I'm having a hard time getting my radio updated in preparation for CM7. I downloaded the zip file referenced on the Cyanogen Wiki page and proceeded to tell ClockworkMod to apply it, but get the following error:
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Andoir 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery. Please switch to Edify scriping (update-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
Installation aborted.
What are some reasonable ways to work around what appears to be an outdated packaging of the radio firmware?
thanks!
Use amon ran recovery clockwork is just an awful recovery

What version of Clockwork Mod are you using? Version 2.6.0.1 supports Amend and 3.0+ supports Edify.

Hi,
I am running Juwe's 4.1 with CF-Root-XW_XEE_JVB-v3.1-CWM3RFS, I was able to "install" modem.XXX.zip files in "Recovery" mode with out a problem. Today i changed from JVK modem to JL2 modem with no problems, after testing i then went to install JVE but now it won't let me.
I get this message:
Finding update package...
Opening update package...

Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by google in android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to clockwork 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.

Anyone got any ideas ho to fix?
Thanks.
Same problem here. This time with Darky 10 RC4. Dunno what happens?
It's funny cos my wife's phone has exactly the same setup as mine and her's works with the same modem files.
Currently:
Stock kernel 2.6.32.9
Droid 2.3.4
Sys 4.5.91
Rooted
Unlocked
TENFAR'S CWM RECOVERY
When I select my .zip via recovery from my SD i get:
Finding Update
Opening Update
Installing update...

File I am trying to use (if it matters) is: Flashable GreenMatrix.zip
what am I missing here?
Much thanks
I didn't see where it was made ready for 2.3.4.
I think the file location was changed in gingerbread for boot animations, so if the script was written for froyo or older its looking in the wrong spot. I think I read that somewhere. Maybe I've had too many beers.

Thanks guys. I ended up grabbing another animation and it worked fine. Now in the process of making my own....
I'm trying to install the radio update from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008384, but it says

How do I go about getting a working radio update?
You need to flash it from clockwork 3 or older.
same problem...
my clockworkmod recovery v5.0.1.0
I tried converting the image to use Edify with the tools in this thread without success.
An old version of Clockworkmod recovery can be downloaded here.
I think it's more than the scripting in use (don't hold me to that). See if you can get hold of Koush, he'll be able to tell you more
Hi all,
I am having difficulty installing CM 7.2.0-RC1 on my Droid 2. I have been using the official CyanogenMod wiki guide at
wiki.cyanogenmod. com/wiki/Motorola_Droid_2:_Full_Update_Guide
-phone was originally v2.3.3
-as per guide, downgraded to 2.3.2
-verified phone ok running android version 2.2
-successfully rooted with rageagainstthecage
-installed Droid 2 recovery bootstrap & ClockwordMod recovery
-verifed ClockworkMod recovery working - booted into CWM recovery and created backup
Then I tried to apply the CM7.2.0-RC1 zip update:
-put the .zips (CM7.2.0... and gapps) on my sdcard
-bootstrapped into clockworkmod via droid 2 bootstrapper
-apply update from .zip > choose zip on sdcard > chose update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-droid2-signed.zip
everything seems to go fine, then it pops the status 7 error:
Checking kernel version...
If install aborts here
make sure you are on
the OTA and not the
original GB leak!
assert failed: run_program("/tmp/check_kernel") == 0
E:Error in /sdcard/update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-droid2-signed.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
The part of the error message where it says "make sure you are on the OTA and not the original GB leak" has me confused... I was on the OTA as far as I knew, but then the wiki guide had me downgrade to 2.3.2. I assume that downgrade is a stock OTA update - am I right?
I've done quite a bit of searching, but can't figure out where I've gone wrong. Is there something else I've missed?
So are you on 2.2 or 2.3.3?
Where did you get your release candidate .zip? I would like to check the integrity of the file.

I keep banging my head against the exact same set of circumstances. I downloaded all of my files directly from the cyanogen wiki. I rooted my device first with SuperOneClick. Assuming that this might be the problem, I then SBFed it back to stock, and rerooted it verbatim per the instructions on the wiki and the cyano build... and continue to get the same results.
It took a bit of digging around in the CyanogenMod forums, but you have to be on the latest .sbf (2.3.3?). CyanogenMod 7.2 is based on the Gingerbread kernel and won't work over the top of a Froyo installation. Though I hear that you can't just flash nightlies (or any update, for that matter) over the top of it. You'll have to .sbf either way. This really sucks for me because I've got to re-flash my phone back to cricKet wireless (an hour process; manual flashing sucks) every time I .sbf as it sets everything back to the VZW defaults.

Hello everyone!
So in these last couple of days I wanted to restore original ROM (Android 1.6) back from Cyanogenmod, but unfortunately I can't get any available stock ROM to work, installation of .zip s end up with "E: Unable to install............... .zip (bad)", the only one that worked so far was Cyanogenmod 7.2.0. Also I can't use any RUU to install ROM, because I'm using Linux, and RUU software doesn't work properly. I'm using Clockworkmod Recovery 5.0.2.0, my bootloader is unlocked and I have rooted phone. And I wanted to know if anyone has got original ROM's backup that would work for my recovery to reinstall original Android 1.6.
Thanks!
Have you tried to extract ROM zip file from ruu package installer?
https://github.com/kmdm/unruu/ (I've not tested)
Just found this thread that can help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711302 (untested too, I've retired my tattoo long time ago )
If you're trying to flash donut roms try to downgrade recovery (for which i can remember from old days, very old Rom uses amend scripting language for flashing instead of edify)
Bye
