Hey, I rooted and flashed a custom Liberated ROM on my cousin's HTC Aria and all was well. After about 3 months, he started experiencing minor bugs, so I took it and tried flashing an updated ROM...As I was looking, I noticed CM7 was available. I downloaded CM7, placed it on his SD card and tried flashing after wiping. The installation said it was aborted, so I reread the topic and it said that I needed to format the cache partition...so I did. I then reflashed after wiping again and it worked, but now my cousin has no ATT signal. Do you have any idea how to get it back???
Are you trying to go back to 2.1 or to cm7? Either way boot into clockwork and clear cache and system memory. Then install the appropriate zip files.
If you have any important data make sire it is backed up first. The SD card is generally safe, but I usually copy it to my computer just in case.
If this isn't what you want, maybe expand on you prior post?
"Do you mind if I turn up the AC?"
I added a bit more info to the OP. I tried clearing the cache and system memory, no dice.
I haven't heard of this type of issue before. Anyone know what would affect signal in this instance?
"Do you mind if I turn up the AC?"
Is Airplane Mode turned on?... Menu, Settings, Wireless & Networks, Airplane Mode
Besure the cover is on back. Are you want have signal..

Have you tried reflashing? That would be my first troubleshooting step. Also, when you first flashed, did you format /system?
I installed 2.1 stock via RUU and it still had no signal, I went outside with it to through it in the lake, and once I got outside, the signal came back.
Thanks for the help/suggestions.

its an issue with that build of clockwork mod. just leave your phone on while charging as you don't gain anything by turning it off to charge it anyway.
to the op, did you check the apn settings? i saw you said the service came back, but apn settings is always where i start with loss of signal.
Well recently my phone has been deleting number out of my phone book ... yes my facebook contact are over a 1000 but I wouldn't think it would delete my contacts... what should i do ...
Sent from my HTC Aria using XDA Premium App
Are the numbers from their Facebook profile? If they are and your friend(s) decided to make their number private and/or delete their number on their profile, your phone will also sync that information thus deleting it from your phonebook. This also applies to friends who deactivate their account.
No the number that are deleting them selves are from my HTC sync via outlook... I guess my question is ... is it because of my call history having over a thousand people in it due to outlook... and if so what can u do about it ...

Try to flash updated version of radioimage. Hope it should fix the problem

Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
i was rooted in the past then installed cwm and a voodoo this was like 3 weeks ago. Now he just downloaded OCLF and all he did was unroot it... so i smacked him and tried to do the OCR and it does not work. I put the phone into recovery and then wipe everything and it does nothing but remove all my apps and starts on the welcome to android where you would log in to your gmail and when i try that it doesnt work... i think i killed the phone
When it boots do you hear the robot voice?
good day.
no on that robot voice.
Is it safe to assume you don't have good nandroid (before mucking with the device) ? And is update.zip still on your sdcard?
good day.
You should be able to completely remove voodoo, then Odin to stock and re-root from there.
The touch screen doesn’t work properly on Desire
I got the HTC Desire with contract from UK Three mobile,It had a problem with touch screen, It worked normally but sometimes the touch screen didn’t work but it just sometimes. While the touch didn’t work I was difficulty to use with buttons and I couldn’t type on it. So, I sent it back to service centre to repair this problem. The service connect me, they couldn’t find any fault on it. I think the screen happens sometimes and they didn’t found at that time. Now I get my phone back and I still having problem. So I try to change firmware and now I already upgrade to Froyo (2.10.405.2) and think about problem in firmware. The new firmware work on it and it also have touch screen problem sometimes. The problem is so bad and sometime it is very difficulty to open @ (slide to unlock) screen. Please give me some help about my Desire. Thank you.

I should have read more carefully. Sorry.
Then I can assume you have tried to ODIN the CWM kernel and dropped the update.zip on your sd card?

