Thanks in advance,

Just ordered something simular on ebay and waiting for delivery.
I noticed it said that it wouldn't work in Android v2.2 so I guess it will be a bit of a challenge to get it working.
I tried again today. I installed BlueInput v1.8 and had some results, but nothing useful. A click sound comes from the HD2 every time a key is pressed, as per the settings, but no text.
So, something is happening ...
I'm running darkstone SuperRAM Froyo 1.5 on SD.

I have many and very serious problem with SAP access from my mercedes handsfree phone to access my TyTn. My TyTn don't go in pairing. The problem is caused from SAP function that is not ok. Someone know how to resolve this problem ? Thanks
nobody has found this problem?
Since HTC it is far from the new rom, having sent back the escape for next the 2 or 3 months, we have hope of a rom made from we that resolves the problems sap?
This has been discussed in various threads in the past (although search doesn't seem to be working just now). You can look in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=282544 for more info, but the bottom line is that none of the current ROMs work with the Merc bluetooth kits in Europe that use SAP. We're currently all waiting for the new ROM with the hope it will fix it.

Yep - and hasn't existed for the last 6 months either .... It just doesn't work at the moment, and there's no guarantee that it will in the new version either.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, none of the ROM's currently work. Certainly the latest one - i.e. the HTC 1.35 ROM - doesn't work.
notice about sap problems on TyTn ?
Hi guys,
Hope i could find some help.
Since I updated my htc touch pro with the last official rom I cannot use my remote RC E100 anymore.
The phone is not detecting it any more.
So far no pb with the data cable only with the remote.
I tried updated drivers, but it says I have already the latest version.
Any idea ? Did I forget something ?
Thanks
Michael
After using the original headset few hours and trying the remote it's working.
I cannot explain what happened but the result is there.
It's really not fair feeling like playing lottery with this type of expensive phone.
I expected a little bit more reliability

I was happy too fast.
The remote is partially detected after using the provided headset for a while.
Then I get the sound but button are not working at all.
What a waste, a remote used 2 times ...
Any help or ideas will really be appreciated.

I'm using RC E100 with the latest Official ROM, no problem at all. I dont think it's related to the ROM update.

I guess you're right
I think it's simply coming from the mini usb of the RC E100 which is getting easily loose on the touch pro connector.
Sometimes the sound in working sometimes not, the remote doesn't work at all.
I noticed I was not the only one who got unlucky buying this accessory
Thanks guys for the feedback anyway

Searched but can't find an answer.
How does every one else dealing with this situation? Is there a work around to make the remote button work with different Android builds?
Would it work if I use a matching OEM headset? For example, get the OEM EVO headset to use with EVO based build?
what is it ur specifically trying to do
hey what is it u wanna do bc I have the desire build and I use the headphones that came with my hd2 to control my music thats about it u can do with it and u know the basic use it to talk and what not but even than u have to have winamp installed on ur phone which u can get from the android market for free or it also works as a music controller on the htc music on android idk if it works for the other builds tho, hope this helps

What are you talking about? Headsets have been working properly almost since the start of Android porting.

I think he means for controlling music. It may be a non-sense build issue. My original HD2 headset buttons don't work for skip forward, back or play/pause. This is on Bangsters V1.5. My bluetooth headset does work for these functions though. When I used desire builds the headset buttons would work, but only if the screen was on.

That's strange, I've never had that problem and I never use Sense builds. This with the screen either on or off, it doesn't make any difference.
Anyone solved this problem after NAND builds were released?
Somehow I managed to get my headset working just after flashing new build, but next morning I found no music control from headset whatsoever. Really annoying this is because I use them a lot when I go to work or enywhere else :/

@npocmo: I think that dosent work with the desire HD build portage. Did you tried with a nand Desire ?
i flashed MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v. 2.6 [A2SD+][GRH78C][RMNET][Kernel: MDJ S10.4 OC] and face the same problem.
is there any solution?
wow this thread is so old !! has anyone found the solution ? i flashed [Feb 02][DL DesireZ v3.4][DL Data2SD/Ext4 v2.7][Nand/SD/MAGLAR] yesterday and have the same problem, the remote doesn't do anything other than make the music player go crazy. solution please ? should i try with another android build ?
I have the same problem with this build!
actually these devs were saying that it was infact gingerbread who wasnt supporting the headset controls.. but now most of them do.. only thing you can do is thoroughly search the build thread to make sure that they work before flasshing them unto your phone so you know exactly what your getting into
Try changing kernel to gauner
Yes, the problem on kernel mdj.If you change kernel on to gauner it will works.

