Hello,
does somebody know, how we can enable Just It TIme ( JIT ) dalvik vm compiller on our Acer Liquid running eclair 2.1 ? I was using it on my G1 (1.6) and it was awesome for 3D, zip archivation, video decocing , ect. and I would like to try it on my A1, cause 2.1 is little bit laggy -> this should be the way ...
Try playing with CyanogenMod 5.0.7 teste1 JIIT: http://droidbasement.com/g1/mods/JIT-CM5.0.7_t1-ds.zip
I know it's from another rom but it is 2.1 from AOSP.
This is to flash from recovery.
Do this at your one risk
Hi,
So I read a bit more and apparently we need kernel source (2.1) for this.
Let us hope it won't take long to be released after official update to 2.1.
Best regards,
Anthon.
Yeas, unfortunatelly i get the same informations ( Kernel Source for JIT, OC, ect. ( Ill hope well get it soon Anyway, thank for your effort.
Hello guys 'n girls!
I spent a long time on combining all the froyo-based roms out there with the different kernels that are available.
Here's the outcome:
Use OTA-CM-mix froyo rom from amazinglarry: [link]
After flashing the rom, flash ezterry's BiffMod kernel: [link]
Why should u use it?
it's REALLY fast
the battery-life is pretty good (I play around with it alot and get about 2 days!)
please tell me how u like it!

as the title says, i'm a Gnote n00b (yet android and I9100 veteran )
this is my 4th android device (Nexus One > Samsung Captivate I897 > Samsung S2 I9100 > Samsung Note N7000)
the N7000 came to me with ICS_Stunner_1.4.19 pre installed by the guy i got if from and LP5 modem
on this issue:
* i know AOKP is not as good as Samsung based roms (the pen thing) but i also understand that there are other issues, what are they?
* is the modem OK? or should i switch it to something else?
* if i decide to go from Stunner to other rom, any special thing i need to know?
Congrats
I've got the Same situation here mate ,made the transition more than two weeks ago , with mixed feelings , but the perfectly huge size is what's keeping me with this baby.
I haven't messed about with ICS yet ,but I know there are problems with loosing root when switching ICS ROMs
Something about ICS repaks as well....
and while I'm a noob no longer , I really don't view myself as an expert on custom ROMs either , especially ICS ROMs , so you should ask someone else about this.
but my info goes like this:
1.you need to flash abyssnote 4.2 kernel as it has red pill recovery which is needed to flash ICS ROMs
2.from there you should wipe everything ,factory reset ,cache ,dalvik.
4.flash an ICS ROM and that's it.
4.Pray you still have root
Hope I helped and sorry for not providing links as I'm on my mobile browser.
EDIT: here is a link for you , even though you already have an ICS ROM ,I think you'll find some interesting info there
http:// forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614443
EDIT2: Could you check one thing for me since you're on ICS , could you check if ICS supports RTL (Arabic) character shaping by default? Thanks
So far , I've tried out tytung's NexusHD2 ICS Rom (incredibly bad experience) and a few others , but I haven't seen any completely functional 4.x ROMs for the HD2.Most of them have a lot of bugs and I can't use Viber with them because the phone application crashes when I pick up the phone. So my question is this - is there any ROM based on 4.x that can match a 2.3 ROM in terms of performance and stability ?
I've been searching the forums for an answer but so far I haven't found one.I would be very grateful if someone could just point it out for me.
As far as I know, almost all HD2 ICS ROMs are fully functional (except for viber, it's a known issue).
And if you're having so many problems with tytung's ROMs, I don't know what else to recommend. (Not that this is the best, this is just the least buggy)
I have been using the SlimRom 8.0 on my HD2 since it came out and I have had the smoothest post-GingerBread experience with my phone.
Try it, I don't know about Viber because I don't use it.
I'm running it NativeSD on CLK with Extended TWRP.