When I woke up this morning my phone prompted me to install the long awaited update to 2.2.1. Now that I've installed the new OS my phone is dreadfully slow! To the point where it's almost unusable. Anyone else experiencing this problem after updating? Any solutions?

There is no longer a Factory Reset option in SD card & storage settings; what is going on with my phone?!!? AHHHHHHH!!!!!!
I called tech support and they told me an alternate way to perform the factory reset. Power Off, Hold Home+Power button for 20 sec, etc. Gonna try that and hopefully my phone will work properly.
Thanks for the help,

Root it post the System dump and come back tomorrow for the fast version.lol

Sad story really. Factory data reset wasn't paying the rent and got evicted from SD card and phone storage settings. Now living under the Privacy settings bridge in a cardboard box. All because it couldn't be content with donuts and blew the the rent money on a frozen yogurt habit.

Wow. Creative!
Is there anyway to revert back to 1.6, or am I stuck with 2.2.1? I did the factory reset and the phone is running ok, but it ran much better before.
I'm having an issue with the browser.. My phone reboots when I open the browser and try to run a search, or while I'm typing in a website address. However, the phone is stable when I run searches or "go to" websites via the Google widget. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
-Adam
I had exactly the same problem.
I was quite happy with the speed of 1.6. Got the OTA update to 2.2.1 and I have hated the phone since! Rang HTC to see if anything can be done and as usual no returned calls etc.
I ended up rooting it and using setcpu to get it almost back to how it was but it still has its issues.
I would put a custom rom on but I dont want to risk bricking it just yet.
Download this, rename it to update.zip (not update.zip.zip), and put it on the root of your SD card. Boot into recovery, do the factory reset from there, then select apply update.zip from SD card. Let it do it's thing. The problem is that you did the factory reset AFTER installing, doing it before is the way to go. The file is the official update, so you'll just be re-installing it.
@creative, your past the hard part. Just download/install ROM Manager from Market, select "Flash Custom Recovery", reboot into recovery, wipe, and flash whatever ROM you want. Or just do the above to get the 2.2.1 working better.

Do another factory reset and this time let it sit there (DON'T TOUCH IT!) for a solid 10-15 minutes after it gets to the sign-in screen. This is a very slow phone in the first place and there are all sorts of background processes and "thinking" going on the first time you boot up into new software.
I've flashed many roms on my old mt3g and this genuinely makes a huge difference. Try it.
Oh, and did I mention this phone is just slow in the first place? It is, and it has way too little RAM. Why on earth T-mobile gave us the 32B instead of 32A, I will never know...

Your not going to be able to flash the update.zip if your using CM 6.1, the install will just fail. You'll have to return the phone to stock using the stock sappimg, then apply the update. You will lose root, but you can get it right back using SuperOneClick. Nothing should happen to your phone unless something happens while its updating the radio, which is nearly impossible unless you pop the battery out or drop it or something of that sort during the update (same risk you run if you do the update OTA).
I had the same problem. Before I updated, I formatted the SD and wiped everything. I left the phone on the counter over night after flashing. 6 hours later and it was still pretty bad.
I just went back to stock and I'm going to try Gio's themed ota.
Edit: Gio's version is blazing. Just in case anyone was wondering.

Or you could rename the file to sappimg.zip and power the phone off and hold down the Volume Down + Power and press the Action button (which is just pressing the scroll ball) and it will take you phone back to your factory reset. Then you can root and install you ROM as mentioned above.

No you can't. That update depends on the 1.6 build. It's just patching the 1.6 build to 2.2.1, when your loading up a sappimg, it's looking to update all the partitions (e.g. SPL, recovery, radio, system, data, etc.). So, it won't work this way, and in reality, you should just get an error in hboot trying to run this as a sappimg.
Follow the advice on this attachment. My Magic was useless after update. While not perfect now, this helped a lot.

