Tango support for Motorola XOOM! - Xoom General

if you dont like google chat, try out Tango!!
now i can connect my nexus s to my motorola xoom!
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.sgiggle.production&feature=search_result

Yep, noticed that too. It supports 3.0 now, I tested between my EVO and Xoom and worked like a charm.

How are you guys getting it to work? Mine won't register
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App

did you activate it? through e-mail? you should have gotten an e-mail. but i dont know if it's necessary to do that in order to get it working.

It still tries to flip it to portrait view rather than leaving it on landscape.

Google Voice works fine on the Xoom. But you can not download it from the Market. You can copy the apk from your N1, or do a search on this forum for "I got Google voice working on my Xoom ". There's a link on that thread that you can do also.

Unfortunately that's one of those US-only things.
Check out SyncSMS. It basically does just that.
Can't do it on the Verizon one - Big Red blocks it on their end.
For the US one, you'd need handcent and a framework-res hack.
Handcent and message default didn't works in xoom.
Another solution?

Video chat

I'm trying to use yahoo to video chat with my wife n lil gurl...my question is how the heck do I.get it to switch to front facing camera I've tried everything I know to and can't find a way. Any help b apreciative ty...

Get skype instead. It hasn't been officially released for the MT4G but (Only if you're on the gingerbread update) this should work:
http://www.villainrom.co.uk/SGS2/skype045.php
It is very good. Also, the market will offer an update for skype that will overwrite this one. Don't take it, as it will make video calling stop working.
Ok ty will try....wish yahoo would work I know or atleast I thought it was supported...

Wrong suggestion, outdated. The Market version of Skype works perfectly on MT4G. It has a switch in Options that allows turning video on for any phone. Just download Skype, turn that switch on, and you have video.

How can I read and reply to SMS messages from my tablet?

How can I read and reply to SMS messages from my tablet?
I saw an app in the Android Market called SyncMS.
The latest reviews said it is not working as it should.
I'd hate to purchase it and not having working properly.
Has anyone tried it, or know of another app and method that works?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
you can use remote web desktop, and its free too.
I'd take a look at DeskSMS.
I use google voice and works great even had an updated version today.

Don't you need to be US-based to set up/make use of a Google Voice account though?

I have syncsms and it works fine but you need dropbox as well as the messages go through it. Another good one is textab. That one connects phone through bluetooth instead of using dropbox. Pretty handy.

Thanks. I've never heard of Textab. It didn't show up in apps that were related to SyncSMS either.
Which do you prefer between the two?

I think textab is flipping awesome. Ridiculously easy to set up and use. There's a trial version in the market and the full version is available for $2
I use Tablet Talk and it has worked great so far. You can sync via bluetooth or through your wifi network.

I used to use this on my PC. Didn't know they came out with a tablet version.
I like how I can see and reply to all of messages, as well as share text clipboard between my phone and tablet.

Look for texttab in market and try the free verson first. If you get it working I is great.

Textab and Tablet Talk are both nice. Tablet Talk seems to have more features. I have both up and running. Trying to decide which one I want to keep.

This app is awesome. Dev is working hard on future updates too.
I also like how it alerts me for incoming calls. That way I will know who the call is from, and will be able to get to my phone to answer it.

Is there any way to use my laptop keyboard with the A500?

Have you looked at droid vnc (don't know if there is something else similar). I thought I saw another app that would also work, but haven't tried anything yet.
I did. I couldn't get DroidVNC to run on the tablet without crashing.

Ugh, sorry, I was planning to try it out myself but hadn't had a chance yet. There is another thread on androidforums about this also with some possible usable apps:
http://androidforums.com/android-applications/8858-remote-control-my-phone.html
You dan do it wit WiFiKeyboard that is in the market
Just tried that wifikeyboard and seems to work well for me. hopefully it is what the OP was looking for too
I use it to get cheats in gta 3 ;p
There is this... haven't tried it.. http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...blet-android-phone-your-pc-other-android.html
And other than that I have a Microsoft keyboard that has a little 2.4 ghz dongle and it works great. Mouse works too. If you really want the keyboard-tablet experience. Lags in not-native roms.. perfect in gmail, talk and a few others.. My two cents.
And of course there's always the transformer..

[APP] Tablet Talk - anyone use it?

So I found this app called tablet talk which is supposed to sync your phone to your tablet via WiFi and it uses your mobile phone number, so you can send text messages and see missed calls, etc. from your tablet..... has anyone used this app, or maybe something similar? If so, how does it work? Is it worth the money? If this is something that works flawlessly, then I can see it is a must-have for a user like me who would love to be able to receive and send text messages from my tablet. Just wanted some opinions on this app, or something similar. So far this is the only app that I have found that can do this.

Brilliant app, I used it all the time before I sent my nexus back. It connects via Bluetooth or wifi, but i always used bluetooth, it was easier to connect. Text messages show up just like they do on your phone, definitely work the money
Just use the free 15 quid credit that came with your nexus.

Yep. Love this app as well. Great for in car as well. Now I don't have to have both my tab and my phone mounted to my windshield. Just my tab and tablet talk....text messages and answering calls (Bluetooth headset of course)

Using it as well, very handy app. Between that and Groove IP, I generally don't mess with my phone when I'm at home.
Just as everybody else has said, it is worth the purchase. I usually throw my phone in my room and carry the N7 around with me when I'm home so it's nice getting texts and calls sent to the N7 that would have been missed.
Funny seeing this post, cause not to long ago i posted looking for an app like this and someone referred it to me....LOVE this App and use it everyday....you can also accept calls if you have a bluetooth headset paired....its awesome and would refer it to anyone looking to basically use theyre phone features on theyre tablet....

Thank you everyone for the replies. I did end up purchasing this app today and have used it quite a bit just for texting so far. Don't own a Bluetooth headset so I probably won't use it for calls, but its definitely convenient to not have to have both my phone and the tablet next to me npw,. I love being able to received my text messages on my tablet. Showed it to a friend and they really want it now too, but the problem is they have an iPad and a Samsung s3, so I don't know if there is an app that is cross-compatible. If anyone knows of one I'm sure they would appreciate it if you could let me know. Thanks again everyone

You done need to use a Bluetooth headset unless you are in public. Otherwise you can just put it on speaker phone.
