hello all i have dj steve's 2.2 rom and having trouble putting my unlock code in that i just got i put a non 02 sim in me streak but it wont show the unlock screen can any one help me out please thanks.
Hi. Can you boot directly into the Home Screen with your new SIM card in the phone? If you can, then maybe it's already network-unlocked. Just a maybe.
This happened to me as well and I had to flash stock rom so that the unlock screen would show.... As far as I know there is no other way to do it.
thanks but the phone wasnt unlocked before i dj steved it but yes it boots to the home screen i spose i will have to put stock rom on it i have spent ages updateing this to 2.2 as i can not run comand lines from my computer any one know where i can find a 1.6 or 2.1 02 offical zip thanks

Hi all, im thinking of getting a Touch 3G (Jade) as a second phone, my first being a touch Diamond 2, and am thinking of buying one from E-Bay orange branded.
My question is if i get one, it seems i can get it sim unlocked easy enough, but once i get it sim unlocked can i dol the hspl and flash any rom i want as i have been doing with my diamond 2? Or will being originally a branded Orange one prevent me from doing this?

You can easily SIM unlock it via ebay, i did it this way. And after that when you do HSPL you can put whatever ROM you want.

Ok i have bought a Touch 3g that was Orange branded, i have purchased the sim unlocking utility from Olinex, got hard spl running and tried a few roms to see which suits me, but whichever rom i use i am still getting the Orange start screen before the rom loads up. Not to big a problem really but if possible i would like to remove it, any ideas guys n gals ?

i think it is called a bootloader screen their is a solution to change the same u need to search as i dont remember the thread look in windows development thread and development and hacking thread im sure u will find what u want

I'm using an Orange branded Touch, after flashing a 6.5 rom it changed the boot picture to the HTC one, then I went back to a 6.1 rom because I like the start button at the top.

I got told off for posting this in an unrelated thread, so apologies and thoughts I'd start a new one.
I follwed the great work done on on another xda thread that I can't link to. I now have a rooted HTC Tattoo, thanks to the M7 fix.
Now what ?
The original problem I was trying to fix was that I had a locked Tattoo to Orange. I did a ROM flash which got rid of all the Orange guff, but it still gives me the message that I need a network unlock code to work. In reality, that seems a spurious message because even with a valid(?) or just an 8 digit number it looks unlocked, but the sim doesn't work.
Reading around the topic, I gather that the radio doesn't get flashed because Orange prevents access to it. What I'm thinking is that now that I have a rooted adb shell I can apply a ROM to the Radio?
Any ideas. I'm thinking I might need a custom Rom? Which I know is being worked on, I just wonder if the nature of the rooting not being persistent prevents the usual flashing process? Although I'm tech-savvy, the phone is a new platform for me, so please be gentle.

I've got the same problema, I've got a HTC Tattoo locked for Orange Uk. I flash it to the lastest Official Version. I try to do root and I put the unlock code. It acept but it doesn't registred to mobile network.

I have an orange network locked hero. After getting tired of waiting I attempted to debrand by installing the generic HTC rom ...
RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver
With the idea of installing and letting the OTA update occur...
So i installed goldcard tool created and image. and then installed the htc image.
2.1 is now installed but have the network locked message.
I considered trying to unlock via one of the vendors on ebay, but decided it probably wouldnt work so decided to roll back to the orange rom.
By mistake I ran this update which i believe is the HTC 2.1 update
RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_3.32.405.1_R_Radio_63.18.55.06P_6.35.15.11_release_signed
Now when i try an run the orange uk 2.73.61.66 release I am getting an error message 140 bootloader version error.
The phone isnt rooted, is there any way I can roll back or unlock 2.1. Am i going to have to call orange an confess?

root it via that guide, put in a radio that works with orange sim cards, and you should be good to go

Tried the simplified version.
When I try and run the zip file it says it cannot open the file and says it is bad.
Tried a couple of times and with both orange updates..

Try using a different SD card - hboot couldn't find HEROIMG.zip on one card, tried another and hey presto!
Well in the process of trying to get the orange 1.5 build back on i have got 2.1 working!
Tried flashing an older radio on there and gues what it works. I've now got the standard htc 2.1 build on an orange uk contract, network locked handset.
Quite pleased with myself!

Please could you give us the radio version you installed, and how you did it. You'll find the version under Settings > About Phone > Software information > Baseband version.

update-hero-radio-63.18.55.06_6.35.05.15-signed
I tried the one before that also which worked.(Basically I started from the oldest one and worked my way up)
I tried the two most recent ones first and these didn't work (Network Locked)

Can someone point me in the right direction as im having trouble with unrevoked v3. ive done this once and installed wildpuzzle rom but im still sim locked and cant find a way of getiing s-off. ive ran unrevoked again but says my rom is too new. This phone was on the 3 network and i want to run it on the tesco / 02 network.
When i boot into hboot and it does its little dance on screen it can not find and files the pc49 diag are missing.
Can some one just help me as im stuck now. ive done loads of phones in the past without any trouble and i also have done a iphone 2g the other week but this one is hard.
i will even put a stock rom on if i can get my sim card to work.

Afaik theres currently no way of unlocking the wildfire without an unlock code
You have to buy an unlock code.

I have had a quick search (At work atm)
Found various threads to remove the Sim lock but they go on and on and on lol.
As its not my HD2 (Friends who not at all tech savvy)
I have HSPL 2.08 installed along with MagDLR1.13 and of course Clockwork Recovery Mod.
With Android Running.
Just wondering is there a free solution to getting the Sim lock removed.

I just picked up a Tmobile HD2, MAGDLR1.3? and clockwork mod.
put in my AT sim and its locked :\ also would like to remove the Tmobile splash...
Sim lock... Either get and unlock code from T-mobile ( or O2) or buy the unlock code online.. those are the easiest ways
As for removing the the splash screens... those are cooked into roms
The first power on screen is an .nbh file that you can find in XDA many different ones..
While the other screens after the bootloader are ROM dependent so flash a custom rom with a different screen or cook your own and remove it
contact o2 to get an unlock code
flash a stock rom and it will remove the o2 boot screen