This thread is sad news to me.....I bought a mytouch last week on eBay expecting to do the froyo update to replace my blackberry 9700 that is having all kinds of issues after a few accidental drops. Sounds like I would be better off flashing it with one of the donut faster roms than going to 2.2
The stock rom provides stock performance and does work fine. Just need to wipe and give it time to finish running all the background processes to sync the Google bits.
I will say root and OC to 614 works wonders: I have been going back and forth between the 1.2 and Fender OTA ROM's making tweeks and have a stable, fast and battery effcient phone with both. Makes me wonder if other members coming from a CM rom or others with OC are basing a lot of their sluggish compliants (after the Google sync is done) from running at 528mhz.
Don't give up, just pop the hood and tweak to your liking.
Kind Regards,
Kevin

pretty much the stock rom is evil made my phone choppy even after a full wipe and i let it boot completely i had to root my phone and put a new rom on there i suggest cm6.1 its stable and good for new rom/root users
Edit:yes the mt3g is old and the fastest i ever seen it was on a rom that wasn't OTA (over the air) its from 09 give it a break. a few months left then i can get a new phone with more ram im almost off my contract lol
Before I start lm just going to say this rom kicks ss and you guys rule.
Anyone else with Syndicate Frozen having this problem? Not sure if it is a known bug.. I already completle restored to eclair, switchedto EB13, clockwork, wipe wipe wipe and installed syndicate rom frozen (the newest version I think) and everything is working wonderfully but if I connect my phone to my computer and open up the SD card and create a folder and dump some .pdfs I can read them fine in documents to go or whatever but when I turn the phone off and then on again all that folder is deleted. Whats up with this?!
Backup your files and format your sdcard. It might help or not but worth a shot.

Hey thanks for the reply.
Sadly I tried all that, even tried using a completly new sdcard I had laying around here and the same thing happens..
This is not going to be much help, but just thought I would report, I am not having this problem.
I've been able to transfer files without issue. Wireless or through the USB cable.
I've encountered a number of minor annoyances....
Mint app launches randomly... seriously... I'll be typing a text... bam! Mint.
Wifi locks up on enable and disable sometimes... reboot to fix.
Etc... it will get better over time though

99% this will work..
I had an issue where my dhd screen became totally unresponsive.. nothing worked (Full wipe, new rom, nandriod backup etc.)
The only way to sort it out was to flash an RUU (http://iloveabath.co.uk/index.php?dir=RUUs)
then reroot??

what you do is:
1. turn your phone on
2.connect to your phone using USB to computer (just leave it in charge mode)
3. Run RUU , after view clicks it will do everything.
Done phone back to its old state.
Edit: sorry, must of been half asleep. Yes you need to reroot, like the person pointed below, thus I recommend to flash 1.32.

Installing the RUU should return the system all to stock (kernel, radio, bootloader etc.) I don't see why the issue remind, unless it's the app your downloading... Search through the development section there should be a guide, best of luck...

Long story so please bear with me. I have a Sprint I9505. I had installed a rom which made me lose mobile data and I eventually called Sprint to help me restore it. I of course did not mention that They did a great job of helping me but one of the things that they made me do was a hard reset. I did so and went about going through the process of re-configuring my phone but it will not let me get past the wi-fi set-up screen because the wi-fi will not turn on. So that's where I am stuck. I rebooted into recovery mode and see that I still have CMW installed but it will not read my external 64g card nor will it let me mount it. My intent was to restore a nandroid back-up that I had made prior to installing the rom that gave me the issues. But no luck. I have my phone next to me and although it is not going past the wifi set up screen, I still hear my phone vibrate and the screen turns on so I assume that I'm still receiving notifications. I tried to install the I9505 firmware and go back to stock but it fails everytime with about 10 percent to go. I tried to download the firmware for Sprint but it gives me a download error after completion (I assume that it is a PC issue not a firmware issue). So I'm assuming that I'm not totally screwed since I can still get into recovery mode. I'm in a bit of a time crunch since I'm going out of the country Saturday and would like a working phone before then. Thanks to all of you in advance for any help that you can provide.