Dear all,
Is there anyway to use bluetooth HID keyboard in HD2 android?
I found similar issue mentioned under nexus one thread.
http://i-miss-erin.blogspot.com/2009/09/connect-bluetooth-keyboard-in-android.html
tried it, but it doesn't work.
I also tried some 3rd parties software from market. All doesn't seems to work for me as well.
eg.
bluekeyboard jp
Blueinput demo
but without luck.
I am using freedom i-connex bluetooth keyboard.
Anyone facing the same problem? would be grateful if there are solution to it.
thanks!
I am surprise that no one else is using bluetooth keyboard to connect to HD2 android.
Please guide on how to get it done. Thanks.
Hi there. I did some research and found that Android builds with Cyanogen mod will allow you to use a Bluetooth keyboard.
To test this out, I went ahead and bought three BT keyboards from Fry's Electronics (Microsoft Mobile Bluetooth Keyboard 6000, Logitech diNovo Edge, and Apple Bluetooth Keyboard). I wasn't able to get any of them to successfully pair up and connect with my HD2 (running Android - MDJ Froyo Sense Revolution v.1.5 build). I keep getting a "Disconnected" message when I tried typing. After changing the build to Hyperdroid v.1.7 (which has Cyanogen Mod), I found that everyone of the BT keyboards that I bought worked. Also, Blue Input is better than Blue Keyboard JP for most of the BT keyboards. The input response is very slow/choppy with Blue Keyboard JP.
I haven't tried the other builds with Cyanogen mod yet, but I'm guessing that they support BT keyboards as well.
Hope this helps.
Only Hyperdroid 1.7 works. I've tried other Cyanogenmod_builds
My keyboard Geyes by name, Gey by nature. Advertised as WM6.5 AND Android SPP.. No it bloody well isn't..
Anyway after more hours than I care to mention. Here's my results
- NexusHD2-FRG83D_V1.8_(Froyo 2.2.1) - NO won't pair/work
- Ginger_hd2_v1.2 - Connects and pairs but still can't type a thing. (really like this build too. Big buttons/icons AND FM Radio)
- HD2ONE-0.3.4a OR B - a I can't get it to build on my hd2 B.... Connects/pairs but as above. Including the really like (FM radio, too)
- MDJ_FroYo_Streak_v.0.4_RAM_Edition - Don't remember it pairing, nor connecting and therefore it certainly didn't work... FM on this one, (haven't tried the Dec 16 build)
- Biffmod-hd2-v-1-3-1 - No pair, no connect, no woman no cry.. Cyan 6.0 not 6.1 this one...
No luck with either
bluekeyboard jp (constantly dis/connects)
or
Blueinput demo (same realm of won't pair, so cannot use it)
HyperDroid1.7.......... smaller icons/buttons no FM Radio But yes!! I type in bought quickoffice numbers and letters.. haven't quite worked out Fn keys yet.
It's a yes though....It does work.
The Holy Grail would be to combine builds. FM Radio bigger buttons.. Nope, I don't know how to do that.. Very reluctant to mess anymore. Nearly driven me mental this has... Somehow it would mean extracting the BT files from Hyperdroid1.7 and putting them into one of the others HD2ONE, perhaps?
same problem here, paired/Connected, but i get nothing when i type.
and when i type hciconfig, it shows that HD2 is actually receiving data from my BT keyboard, even blueinput can make a sound when i press keyboard
is there a solution? bcz this is driving me crazy...
Did Hyperdroid work for you? This is straight out of the box, with none of the other 3rd party services.
I haven't tried any of the 3rd party stuff with other builds where the keyboard does connect and pair, but where the keyboard doesn't actually work.
YES, HyperdroidV1.7 DOES work, with no 3rd party software, and this might be the only one I know that works, but still, Fn, Caps and some keys won't work.
I don't like the layout of Hyperdroid, the icons and fonts are too small, and the latest version of psx4Droid won't work in full screen mode, but Nesoid works perfectly well, that's for sure
what I want most is that I can directly use bluez in darkstone's SuperRAM v1.5 to connect to my BTKB, no 3rd party software, but as I say, I get nothing :-(
