Is there any fix to make sounds from x10 louder ?? i'm sure that current "max" volume isn't max in fact. Check out default ringtones, they sound louder than music played in mediascape.I'm wondering if music player which could boost the volume of music exist...
What firmware are you running? is your phone rooted?

New firmware is the solution, 020.

I use R2BA020 firmware...I haven't rooted my x10 yet...
when I set my own MP3 as a ringtone, its sounds much quieter than default SE ringtones... so defaults are simply created louder ... I'm wondering if root access could change sound drivers to make the speaker play louder

Sorry, but the new 020 doesn't fix the low volume at all. In my pocket the X10 is still unrecognizable "loud"
I really start thinking it's a hardware issue and cannot be fixed :-(

IN Call Volume is still low, if you are coming from Nokia or Samsung, you will feel too low.
With Earphone, it is great. Loudspeaker is normal.
Still o ideas... :-( previousely, I has got Xperia X1 and for it there was fix made and it really played louder..... I know that x10 is different platform, but I' sure that root access will help us to hear more

I too am sufferring from low volume on the phone. I particularly notice it when I am on a call without earphones. Haven't used the earphones yet. This was the case before I rooted. I have 020 + root and it is still the case like someone else in this thread wrote. Would be glad to find out if this can be fixed.
PS: coming from a NOKIA N95
If you change the gain on the /system/etc/AudioFilter.csv file on a rooted ROM it should change the volume/make the sound a little more distorted. There should be some info online about that.
maybe try the louder volume hack although its not a free app..
Hi

There is a certain issue with the incall volume although to me it is not so big problem. Of course I wanted it to be louder. There is no issue about the phone getting hot. That is my opinion and experience so far!
In my opinion, the volume at its highest setting is loud enough for me to hear people while walking through busy Japanese train stations, but then again, it does take some getting used to. You have to hold the handset to your ear in a certain way, or it's kinda miffled.
I never take the phone out of vibrate mode, so I can't comment towards the speaker's volume. Seems on par with the iPhone 4, when it comes to playing music.
Hey guys just wondering if anyone is facing any volume problems after the 3.1 update.........prior to the upgrade I had awesome crisp sound flowing through the speakers and equally good sound through headphones ......... after upgrading I lost sound on my left speaker and sound through headphones is barely a whisper .........any suggestions guys? Cheers in advance

I think my volume is lower then it was before the update.
now that I think of it, my max volume sounds quieter as well.
Right speaker sound is gone and left too quiet after update. Headphones too low. After two resets and no change returned to walmart. I cannot deal with such nonsense.

My volume is crap from day one (launch date) Right is louder then Left. Hopefully there's a fix for this.
F**k I think my tf knew I was complaining about it ........ You guys are gonna love this...... Now only my right speaker side is playing music and only the left side on headphones is playing music........and before u smart assess out there say maybe its ur headphones ....its not I tried 3 different pairs :b

Mine works well after the leaked 3.1, maybe a bit less volume though. Balance on speakers and headphones is perfect. Left speaker no longer has issues, probably related to lower volume. FLAC on headphones is remarkably good.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
No problem here.
Both speakers seems balanced and loud.
However this is my 2nd transformer I bought.
The first one i had the right side stopped working
then both died =/ lol RMA getting it back on 6th.
Sigh now its in stock. I can't sell it -.-
I am using the leaked version and sound is great. Of course don't expect a loud buzz from the built-in speakers, but with my JLAB headset it fine!
Just got mine yesterday... did the update and everything seems to work well except for the speakers.... Overall quality kinda seems crappy and my right speaker is much louder than the left one. This sux
I'm going to try to downgrade to 3.01 then upgrade on the leaked version ...... I'll keep u guys posted

Anyone else tried these type of devices with your transformer?
looks like a common issue :-(

is there no way to tweak balance by default? else will return it
Well some good news. Supercurio is improving the sound on the Asus Transformer. He did a great job on the galaxy phones. So there's hope yet.

hey guys i tried to downgrade to 3.01 but for some reason i couldnt do that , so i did a factory reset to see if that would solve the problem, still didnt solve the problem ...... out of ideas at the moment..... anyone got any other ideas..... or even better does anyone know how to downgrade TW.epad-8.4.4.5 running android 3.1 to the old 3.01
I've searched all over the forums to no avail.
Whenever I play anything out of the headphones, it sounds extremely distorted, like its attempting to play in surround sound but no fully working. Whenever I have 5.1 surround set to on or off it doesn't change anything, it still sounds distorted. I believe it only started to do this after rooting/installing SyndicateRom Frozen 1.2
Please somebody help, I really want to listen to my media with this awesome handset (starting to regret selling my iPhone 4 to try out an Android device, I've had nothing but problems).
Thanks to anyone who looks at this and attempts to help me out, I greatly appreciate it!
I just re listened through headphones so I can give a more accurate description of what I am hearing through earbuds. Its as if I am only hearing the rear speakers of a surround sound system. Spoken words, and more front end stuff is either distorted or completely absent from the sound.
Hope this helps you guys more on helping me in figuring out the problem.
Thanks!

