[Q] Baking a new default font into existing Leedroid rom - Desire Themes and Apps

Hi
im using the latest leedroid, great Rom
I plan to put this rom on to a friends phone but wanted to amend the default fornt to Comfortaa
i normally use font changer to do this on my phone but for the my friend i wanted to make things as easy as poss and just tweak the rom so its in there by default
im ok with amending stuff within Roms (usually just framework /resource apks)
but dont know how to amend the font
anyone point me in the right direction ?
Thanks guys

Just put the font you want in /system/fonts in the rom zip. And rename it/them to DroidSans.ttf & DroidSans-Bold.ttf.
This will overwrite the default font (assuming Leedroid uses these as default, most roms do).
Then flash

[Q] SE Roms without SE theme

Hi all,
I have test a lot of rom, but there is no "stable" rom for X8 for me.
All have camera, or something missing.
Is there a way to have original SE Roms, but without SE "4 corners" theme ? (blue one)
I have seen also, a "Quicktime" logo in my X8 box, and i see that, when i receive a .mov video, send from a iphone, only the SE original Rom can open it !
With a custom rom, even with all player (rockplayer, vplayer), there is no way to open a .mov video in gmail application.
I have import the original X8 SE rom, into the kitchen for custom it, and my question is :
If i change all Dialer.apk, and other apk from SE, with a original apk from 2.1 rom, it will work ?
Sorry for my bad english I hope that you will understand what i want to do
Thx
i don't know if it will work but you can try it
At least you can just delete SE theme and replace it by Launcher ex or something...

if you install Luncher pro, it's change only menu and home screen. But all apps, have the "4 corners" theme. Dialer with 4 corners is bad allway search where to hang up lol
Well, make an xRecovery backup, take apps from /system/app in some custom ROM and try them out maybe the'll work. You have nothing to loose, deleting or placing apps in system/app will not affect xRecovery, so you can always flash your backup if something goes wrong
Qqplayer works with most formats including .Mov files

i have test a lot of apps.
in gmail application, it's show xxxx.mov but when we download, it's a .qt file ... and it's no working ...
I think that i must just change the framework-res.apk ?
If someone know this answer ?
Thanks
...why change them when you can edit them? It takes more time but the risk is lower.
First of all download launcher pro (better)... Then edit framework.apk (try to extract it)... just the images, or u can replace parts of it from custom roms.
I download an edited framework.apk and change some things I didnt like with the original.
just want to remove the "4 corner" style !

Bengali font not available in GingerDX v14

Can any one fix the problem I am having. I recently installed GingerDX v14 on my X8. There Bengali font is missing but in Stock Eclair update 1 I had the font installed and all mail in the language I used to see normally. I installed Bengali font from Xperia Pro Stock ROM. Renamed it as DroidSerifBengali.ttf but didnt work. Is there any other place where I can write the name of fonts to be used?
rename it as droidsansfallback.ttf
It should work

according to guys in ICS thread, it can be done by uploading the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk from ROM files...?
I managed to flash theme but only font was changed (no battery changed):crying:
With all the data2sd, aps2sd etc implementation on Desire for ICS, are you sure that flashing those apk files on /system/framework or /system/app is the right path for it? You may need to manually put it in there.
It is confirmed for now that UOT doesn't work with ics. I wasted half an hour trying that on an Galaxy Ace typical no a2sd rom.

Yh its like that with INT2SD, in UOT you have to change the path to "sd-ext/apps_s" and "sd-ext/framework_s"

Editing Settings.apk
You should equip two frameworks before editing it. I.e. Framework-res.apk and touchwiz-res.apk

So those problems that were mentioned are the errors.

Help with themable mms and keyboard

Someone please help me out here. The ROM's I am running don't support the theme chooser theming the keyboard or mms. I have searched for hours and only found one zip that doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

I suppose you are running PA?
The theme engine is made to interact with the AOSP apps, not the Google apps. Some developers use the apps from stock ROM's instead of the apps they build from source. Try picking the mms.apk and keyboard apk ( I think it's called LatinIME.apk ) from a CM nightly, put them in your /system/app folder, set the right permissions and reboot.
If this works it might be worthwhile to make a flashable zip of the apps you want to replace, there are quite a few of guides out there that teach you how to do this. But if you need help you can also just drop me a PM. Be sure to use the Edify language, and not the old Amend language which is still used in the old (3.x < I think) recoveries.

I appreciate the response man. I have started just flashing the goo gapps right after the pa gapps. Seems to get the job done.