I figured this might be some kind of bluetooth configuration problem, bcz other android devices like nexus one, EVO, Dell Streak DO work(maybe not perfectly well)
BTW, my BTKB is iPazzPort
I've learned that for Freedom Pro Keyboard, there is an official driver to install before you can use it under android, here is the link:
www.simplemobilereview.com/step-by-step-freedom-pro-keyboard-setup-with-android
I don't know if this works for freedom i-connex BTKB as well, and havn't test it on other BTKB.
I found a solution for blueinput, and get it WORKED under other biluds !!
here is the link:
www.teksoftco.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=2590
seems that I didn't quite understand how to use this tiny software before...
and again, the keyboard won't respond when I use Nesoid, which works perfectly well in HyperDroid, but u can type text though.
so, if I use bluez utility, the connection seems ok, the problem lies in the selection of the right keyboard, and how to switch to the right keyboard? I tried install other input method like google, but it won't help :-(
Yes, exactly my point. I've seen that Superfast Rom version and tried it. Yes, it's very fact.
I share your issues with the hyperdroid1.7 version. Smaller buttons, no FM and it's just not as slick as some of the others (HD2ONE and the Ginger_hd one.
I did find some BT files in hyperdroid, some .so files and copied them across. That didn't work though, I don't know what I'm doing. I only chose those because they seemed to be BT files.
It might be time to email 'Pongster' the guy who appears to have put Hyperdroid together from other builds. Nobody responded to me in that thread. I'm a bit reluctant to PM though, it seems to be bad form to me. It's just that we're so close. If we could identify which files it is and simply copy them across then we could ? amend any build..
Do you know of any other 3rd party BT programs? Although, to be honest I'm sick of fiddling (not sure it ever ends with this sort of things though).
Bluetooth HID list of builds that work + Dev HID Question
Status on SD builds in which BT works - Hyperdroid 1.7 and all 3 of Shubcrafts builds.
NO OTHERS to DATE (I've tried 13 Cyanogenmod builds)
Issue- Why do some builds work and not others?
Speculation - It must be some .so files, build.prob and or rootsfs
I've tried copying all the BT files I can find from Root/system (in the builds in which it's accessible and I've updated the build.prop Tried to get Ginger_HD, Nexus, HD2ONE, phiremod_SkinnyEvo_Final and Biffmod-hd2-v-1-3-1 to work. No luck.
Why is it that some Cyanogenmod_builds work and other don't (some don't pair, some do pair but you still can't type anything with the connected BT keyboard) at all.
If the files., issue can be identified then couldn't they be put into the (one so far) NAND Cyanogenmod build?

I would really also like to get a Bluetooth keyboard to connect to the nand roms.
Anyone else running this and having issues with BT?
Blue tooth enables fine, but will not detect any of my BT devices.
i know its just a beta, but it says BT is working.
i would post this in the CM7 forum, but not enough posts in general to be able too.
I had an issue with it accepting the pin codes. You have to type it fast!!! took me at least 10 attempts to get it to pair but it works just fine once the codes in.

Hi I dont you use bluetooth but you can forward this in the development section on this forum there is a cm7 beta 3 thread

or better still try Elelinux's rom base on cm 7 which I am currently using ... Just love it

its working fine now, for some reason the phone wouldnt detect any BT device (want trying to detect the phone with other devices) , but i thought what the hell, i enabled the discoverable option, and it started picking up other devices, even now that discoverable is turned off its working fine.
dont know if it was that, but thats the only thing different i did, and now it works.
