Is possible how to add some new Alarm sound to Windows phone?
The default alarm sounds are not good for me.
thanks.
Is it possible on ulocked device. Just bring your favorite alarm to phone as WMA file and change name on Alarm-01.wma. Then copy it to Windows folder. It ask to overwrite it - sey yes. Then if you choose Alarm-01 you will have your own alarm.
It works on my device
I will try.
thanks

hi everyone, i just want to know is there any way i can set a mp3 file as alarm, and will it come on alarm tone list ?
Thanks
make it a wav-file and copy it to the windows dir
is there a way to do mp3 alarms?
not sure, but I do know all the alarm sounds are located in the windows folder. so whatever new alarm sound you have - it should be put in that folder and then it will show up in the list of alarm sounds.
Unfortunately this solution is not working. The only way that I manage to use mp3 as ringtone, was to install pTravelAlarm.

there's a free alarm program on the forums here, is in the WRAP topic
I like it so far , u can set more than 3 alarms, mp3 and the notification bug is not going to bother you again
Ok, I did a fast search and not sure what I am missing. I have some ring tones that I want to use and converted them to .wma, but have no idea what to do with them. I dumped them in the windows folder, but that did not work. What am I missing? Chad
All you have to do is copy the (I assume MP3) to a folder under my docs called Ring Tones then they'll show up in the settings under "phone." Just select the one you want and you're good to go. Enjoy.
Well I just tried that and I still do not see them. I tried the my documents on the storage card and on the rom. Am I missing somthing? Chad
Not too hard to do. copy the file into the file "ring" this will be in the windows folder on your device. Once there you should see it in the list for your ringtones.

What I do is copy any ringtone such as MP3 or WMA into the Sounds folder inside the Application Data folder in the root and it works.
Also if you want to assign special sounds such as Alarm sounds or music you can copy WAV files into the WINDOWS folder in the root directory and they will appear when you try to assign an Alarm sound.
Another thing that might interest you guys is that you can even assign special slide out sounds with a program that I will provide to you guys, but it must be in WAV format. ( you can always just crop a song and save it as WAV. That is what I do * editing program not available here)
Hope this answered your questions

That worked great! Thanks, Chad
Hey,
If this is the wrong spot for this question, im sorry, and id like to be pointed in the right direction.
I have installed Dutty's rom, since 1.7 now with 1.9 the new alarm system is great, but there is one thing i cant seem to get working. When i set an alarm sound like the rooster and i test the alarm, it only sounds once. Id like to get it repeated over and over again untill you press a button. I have looked into selecting a long .mp3 file, but i would have to put it in the windows folder and the alarm doesnt recognize .mp3 files. It only recognizes .wav files, but when you make a large .wav file it will be very big, and consuming a lot of internal memory.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
greetings.
Check out G-Alarm. The new manila is better than before but G-alarm is still superior. No limit to alarms, you can have an mp3 playlist rather than just a single sound, has Snooze you can execute a program by alarm ect. go look
I was trying to choose the best Alarm app for my HD2.
Mainly so that I could choose the sound file.
Realised that most alarms had "some" issue and thus decided to stay with the bland default alarm
Figured out that any sound file will work in the alarm if its a .wav
( To de honest I didnt try all the other formats)
Place any .wav file in the windows folder and it will be picked up in the Alarm.
Cheers
I did name it as Alarm-xxxxxxxxx.wav