Try wiping and reflashing the Rom. Never had your issue.. or Odin to ec05 and see if you have that problem. If you do then it's the phone. If it doesn't, root and reflash the Rom. I recc simply asop 4..

What is odin? And do I really have to do all of that? Isn't there some setting I could mess with? I've taken a lot of time and effort to customize all 5 home screens and loading all the apps, ect. I'd hate to lose those hours of work.
Grrrrr, Android. You frustrate me.
You sure its not the buds?
That sounds like when i dont realize the headphones are in properly so i jam it and it works

I tried 3 different pairs so yeah I'm sure
Hmm tried a different music app? tried a different sd card? Try a different phone with the same sd card?
You have to eliminate ALL probables before you take the dramatic step of starting fresh..

So from November 2012 when I got my phone I have tried any thing came to my mind to solve this problem but nothing worked for me!!!
I'm very sensitive about music quality and I really can't stand this anymore!!! My volume is very low even when I crank it to the max!!! I mostly use my Dr Dre Studio headphones and sometimes my Beats Tours... I've tried several other headphones and didn't get any result
When I connect my Studio headphones to my laptop and I listen to the same track that I have on my phone it's super load like if I turn up the volume to the max I really go deaf!!! So I'm pretty sure it's not from my headphones... I know that the phone's amplifier is not as powerful as my laptop but still ... I think it is not normal, I also notice some other people have the same problem as me!!!
So these are the things I have tried already:
1. Using other mp3 player apps such as PlayerPro, PowerAMP, Winamp and .... none of them made any difference and the equalizer simply just mess up the quality of the track...
2. I have used all the mods like Beats Xlouder and such and they also just lowered the quality
3. All of my tracks are MP3 320kbps/flac audio format... still I tried to increase the audio using Audacity by amplifying the dB... It helped but not really noticeable.
Currently I don't have root access but if something can really help I'd be willing to root my device... like kernel or something! Please help
You'll need an HTC phone with Beats Audio to go along with your Beats headphones.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic...
Well...
A ) There's something wrong with your ear.
or
B ) You have a defective unit. My headphones are waaaayyyy too loud even at half volume. If it's really that bad, ask for an exchange unit. If you're adventurous, root and custom rom it. Might see a change.

Google Nexus 4 Volume low you can probably see people having the same problem I you think I'm lying
If you think you can help please give me a solution to my problem...
Imma be as descriptive as possible with my fix.
ROOT YOUR PHONE!
1. Install Trinity kernel. (Its the only kernel I've gotten this to work with)
2. Flash Misledz audio mod, keep up with the latest ones as in my opinion she really knows what she's doing and the quality gets better and better.
3. Once the mod is installed Titanium Backup / Rom Toolbox remove the 4 system apps installed by Misledz audio mod.
-Awesome beats, -Noozy Player, -Noozxoide, -Dolby Digital App.
4. Reboot wipe cache / dalvik in recovery, reboot.
5. Go to the market and download the latest Noozxoide, set up to your musical preference.
Now you can omit some parts such as keeping 3 of the apps, but I find awesome beats not to work at all, the libs in the mod does though. That's why I remove the apps. I listen to a lot of bass heavy music (rap / old school hip-hop). This method is a night and day difference in loudness and audio quality.
I genuinely hope this helps everyone.:good:
dude Awesome beats is the worst ... plus I'm not rooted any more
but I heard there is a kernel that increases the volume
Not awesome beats. Misleadz audio mod. Trinity kernel makes your audio louder naturally. With the audio mod trust me you'd give me an e-hug in gratitude (no homo). I had the same problem. This method I posted works.
I give it try thanks a lot

try lower impedence headphones?
and/ or a small headphone amp, eg. the fiio?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/FiiO-E5-BK-E05-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B0026RJQJ6
- Sensitive to music quality.
- Uses Beats.
- Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

Haha told ya!
What type of earphones or headphones do you use anyway? I'm using the V-Moda LP2's and they sound fantastic. They do need an amp to get the total feel but with Poweramp's equalizer, I have been pretty impressed.
So, I've noticed that my in-call volume (which I've maxed) isn't very loud.
Also, the ringer/notifications aren't very loud either...
I moved into this N4 a couple days ago from an Atrix 2. Is it just that my A2 was a lot louder?
I'm using the Paranoid Android ROM. Is there a way to tweak both volumes in this ROM or somehow else?
Try fauxes kernel and his app on the playstore

Wow. Most helpful comment on the forums. Ever.
Can I please get someone else to chime in?
Maybe some other people that have a N4 that have good sound stock, or others that think its really quiet?

Personally, the speaker is fine. It's quite loud. Probably the speaker and notification ring is louder on the Atrix 2 and you were so used to it.
If you want it louder you're going to have to switch kernels.

Oh well, I guess I'll just live with it then. I will eventually get used to it I'm sure. I have to use speaker phone a lot because I can't hear people with the ear speaker.
Was thinking about a bluetooth ... but I tend to hate those...
